The days leading up to the party felt like an eternity for Jungkook. Each passing moment was filled with anticipation and excitement, and his heart was filled with the memory of their unforgettable hangout. He couldn't help but smile whenever he thought of Taehyung's friendly and warm demeanour and how they had shared laughter and moments of genuine connection.

Finally, the day of the party arrived, and Jungkook could barely contain his excitement.

Jungkook found himself eagerly counting down the hours, minutes, and seconds until he would see Taehyung again.

He carefully picked out the outfit he had bought with Taehyung, making sure it was perfect for the occasion. Jungkook wanted to look his best, hoping to catch Taehyung's eye.

He dressed up in the outfit Taehyung had helped him choose and bought him. His heart was pounding with nervousness and eagerness. He wondered if Taehyung would wear the black suit he had picked out for him, the one that had sparked a new connection between them.

Taehyung stood in front of the mirror wearing a black suit. The party was just a few minutes away.

Checking his phone, he noticed apologetic messages from some business friends who wouldn't be able to attend the party. Taehyung humbly replied to them and then shifted his attention to the door as someone knocked.

"Come in," Taehyung said, and a smile formed on his face when he saw his friend, Jisoo. "Hi, Jisoo," he said warmly.

Jisoo returned the smile. "Hi, how have you been doing?"

"Good, and you?" Taehyung asked, watching her place a professional makeup box on the front table near the mirror. Jisoo was a well-known makeup artist and a friend from his university days.

"I'm also good," Jisoo replied as she analysed Taehyung from head to toe. She hummed in approval, saying, "Perfect choice as always."

Taehyung nodded appreciatively and then added, "But this isn't my choice."

Jisoo raised an eyebrow in question: "Aunty or uncle?"

Taehyung shook his head with a smile and said, "Actually, it was chosen and bought by Jungkook."

Jisoo took off her heels, making herself comfortable. "Jungkook? Who's that? I don't think I've heard about him from you."

"He's Uncle Jeon's son," Taehyung explained, and Jisoo's face lit up with recognition.

"Oh, I know him! I've met him a few times at parties. He's a humble and adorable man," she said with admiration.

Taehyung nodded in agreement, saying, "Yes, he is." He then took a seat in front of the mirror, ready for Jisoo to work her magic.

As she began styling his hair and applying light makeup, Jisoo asked, "So, you still haven't chosen your shoes?"

Taehyung admitted with a sheepish smile, "I forgot."

Jisoo playfully rolled her eyes and went inside Taehyung's massive wardrobe. She took out three pairs of black shoes and placed them on the floor.

After assessing the choices, she suggested, "The middle pair will be perfect; what do you think?"

Taehyung nodded in agreement. They perfectly complemented Taehyung's elegant look. Jisoo put the two remaining pairs back in the wardrobe and came back to the room.

"Now, you're all set," Jisoo said, giving Taehyung a final approving look.

"Thank you, Jisoo," Taehyung replied with gratitude. "I couldn't have done it without you."

Jisoo winked playfully. "Of course you couldn't," Taehyung chuckled at his cute friend.

"I have some work, so I'll come back in two hours," Jisoo informed him. Taehyung nodded and said, "Just don't be too late." and Jisoo left.

Taehyung checked himself one last time in the mirror and then made his way towards his parents' room. Namjoon was downstairs checking all the party arrangements, so Taehyung felt a sense of relief.

Taehyung knocked softly on the door. "Mom, Dad, may I come in?" he called out, and the familiar voice of his father, Mr. Kim, replied warmly from inside, "Yes, Baby, come in."

Pushing the door open, Taehyung entered the room, immediately drawn to the sight of his parents getting ready for the party.

His father, Mr. Kim, was seated by the dresser, getting his hair meticulously styled, while his mother, Mrs. Kim, was seated elegantly on the bed, already donning a stunning red attire fit for the occasion.

"Whoa, Mom. You're looking beautiful," Taehyung gasped in genuine adoration as his eyes admired her radiant appearance.

"Thank you, my baby," Mrs. Kim replied with a loving smile. She took a moment to glance at her son, her eyes full of pride and affection, and added, "Handsome as always."

Bashfully accepting the compliment, Taehyung mumbled a thank you before walking over to his mother to give her a warm, heartfelt hug.

Teasingly, Taehyung turned his attention to his father, who was still busy with his hair. "Why didn't you book a stylist, Dad? You'll make my beautiful mom embarrassed," he playfully teased, knowing well that his father had always been a perfectionist.

But Mrs. Kim quickly jumped to her husband's defence, her playful demeanour evident. "He didn't need a stylist. After all, he is my Kim Taehwan. He always comes across as perfect. What source do you suppose your beauty came from? Huh?" She said it with a mix of pride and jest, feeling a bit offended by her son's remark but not truly offended.

