November 5th

Taylin was asleep when Laylani heard her phone ring for the fifth time in a row, growing annoyed because it wasn't even three in the morning.

"Hello?" She asked groggily, putting the phone on speaker.

"You got that trifling ass attitude and imma come up there and beat the fuck out of you bi-" Laylani recognized the voice and hung up, realizing it was payson on the other end.

It rang again and she rolled her eyes before blocking the number.

Her phone rang again, but from a different number this time. She answered and the loud voice rang off again, making her laugh.

"And bitch-"

"Why are you mad at me... over my boyfriend?" She asked tiredly, genuinely not understanding the girls problem with her.

"You got me fired and bitch he don't even love yo-"

"Sorry to say but you got yourself fired. And he definitely loves me, if that affects you in any way I apologize deeply, it must hurt to be a dumb incompetent bitch. Goodnight." Laylani hung up and turned her phone off, hearing Tay laugh from beside her.

"What happened to 'I'm not worried about you, do what you want with her since you gon do all the wrong things with me'?"

"I will politely beat that bitch up. Don't call me about my baby daddy, I thought that was common sense but I guess not." She turned over and he laughed harder, making her roll her eyes.

"But I'm single."

"I'm not in the mood, goodnight."

Taylin flung his leg over her to be annoying and she tried pushing it off but failed miserable.

"You gon buy me 2k?"

"Sure, goodnight."

"You only saying that so I'll leave you alone? Cause all my friends got 2k except for me and you said you'd bu-"

"First of all, you don't have any friends. Second of all, I already bought it but I took it back to the store because you wanted to show yo ass. So I'll go get a new one when I feel like it." She yawned and scooted back against him, liking sound of his heart beat.

He could go buy it himself but he didn't want to because it felt better when she bought him his stuff.

He liked being babied and she did it, which was another reason he was attached to her all day everyday.

Taylin wasn't incapable of doing things on his own he just didn't have to. She was nurturing by nature so when he ate she cleaned the dishes, when the dirty clothes basket was full she emptied it.

But she did it because she wanted to, not because someone made her or pressured her through guilt tripping. If she didn't do clean up after him or he didn't question her or remind her he just did it on his own.

"We back together? I'm tired of going out with my friends I don't even like them." He said honestly, rubbing his stomach.

"Hm. I guess. Next time you won't get a peep from me cause imma be road running. So appreciate me while I'm here, knowing you you gon do some dumb shit again, so I'm not getting too comfortable." She said tiredly, turning over again.

"You are so damn moody. Before we went to bed you was all in my face now you wanna act like a dickhead."

"I'm tired. Goodnight." She'd been really distant lately and it was annoying him.

Laylani's phone heard the house phone ring and laughed in disbelief.

"No way." She muttered before she reached over and answered.

"Bitch you turn yo ph-" She turned the house phone off and took the batteries out while Tay laughed under his breath.

"What is wrong with this bitch? She acting like you had a baby, proposed, then turned out to have a girlfriend and a daughter like get it together you fuckin psycho. The more she call me the more I dislike you." Laylani hit him again, making him laugh harder.

"Imma tell her to beat yo ass, keep on hitting me. I'm starting to like my lil stalker." He teased.

"Keep on playin."

"What kind of girls you like?" Haven asked Xander who was spacing out. He had to stay after for detention and some girl and her friends were bothering him.

They got on live and asked him if they could ask questions, not expecting him to say yes. But he did because he was bored.

"Quiet." He said shortly, yawning as he held his head up with his hand.

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

"Yeah."

"Who is she?"

"None of y'all.."

"Is she your type?"

"No."

"How?"

He grew annoyed at the boring questions and pulled his phone out, deciding he was done answering questions.

"I said how?"

"Wait a fuckin minute." Xander called Jaylani and she answered right before it would've went to voicemail, making him stank face the phone.

When she answered she was smacking on hot Cheetos with her bonnet on.

