The morning sun lazily crept through the windows, painting their penthouse with hues of gold. Taehyung, dressed in a crisply tailored suit, stood in front of the mirror, attempting to tame his black tie. The quiet of the morning was broken by the gentle rhythm of water as Jungkook showered.

As the bathroom door creaked open, Jungkook's wet hair and the aroma of his shampoo filled the air. Jungkook approached Taehyung with a fond smile on his lips. "Your morning kiss," he whispered, and Taehyung obliged. He left his tie undone for a moment, and their lips met in a soft, sweet morning kiss.

When Taehyung attempted to pull his towel, Jungkook's strong arm playfully stopped him. Jungkook broke the kiss with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "We're getting late, Mr. Kim," he teased. Taehyung chuckled and nodded, resuming the process of tying his tie.

"We're going to have breakfast at a restaurant," Taehyung informed.

As Jungkook emerged from the wardrobe, buttoning his shirt, he inquired, "Really?" His arms found their way around Taehyung from behind, seeking the warmth of his embrace.

Taehyung confirmed, "Yes. You remember that morning meeting I had two weeks ago? I had breakfast with the CEO at a new restaurant and tried a few dishes I liked." He let Jungkook peck his cheek from behind, savouring the affection.

With a sense of togetherness and excitement for the day ahead, they held hands and left the penthouse. Taehyung clutched his briefcase, Jungkook shouldering his university bag, ready for a morning filled with new experiences and shared moments.

___

The lunch hour approached, and Taehyung eagerly took out his phone, prepared to hear Jungkook's voice. They often talked during lunch; it was a comforting routine they had established.

However, confusion clouded Taehyung's face as the automated voice informed him that Jungkook's phone was switched off. Puzzled, he decided to wait a few minutes and call again, all the while growing more concerned. Their lunch timings were synchronised, so this was unusual.

Watching the time on his watch tick by, he dialled Jungkook's number again. Still, there was no response. Worry crept into Taehyung's mind, and he contemplated heading to the nearest restaurant after

As Taehyung was lost in these thoughts, Namjoon entered the cabin. Sensing Taehyung's worry, Namjoon gently nudged him back to reality: "Mr. Kim, this file needs to be analysed by you."

"Taehyung," Namjoon called softly, concern in his eyes. "what happened?"

Taehyung snapped back, a cloud of worry still lingering. "Jungkook isn't receiving my calls, Hyung. It's not like him," he explained, placing the phone on the table.

Namjoon tried to reassure him: "He must be busy, Taehyung." With a calming breath, Taehyung took the file and started focusing on his work, although his mind couldn't help but wander to Jungkook, hoping he was okay.

Jungkook stepped out of his final class, scanning the corridor for Lisa, who hadn't joined him for the lecture.

After a few minutes of searching, he spotted Lisa engaged in a lively conversation with four guys. They had become Lisa's friends over the past two months at the university.

Walking towards her, a sense of suspicion crept over Jungkook. As he approached, Lisa grabbed his wrist and led him towards the ground, a water-filled balloon clutched in her other hand.

"Hurry up; we don't have much time."

"What's happening?" Jungkook inquired, a perplexed expression on his face.

"Just play along and pretend to be my boyfriend," Lisa whispered with a mischievous smile, all set to complete a dare from her four friends.

Jungkook hesitated, pulling his hand away from Lisa's grip. She shot him a challenging look. Lisa's attention quickly shifted as she noticed a middle-aged man approaching from one of the classrooms.

She swiftly grabbed Jungkook's hand, and they dove behind a nearby wall.

"Don't tell me you're planning to—" Jungkook began, but before he could finish his sentence, Lisa made her move. There was a sudden splash and the sound of water as Lisa flung the balloon, hitting the man.

Lisa gasped, showcasing her acting skills. "Oh my god, Professor, t-this wasn't for you," she exclaimed.

"I-I was just playing around with my boyfriend, and it accidentally happened," Lisa stammered, stealing a glance back at Jungkook.

Observing Jungkook peeking from behind the wall, Lisa sent him a desperate glare, silently commanding his support in this predicament.

An impish idea sparked in Jungkook's mind as he boldly stepped into the unfolding scene. The professor didn't seem pleased with Lisa's actions.

