Vienna stares at the man, seeing the years of experience between the layers of aqua blue. She sees the ghosts that haunt him, the dark, dark secrets he fought to oppress.
"435..?" She whispered back, holding the apple tightly, feeling the juice drip down her fingers, she didn't care. What she did care about however, was that this man should be dead. He shouldn't be here if the world was working right and the gods decided to be cruel to him instead..
Technoblade nods his head, stepping away from the woman, going back to where his items were, making a new ender chest to access them. The dark haired woman stayed back, shocked and confused. She watched as the man disappeared into the room, and return strapping armor on over top of his white undershirt, cloak thrown over his shoulder as he tightened the straps to his chestplate.
"Do you want the story?" The man says, fixing his cloak around his shoulders. Vienna nodded her head, concerned on how this man was still alive.
"I was seven or eight, it's been so long that I can't remember. I was staying right outside the forest with a boy, I don't remember what he was to me anymore." Technoblade started, attaching his sword to his waist band. "We were sparring with little stone swords we made around a small house my family lived in. I guess I got sloppy and he was going to hard, but he stabbed right through my lungs. I remember his scream, shrill and high pitched, and I remember my mother's sobs as she cradled my dying body. That was my first death, but my father had a golden apple spare, and he gave it to me after I died. I never saw that boy again though..
"But That golden apple was my undoing. Once I ate it, I was hooked on the feeling it gave me, the strength, the power I felt after one bite. I couldn't get enough. Once I was old enough to go into the mines, I did and found every last piece of gold I could, and I made the apples I harvested into gold. I ate them as if they were candy. What I didn't realize was that my family was getting older and sicker, while I stayed young and healthy. Later I find out that the juice from the apples somehow mixed into my blood, keeping me from dying. Unfortunately for me, I didn't realize it until it was too late. I was immortal." Technoblade glanced back at Vienna, seeing the sadness in her eyes from hearing his story. He continues.
"I outlived everyone I ever cared about, saw empires and governments fall and all I could do was sit and watch as they slowly drifted away, as it all drifted away. I watched as my mother and father's light in their eyes, that used to burn so damn bright, slowly fade away when they passed. My friends who were so lively before, cripple into nothing more then skin attached to bones, and I stayed the same. I pushed everyone away, knowing that the same fate awaited me, but one day, I met a woman. She made me feel human again with her fiery eyes, the color of burning embers. She was the only person I hadn't pushed away, she was too stubborn, she was the only one I never regretted getting close too. Even though I had lost her in the end.." The man smiles sadly, emotion dripping from every part of his body. The love falling from the tears that welled in his eyes. Vienna wasn't jealous of the woman he was talking about, she knew that with his age, he would've met at least one other. No, Vienna just wanted to know the woman's name.
"What was her name..?" She asked, nearing the pink haired man. Vienna noticed it was long enough to have to be pulled back or braided, so she did. Technoblade didn't question the woman's actions as he felt her hands comb down his hair, pulling it into a braid while Technoblade continued.
"Blaze Issacs, I met her when I was 213 years old." he said, barely above a whisper. "Her mother died when a plague hit, and I shot her with my bow accidently while we were both hunting, that's how we met. She was the love of my life, the light that I thought I had lost for good. She was everything I wanted to be, and more. She was good, kind, and pure." He breathed in a shaky breath, Vienna tying off the braid and gently rubbing his shoulders in comfort. "She eventually died by the same sickness her mother did, and I watched her pass, just like every-single-goddamn-person in my life!" Techno shook, slamming his fist into the wall, making Vienna jump at the sudden reaction. But she didn't stop the man, she just listened to the metallic sounds ringing through the vault.
"Her last words to me were to love her for the rest of her life, yet I swore to love her for the rest of mine. I swore to never to love again, never find love again, right up until I was 396. I realized I could never live without it, but I never fell in love again, that was until I met you." Technoblade said, feeling his heart jump in his chest as he said it. He didn't realize that what he felt for this woman was love. Vienna stopped every action in her body, even her heart skipped a beat. She didn't think he was going to say it, or was even feeling it.
"I love you Vienna, and I can never begin to express the way you make me feel. But you do, you make me feel again." He said, turning to face the, yet again, shocked woman. Despite the heavy conversation they had moments before, Vienna smiled, as did Technoblade. "And I can never repay you for that, for this."
"You can start by kissing me damnit."
So, Technoblade did. He kissed Vienna slowly, softly, proving that he did feel the way he said he did, and Vienna felt his response deep in her bones. The kiss was passionate, but not out of lust. It was just pure love, devotion. They were knee deep in this damned circle and rapidly sinking, and couldn't get out now.
They smiled when they broke apart, heat rushing from their necks onto their faces. They were positive that the feeling was mutual.
When two decided they had spent too much time in the vault, they climbed back up the latter. Technoblade convincing Vienna to eat the apple before they did. They rejoined the others on the surface, heavy souls with lots to tell the world, but light minds.
They never would've guessed that in ten minutes, all hell would break lose.