"Da fuck you callin me fa it's 5 in the afternoon nigg-"

"Rude ass hoe I hate you I was tryna be nice and show my girlfriend off but you wanna act like a clown. Bye. Have fun at the circus." He hung up in her face and she was on the end of the line laughing at his childish temper.

"Who was that?"

"My girlfriend." He shrugged, hearing his phone ring.

"She don't seem quiet."

"She's not my type. I just said that. She's quiet but only around other people. Y'all got a class with her." He laughed under his breath and answered the phone, flipping it around and showing everybody her ghetto set up as she immediately began cussing him out.

"And don't hang up on me bi- oop wha- bye!" Jaylani gasped and hung up when she saw other people looking at her.

"Jay?" A boy in the back of the class asked, making Xanders eyebrow raise.

"Jaylani."

"Yeah her. She a sophomore right?"

"Yeah, you know her?" He asked innocently.

"We used to talk."

Xander laughed and shrugged, not wanting to be annoyed over something that had nothing to do with him. He was too old to be worried about childish shit like that.

"Aight, Imma fuck witcha." He said before standing up and walking out randomly.

"You have 35 minutes of dete-"

"Detention can suck my dick. The fuck you on." He ignored the teacher but came back in when he remembered something.

Xander walked towards the boy and sat down next to him, picking his phone up off of the desk.

"What-"

"What's yo password?" He asked casually, making the boy look at him sideways.

"I'm not givi-" the boy looked at Xander wondering if he was serious then froze up when he noticed the tattoo going down the side of his neck. He was trying to stick up for himself but he had second thoughts on arguing with someone like him.

"Just give it to me and we can be friends." He lied, smiling when Michael unlocked it.

He immediately went to the boys messages and looked for Jaylanis number, seeing nothing interesting when he got there. It was just Michael messaging her over and over again with no response.

"Fuck you wasting my time for?" He asked with a mug on his face before carelessly throwing the phone to the side and walking to the door.

Michael didn't really know what to say. He'd never had someone talk to him that way.

"You left your bookbag." A girl said quickly.

"It ain't mine." Xander brushed her off and left knowing she just wanted an excuse to speak to him. It couldn't have been his because he didn't bring anything but his phone and a mechanical pencil to school.

He got bored and went on his Instagram, seeing hundreds of notifications. Jaylani always told him to post then got mad when girls commented. He wondered if she wanted him to be ugly or something, if not why did it shock or annoy her when people talked to him.

When he got to Jaylanis room he looked around before walking in and seeing her asleep. She slept as soon as she got home, which he didn't understand. He couldn't just take a nap for no reason unless she was asleep next to him.

"Xan." She said groggily, rubbing her eyes when she heard him kick his shoes off.

"My name Michael."

"Stop playin. Get out my face." She muttered before throwing her leg over his waist when he laid down next to her.

"Stop that shit hurt dumbass." Xander hissed and slapped her hand away when she slapped his arm to be annoying, hurting the recent tattoo he'd gotten.

"Awww when you get this?" She moved the blanket back and observed his arm, rolling her eyes when he covered it with his other hand.

"Lemme see."

"It say jaylani." He lied, seeing her face go into a mug.

"It bet not."

She hated when people tattooed their partners name on them. Especially when they were on and off couples. But of course she knew he was joking.

She'd never even consider doing something like that because her and Xander broke up all the time and she never really knew if they'd get back together until they did.

"It do."

"You're a dumbass." She popped his hand knowing he was lying and he laughed, moving his arm out of the way so she could see what it actually said.

It said EBK in bold with smoke in the background making her eyes roll to the back of her head. Of course it'd be some ghetto shit. She looked at it and recognized the style, realizing her dad did it. It was a nice tattoo.

"Mm ion know what I'm gettin next but I know I want more. Skin is boring." He said as Jaylani turned his head to the side and looked at the one wrapping around his neck.

"You so fine." Jaylani said under her breath, taking it all in. She didn't compliment him often because he was so arrogant already. He never spoke on it out loud but he knew he looked good.

Xander licked his lips and grew shy when he felt her staring so he sat up and turned on her TV.