Thinking on his feet, Jungkook pulled out a handkerchief and offered it to the professor. The professor accepted it, shooting Lisa a stern look and demanding an explanation.

Before Lisa could further weave her acting skills, Jungkook sighed dramatically, shaking his head in apparent disappointment. "I can't believe this, Lisa. Your boyfriend dared you to harass our lovely, respectful professor, and you actually did it. I'm ashamed even to be called your friend; argh, how could you do this?" he scolded.

The professor's gaze shifted to Lisa, eyebrows furrowed at this new piece of information. She swallowed nervously.

Jungkook bowed respectfully to the professor and continued, "I apologise on behalf of my friend, sir. Please don't punish her. This is only the third harassment in the last two months caused by her."

Lisa clenched her jaw, trying to interject, "You little fucker, Professor, let me explain, I—" but the professor cut her off with a growl, "ENOUGH! Follow me to the office."

Muttering apologies, Lisa scurried after the professor, giving Jungkook an alert: "You Kim Jungkook, don't forget that Mummy Lisa will surely seek her revenge."

Jungkook shrugged his shoulders, not taking Lisa's warning too seriously, and made his way out of the university, expecting it would take some time for Lisa to leave.

A broad smile lit up his face when he saw Taehyung waiting for him by the car, even though it was during Taehyung's office hours. He was excited, thinking Taehyung had planned some surprises for him.

Hastily approaching Taehyung, Jungkook was about to jump into a hug, but Taehyung's raised hand halted him, a troubled expression on his face.

"Where's your phone?" Taehyung asked, his voice quiet.

Confused, Jungkook looked at him and realised Taehyung must have tried to call him during lunch, their usual routine.

He silently took out his phone and showed it to Taehyung, who sighed—the phone was broken.

Taehyung gently pulled him closer by his waist and asked, "How did this happen?" Jungkook felt relieved as he noticed Taehyung's features soften.

"I was on the top floor when someone bumped into me, causing the phone to drop," Jungkook explained, sounding a little sad.

Taehyung moved Jungkook's hair back tenderly. "Don't worry, we'll buy a new one before going home. But you should have informed me using a friend's phone. I got worried. It's thanks to the university head who told me you're fine and in the university attending classes; otherwise, I would have come to see you a few hours earlier."

Jungkook, surprised and taken aback, voiced his astonishment, his eyes widening in disbelief. "You called the university head?"

Taehyung, his features etched with concern, nodded gravely. "I was worried, baby. I called Lisa a few times, but she didn't pick up my calls. She must have put her phone on silent. I wanted to come, but there was a meeting to be held. So, I called the university head to confirm that you're fine," Taehyung explained, his worry palpable in his words.

"I'm sorry," Jungkook murmured, guilt colouring his expression, and he gently pecked Taehyung's lips, seeking reassurance. "It's totally fine now," Taehyung reassured him, a warm smile gracing his lips.

However,Jungkook suddenly flinched in Taehyung's arms as a sharp, shrill scream pierced the air, directed at Jungkook.

"KIM FUCKING FAT ASS JUNGKOOOOOK!" The voice, undoubtedly belonging to Lisa, reverberated through the evening, shattering the fragile tranquilly.

Startled, Jungkook and Taehyung turned their heads in unison, their eyes locking onto the figure of Lisa a few paces away. Her eyes were red, filled with anger.

Panic gnawed at Jungkook, his mind racing at the thought of Lisa embarrassing him in front of Taehyung. And what if she talked about her boyfriend pretending thing?

"Hyungie, save me. Let's start the car," he stammered, the embarrassment and discomfort evident in his voice.

But Taehyung was already surging forward, his anger flaring at the complimentary words showered on his beloved husband.

"How dare she think about my husband's ass?" he seethed, a fiery determination in his eyes propelling him towards Lisa, ready to confront the source of the words, which only he had the right to utter.

Yet, before things could escalate further, Jungkook acted swiftly, grabbing Taehyung from behind, effectively halting any potential confrontation.

"Let's go, Hyung. We'll talk about it later," Jungkook suggested, his voice calm yet urging, trying to defuse the mounting tension.