Mr. Kim couldn't help but chuckle at the playful exchange between his wife and son. He wished they were alone in the room, so he could show her how much he adored her with his love and shower her with compliments.

"Ok, Ok. I'm sorry, Mrs. Kim. Your husband is perfect." Taehyung lifted his hands in a playful gesture of surrender, unable to resist joining in the laughter.

Mr. Kim beamed with affection at his wife and son, feeling blessed to have such a loving and joyous family. The love between the three of them was evident in the air.

With a warm smile, Taehyung approached his father and said, "Let me help you wear the tie, dad."

He carefully removed the tie from the package and lovingly helped his father put it on. With a sense of pride, Taehyung stepped back, observing his father's dapper appearance.

"Perfect, Mrs. Kim's Mr. Kim," Taehyung playfully teased the beautiful couple, making them both smile.

As Mrs. Kim shyly looked at her husband, her heart fluttered over her son's comment. "Thanks, Babybear," Mr. Kim said, caressing Taehyung's hair affectionately, careful not to ruin his son's perfectly styled hair.

"Handsome!" Mr. Kim praised his son, and then he walked over to his wife. "Honey, you still look stunning as always," he said, tenderly giving her a sweet forehead peck.

Taehyung, with a warm smile, received the phone from his dad, who said, "Click some pictures of us." Taehyung nodded, taking the phone with care.

He positioned himself to capture the beautiful moments and snapped pictures of them, making sure to capture their radiant smiles and loving gestures. Seeing his parents happy filled Taehyung's heart with joy.

Mr. Kim pulled Taehyung over after a few pictures, and they all took a few group selfies, cherishing the intimate moments they shared as a family.

Despite knowing that renowned media professionals and photographers would be present at the event to take flawless photos, they were all well aware that these candid pictures captured by Taehyung held priceless value.

After a few minutes, Taehyung sent the images to his own phone, lovingly looking at each picture before sending it.

As he scrolled through the images, his heart felt a pang when he saw a specific photo where Mr. Kim was affectionately pecking Mrs. Kim's cheek.

That picture reminded him of Jimin's whines: "Yaa, stop pecking my cheeks; my makeup will be ruined." Jimin almost always whined like a baby whenever he kissed his cheeks.

Swiftly returning his father's phone, Taehyung walked towards the door, his emotions slightly overwhelming him.

"Come down shortly. The celebration is about to start," he mumbled with a hint of urgency in his voice, trying to hide the emotions welling up inside him.

However, his wet eyes and shaky voice didn't go unnoticed by his parents, who exchanged concerned glances.

"Should I approach him?" Mr. Kim asked, looking at his wife, who was equally worried about Taehyung.

Mrs. Kim sighed softly, her heart filled with love and understanding for her son. "No. He will feel sad, thinking that he has made us sad even on this special occasion. We ought to give him some time, Hwan; don't worry," she said, her voice reassuring as she wrapped her arms around her husband in a tight embrace, cherishing the love they shared as a family.

Taehyung's heartache felt unbearable as he sat alone in his room, tears streaming down his cheeks like a river flowing freely. Closing the door firmly behind him, he sought solace against its cold surface, hugging his knees tightly to his chest as if trying to hold his shattered emotions together.

His words choked with sorrow, Taehyung poured out his feelings, blaming himself for being a disappointment to his loving parents. They had always gone above and beyond to fulfil his every desire, showering him with endless love and support throughout his life. But in return, he felt he had given them nothing but trouble and disappointment.

What have they done for you since childhood? They fulfilled your every wish, and what did you give them in return? Just trouble... You are the worst son in the world." Taehyung's voice quivered as he struggled to articulate his emotions, his sentences fragmented by his uncontrollable sobs.

His heart weighed heavily, not only with the burden of his parents' love but also with the pain of a lost love—Jimin, his doll. Memories of Jimin flooded his mind, a bittersweet mix of joy and sorrow.

Taehyung remembered the day they first met during their third year of graduation—a beautiful freshman who had pranked him for a dare. Despite the initial prank, Taehyung couldn't help but be captivated by Jimin's smiling eyes, and soon they became inseparable.

When Taehyung learned about Jimin's difficult childhood, his heart broke for him, and he vowed to be there for Jimin as a pillar of support and love. He took on the roles of both father and mother, showering Jimin with affection, understanding, and forgiveness, determined to never let him feel the lack of anyone's love.

Yet, despite his relentless efforts to give Jimin everything he needed emotionally and physically, their relationship became toxic. Taehyung found himself constantly giving, while Jimin seemed to take without ever giving back. Still, Taehyung held onto hope, hoping that someday Jimin would learn to return his love and appreciation.