For Christmas Laylani got her a shirt that said "I πŸ’šhood niggas" and Nasir threw it away just for her to buy her another one that matched the one she had.

When he began playing the game she got extremely bored and rolled back over knowing he'd be in his own world for the next three hours.

"Why the fuck are you here everyday?" Nasir asked, randomly peaking his head in the door.

"Why shouldn't I be here everyday?" He said smartly, taking advantage of his position. Nasir wouldn't shoot at him because he was in Jaylani's room but he'd definitely catch a bad one under all other circumstances.

"Ready to get the fuck! ASAP!" Nasir slammed the door and Xander laughed, hearing the other boys laugh as they listened through his mic on the game.

He played for a few more minutes before Jaylani got bored and decided to annoy him.

"What you playin?" She asked innocently, laying her head on his lap.

"A game called 'move before I rock yo annoying ass'. I'm not in the mood today." He pushed her away and she rolled her eyes.

"Tez got a girlfriend?"

"I just said I don't feel like playin. Imma hurt yo stankin ass feelings in a minute."

"But I wanna play." Jaylani rolled over and tooted her butt up, getting a shrug from Xander. She was always bullshitting just because she didn't have anything to do.

"Okay thank you stay still." He continued playing the game but held onto her butt with the other hand, not paying her any mind.

"You ugly ashit fuck don't forget to mention ass at this game. Yo PlayStation friends cute?"

"You're trash bro why are you mad at me? Ass ass nigga I will deadass spit on ya moms fuck ass yoboy, you got me fucked up." Xander ranted, moving his hand faster as his eyes got glued to the TV.

"What time you picking me up?" She spoke into her headphones knowing she'd get his attention.

"Sike you don't even got no friends no way you got another nigga. Nice try. You want some attention so bad suck my dick while I play 2k then we can talk about sum." He teased, feeling her punch him in the chest.

"Yeah I'm coming." She unplugged the headphones and Tez spoke trying not to laugh.

"He with you?"

"The fuck? You go-"

"Aight, Imma fuck witcha." Tez said before hanging up.

Xander continued to ignore her knowing she just wanted some attention but that was too bad. She occupied 95% of his time and then 3% were his thoughts about her when she wasn't around. He was gonna take his last 2% and play the game until his hands fell off.

Jaylani got annoyed and rolled over, feeling herself tear up. She rubbed her eyes and sucked it up quietly knowing she had no legitimate reason to be crying. It ran in the family.

She fell asleep quickly and before she could even get into it he shook her body.

"Get up Jay."

"Leave me alone I'm sleeping." She snapped, still having her attitude from earlier.

"You get mad over the dumbest shit. I try to be nice but you really just aggravate the fuck out of me. Bye, stupid ass girl." He grabbed his phone like he was leaving and got up.

"I don't even remember why I was mad so whatever. Bye replaceable." She said dismissively before getting up and grabbing her phone off the nightstand.

When he began leaving she frowned and went to grab his arm, catching him off guard.

"What?"

"Why you leaving?"

"You just told me to.."

"So? You know I ain't mean it..."

Jaylani looked up at him and burst out laughing when she noticed the aggravated look on his face. She got on his nerves solely for entertainment purposes.

"I'm getting back on the game." Xander said honestly, making her face scrunch up but go back to normal quickly.

"Okay." She made sure she didn't visibly have an attitude and got back on her bed, paying attention to her phone.

"You good?" He looked over at her and she didn't respond, thinking to herself quickly. Jaylani crawled towards him and laid in his lap comfortably, making him laugh.

"Don't you gotta check in with yo p.o?"

"I cut that shit off imma say I got jumped and it broke." He shrugged, making her smack his arm.

"They gon lock yo stupid ass up."

"I'm violating my parole as we speak so fuck it." Xander had his eyes stuck to the tv as he casually told her he'd already violated his probation multiple times.

"You need to start caring about your future."

"I'm good."

Xander didn't like talking about his future. He never really thought about it because he never really cared.

"I'm serious." Jaylani closed her eyes in peace when one of his arms wrapped around her waist.