"Come on, Hyung," Jungkook called gently, his voice carrying a soothing note as he swiftly slid into the driver's seat, coaxing Taehyung to join him and leave the turbulent scene behind.

Understanding the wisdom in Jungkook's words, Taehyung took a deep breath, his gaze lingering on Lisa with a stern warning glare before he reluctantly retreated and got into the passenger seat.

The atmosphere inside the car was still tinged with the aftermath of the confrontation; Taehyung's initial rage was still there.

He flipped his hair back and let out a sigh, trying to brush off the lingering annoyance. "How dare she compliment my husband's ass?" he huffed.

Jungkook turned towards Taehyung, momentarily distracted from the road, his hand still resting on the steering wheel. He was astonished by Taehyung's response.

"Did you really find that a compliment? Really, hyung? a fat ass, huh?" he questioned, a note of disbelief in his voice.

Taehyung met Jungkook's gaze with a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. He leaned back comfortably in his seat, ready to engage in their playful banter.

"Ask a top how lucky it is to get a partner with a fat ass," Taehyung quipped, his words dripping with playful audacity.

"Hyung," Jungkook scolded, feeling the heat rising to his cheeks, caught off guard by Taehyung's brazen comment. His eyes flickered between the road and his mischievous husband, trying to maintain his composure.

Taehyung couldn't help but laugh at Jungkook's flustered reaction, thoroughly enjoying their lighthearted exchange. He shifted back to a more serious note, contemplating the situation at hand.

"But seriously, why is she always so obsessed with my husband's ass?" Taehyung wondered aloud, the anger returning to his features.

"Maybe... like brother-in-law, like sister-in-law," Jungkook teased, recalling the times when Taehyung had humorously fixated on his ass, a light-hearted way to deflect the tension and share a chuckle.

"I'm not to blame, though. Did you look at your own ass?" Taehyung responded with a playful glint in his eyes, nudging Jungkook playfully.

"Hyung, shut up," Jungkook scolded, his embarrassment giving way to a smile as their banter continued, weaving a sense of familiarity and comfort as they navigated their way back home. Their laughter and easy camaraderie in these moments of joy reminded them of the strength of their bond, always there to lighten the mood and bring joy.

___

Amidst the tranquilly of their shared space and nighttime peacefulness, Jungkook and Taehyung were entwined in the embrace of slumber, a peaceful tableau that held the essence of love and serenity. Their breathing was synchronised, the gentle rise and fall of their chests mirroring the harmony of their hearts.

Taehyung opened his eyes and was greeted by the sight of his husband's peaceful, pretty face. A tender smile graced his lips as he gazed at the sight that never failed to fill him with gratitude. Jungkook lay sleeping snuggled against him, their bond a tapestry of warmth and affection that had only deepened over the past two months.

Jungkook's hand remained wrapped around his waist, and Taehyung took a moment to gently caress his husband's hair, a gesture born of love and adoration. He carefully manoeuvred, detangling himself from Jungkook's embrace, a sense of contentment coursing through him as he watched the younger man sleep.

Mindful not to disturb Jungkook's peaceful repose, Taehyung slid out of bed with a silent grace. He tenderly pulled the sheet up to cover Jungkook, ensuring he stayed warm and comfortable. The brief separation was a fleeting necessity, for duty called.

Quietly, he gathered his laptop and briefcase, knowing that work awaited him. There was a pressing file to analyse and hand over to Namjoon that night.

In the daytime, he hadn't completed it at the office, his mind preoccupied with worry as Jungkook hadn't been responsive to his calls.

He thought to share his work concerns with Jungkook, but he didn't want to burden him. He remembered a time when he had begun working after dinner, and Jungkook had stayed awake with him, confessing how difficult it was to fall asleep without Taehyung by his side. Taehyung smiled at the memory, the warmth of it carrying him as he settled on the sofa, setting his briefcase and laptop on the table.

In the quiet solitude of the living room, Taehyung began delving into his work, his heart tethered to Jungkook.

The weight of fatigue tugged at Taehyung's limbs as he stretched his body, yearning for the familiar comfort of Jungkook's warmth. It had been a long day, and the weariness in his bones craved solace.