But that hope was shattered when Jimin suddenly cut him out of his life without a word of explanation, ending their four-year relationship and leaving Taehyung heartbroken and questioning everything.

Taehyung's pain was too much to bear, and he couldn't help but call out Jimin's name in anguish, as if his cry could bring him back, as if it could mend the cracks in his heart. "argh! I miss you, doll."

Amidst the noise of the party downstairs in the mansion, Taehyung's cries went unheard by his parents, who would have been devastated to see their beloved son in such pain. He longed for a way to mend the broken pieces of his heart, to heal the wounds left by lost love and the sense of inadequacy he felt towards his parents.

For now, he was left alone with his tears and memories, grappling with the pain of losing the love of his life. As the time flowed slowly, Taehyung found himself enveloped in darkness, hoping that somehow, in time, his heart would find a way to mend itself and rediscover the happiness he once knew.

Taehyung's heart felt heavy as he wiped away his tears, trying to clear his blurry vision. His phone rang, and he quickly picked up the call. It was Namjoon on the line, reminding him that it was time to come down for the party.

"I'm coming in ten minutes," Taehyung replied in a subdued tone before ending the call. He took a deep breath, trying to compose himself before facing the world outside his room.

Feeling tired and emotionally drained, Taehyung walked into the washroom to freshen up. He splashed water on his face, trying to wash away the evidence of his tears. After drying his face, he applied a bit of makeup to hide his red nose and slightly swollen eyes from crying.

Once he felt presentable again, Taehyung made his way downstairs, trying to put on a brave face. He knew he had to wear a smile, even if it was fake, for the sake of his parents and the guests at the party. Deep down, he wished he could just escape and be alone, but he didn't want to disappoint his parents or ruin the celebration.

Taehyung greeted the guests with warmth, trying his best to appear cheerful and happy. However, behind that smile, there was a turmoil of emotions he couldn't shake off.

As Jungkook descended the stairs, he noticed his mother and walked over to her, giving her a big smile. "You're looking beautiful, Eomma," he said warmly, admiring his mother's elegant attire.

Mrs. Jeon looked up from her phone and returned his smile. "And you're handsome," she complimented, her eyes shining with pride for her son.

Jungkook mumbled a shy thank-you. Mrs. Jeon checked the time and then looked at Jungkook. "Your Appa will take some time, so you go ahead. We will come in a few more minutes," she said.

Jungkook nodded and bid his mother goodbye before heading out.

Jungkook's heart was beating with excitement as he drove to the Kim Mansion for the party. He couldn't wait to see Taehyung again and show him the effort he had put into getting ready. His delicate platinum earrings shimmered under the soft glow of the car's interior lights, and he couldn't help but feel a rush of nerves and happiness.

As he arrived at the grand entrance of the Kim Mansion, Jungkook took a deep breath to calm his nerves. He stepped out of the car, his heart pounding with anticipation. He adjusted his outfit, making sure everything was in place, and applied a final touch of gloss to his lips.

With each step he took towards the entrance, Jungkook's excitement grew. He couldn't help but blush at the thought of meeting Taehyung again. The memory of their last hangout at the shopping mall made his heart flutter with joy.

As he walked through the grand hallways of the mansion, he couldn't help but feel nervous.

Finally reaching the main party area, Jungkook's eyes immediately started searching for Taehyung. The room was filled with guests, laughter, but all he wanted was to catch a glimpse of Taehyung's smiling face. His doe eyes shone with hope and excitement.

A big, genuine smile formed on Jungkook's face, his bunny teeth peeking out, and his cheeks flushed as he spotted Taehyung seated somewhere. "He's wearing my chosen outfit," Jungkook thought proudly, his heart swelling with joy.

But as Jungkook took a few steps closer, his eyes inadvertently landed on the person sitting beside Taehyung, and his heart seemed to stop. The smile on his face faded, as if it no longer mattered. Taehyung was sitting there with Jimin.

In that moment, Jungkook's hopes came crashing down. He realised again that he couldn't have Taehyung for himself. He never had a place in Taehyung's life. It seemed that there was still no place for him in Taehyung's life or at this party.

The weight of his emotions became too much to bear. Jungkook knew he had to leave, just like he had done in the past. With tears welling up in his eyes, he turned away, walking from the scene, not wanting anyone to see him like this.

"Don't cry, don't cry," he chanted to himself as he walked towards the exit, desperate to find a quiet place to be alone. He felt hurt, disappointed, and rejected, but he didn't want to burden anyone else with his pain.

Just as he was about to step outside, a very familiar voice called out his name from behind. "hey, Jungkook."

Jungkook sighed inwardly, not sure if he was ready to face anyone at that moment, especially not when his emotions were so raw and overwhelming. He wanted to run, be alone, and cry.