"It's not a big deal. I like fast money, I don't want a degree to be honest. Everybody want me to grow up and be like Tay but we just not the same person. He likes being babied and wants kids and a picket fence and shit." He grew annoyed and she could tell by his tone.

"What do you like to do?" She asked seriously, getting a strange look from him.

"I don't know." Xander tossed the remote to the side and gave her his undivided attention.

"You still like music?"

"Don't wanna talk about it." He said quickly, catching her off guard. She just nodded and kissed his jaw lightly, understanding why it might not have been for him.

The last time he was in a studio he overdosed and almost died. If he tried getting in one again he'd probably have a heart attack with how the flash backs would flood in.

"Stop." He blushed when he felt her looking at him and grew annoyed.

Jaylani placed a kiss on his neck and he sucked in a breath before pushing her away. She was always trying to get under his skin and he knew that.

When he protested the first time she ignored him and sucked on his neck, laughing when she felt him begin to sit really still.

"You okay?"

".... you think you grown now?" He asked seriously, feeling the new hickey on his neck pulse. That was most definitely gonna come out purple.

"Maybe. Just a tad bit." Jaylani joked before turning to face him so she could continue. She used to be really uptight when it came to physical contact but it just wasn't that serious anymore.

She was scared she'd get called grown or a hoe but she had a boyfriend, not multiple, and when you're dating for almost 10 months of course you're doing more than holding hands and hugging.

He even felt bad at first, he almost felt like he was ruining her but the truth was that's just what happened. When you're dating you wanna kiss and touch eachother.

Jaylani kissed him because she liked to, not because someone pressured and guilted her into it. If she was being grown oh well, she was enjoying herself.

"Does it bother you that I don't.. you know?" She asked shyly, leaning back against the bed as her legs stayed wrapped around him. Her fingers intertwined with his as she looked at the ceiling.

"No. It's pointless. Imagine thinking you can beat my dick better than me anyways." He said honestly, unphased by her non existing sexual appetite or whatever he perceived it to be. He was 16 and she was 15, of course there would be a difference in interest.

"I'm not talking about that." She sat up and looked at him, seeing him raise an eyebrow. They looked at eachother suggestively before he nodded and pulled away from her.

"Nope bye." Xander said quickly, making her roll her eyes.

"Ok." Jaylani turned to face the TV and he laughed loudly, noticing her blatant attitude. She hated hearing no even if it was for the best.

"You still in the dog house?" Andrew asked from over the phone when he noticed Taylin's negative aura.

"Maybe. Not really. Sort of. She keeps fuckin playin with her stupid bony ass like do you forgive me or not nobody has time to be playing games especially over some shit that you've been mad about for over a month." He snapped, looking over at Laylani who seemed to not care.

"Everytime forgive you, you get on my nerves again. I'm not annoyed about that anymore I'm annoyed with you." She used emphasis and he went to a ten in 1 second.

"Fuck you mean bruh I've been tryin all the fuck you do is complain! Is it that hard to get over the shit?"

"I told you I didn't care about that.."

"That's cap! I could've fucked her and kept it pushing but I didn't. Then said fuck you and this relationship but I didn't. I've been trying and I'm done trying, so fuck you and this relationship." He stood up and walked to the bathroom, catching her off guard.

She wanted to cry but she didn't. Instead she just kept a straight face.

"Stop screaming. You gon wake Sanai up." Laylani said in monotone, making him roll his eyes.

"Before I leave I just to know.. what did I do for you to act like this? I try so hard to fix this and you act like you don't give a fuck." Taylin stood over her and asked sincerely as she sat on the bed.

"I'm tired of forgiving people. I've been a push over my whole life and forgiving p- people hasn't done anything but make things worse on myself." She looked away and his eyebrows raised in slight confusion.

"What does that even mean?"

"Nothing. Just go." Laylani swallowed hard and turned away from him, making him frown.

"What's wrong?" He sat back down and decided to hash it out, notching she wasn't herself. His Laylani didn't talk like this or act like this.

"Nothing.."

"Did something happened while I was gone?"

"I said