But duty called, and he knew he had to push through for a little longer. He retrieved his phone and dialled Namjoon's number, updating him on the progress of the file. In a few minutes, Namjoon would arrive to collect it, and this task would be behind him.

A sigh escaped Taehyung's lips, a mix of regret for not being able to join Jungkook in bed yet and relief knowing that the end of his work was near.

His gaze softened as he watched Jungkook enter the hall, clad in a cosy red sweater and black half pants, rubbing his eyes in a manner that tugged at Taehyung's heart. Jungkook was undeniably adorable, even in his sleep-rumpled state.

"You pretended to be asleep just to make me sleep? You should have just told me," Jungkook mumbled in his drowsy state, making a space for himself on the sofa.

He lay down, nestling his head into Taehyung's lap, seeking the comfort and security only Taehyung could provide. One of his cheeks pressed gently against Taehyung's thigh, finding solace in the proximity and the soothing rhythm of Taehyung's presence.

Taehyung's hand found its way into Jungkook's soft curls, a tender touch that conveyed love and reassurance. "I just wanted you to sleep peacefully," Taehyung whispered softly, cherishing this intimate connection even amidst work.

Jungkook hummed in a state of half-sleep, a slight frown forming on his brow as he asked, "How much more time will it take?"

Taehyung began to focus on his work, clicking buttons on his laptop and flipping through pages of the file. "Just a few more minutes," he assured, wanting to complete his task and join Jungkook in the sweet embrace of slumber.

Observing Jungkook slightly shrink and feeling the chill of the hall, Taehyung felt a gentle ache in his heart.

"hey, precious, will you wait a bit? I'll bring a sheet for you," Taehyung offered, preparing to carefully adjust Jungkook's head on the sofa. Yet, Jungkook declined the offer.

"I'm fine, Hyung. Focus on your work," Jungkook said, his voice laced with the impending return of sleep.

"Okay," Taehyung pecked his cheek. In this simple exchange, their love and care for one another were evident, their actions reflecting an unspoken understanding and desire to make the other's life a little more comfortable and content.

In the quiet of that moment, amidst the soft hum of the laptop and the tender touch of Taehyung's hand, they found solace in each other—an enduring comfort.

Taehyung, immersed in his work, felt a comforting weight against his lap as Jungkook lay there, finding solace in the presence of his beloved husband.

As the minutes slipped by, Taehyung stole occasional glances at Jungkook, an affectionate smile playing on his lips as he watched his pretty husband's peaceful slumber.

The notification chimed on his phone, announcing Namjoon's arrival.

Taehyung needed to ensure a smooth transition between his duty and his personal life. He carefully leaned down and planted a gentle peck on Jungkook's forehead, his heart fluttering at how Jungkook smiled in his sleep at this small, affectionate gesture.

Taehyung slowly shifted Jungkook, ensuring he was comfortable before making his way towards the door. He had to be quiet to not disturb Jungkook's restful state.

"You finished?" Jungkook asked, blinking his eyes. He sat on the sofa.

"yes. go to the room. I'll be there after handing the file to Namjoon Hyung," Taehyung informed Jungkook, his voice gentle and reassuring.

Jungkook responded with a contented hum, understanding and appreciating Taehyung's dedication. their connection was palpable even in the silence of the night.

As Taehyung opened the door and invited Namjoon in, he extended an offer of hospitality, suggesting a drink, but Namjoon politely declined, citing the lateness of the hour. Taehyung watched him depart, and when he returned to the hall, he found Jungkook patiently waiting for him.

"You're still here," Taehyung remarked, a soft smile gracing his features as he took Jungkook's hand, ready to retreat to the sanctuary of their bedroom.

Hand in hand, they ascended the stairs, the warmth of their connection grounding them in the present moment.

Taehyung sealed the end of the night with a tender peck on Jungkook's lips, a satisfied hum escaping him. Jungkook playfully sighed and muttered, "Um, don't provoke me," with a playful glint in his voice.

Taehyung heartily chuckled, his laughter echoing in the quiet night. "It was just a peck," he defended playfully, wrapping his arm around Jungkook's waist as they ventured into the realm of dreams, seeking the sweet embrace of each other's warmth. The night held them close, cradling them in the love they found in each other, a love that would endure and illuminate the days to come.
