Chapter 32

Bartley's pov

I used the address of my home that has been confiscated by the government, the doctor assured us that if any problem of the law arise he would call us immediately or the lawyer's numbers I had given him. While I used the address for Adajay also, I know they could still track her down in the system. Hot-Grabba drive us back to Capture Land in Clarendon the following evening and I couldn't feel more proud. Mummy stayed to offered support and my sisters didn't want to leave either, that was fine with me- I got their company and quality time with them.

I felt like a man, happy that I'm now a father.

The day came when my interview was aired on a BBC station, my heart still lurched within me every time it reach the part where I was nearly no more. My mother as always start to cry, Adajay who sat in the comfortable armchair glance over at me. I hadn't wanted her to watch it, but I couldn't send her to our room and she would have probably watched it anyway on the brand new flatscreen hung in our room.

While they ran the replay of the video pinpointing the angles and points that I really wanted to share, Hot-Grabba bawl out, "yes! yes! Mek mi hear wey di dranco dem a guh sey."

There was silence when the interview ends until Adajay spoke. "That was a great interview, however I think you should have expound on the fact that you have been living through your career in fear because of him, I mean him threatening to shoot you on stage is a big thing and could be taken into deep consideration by the law. Hopefully they review and see that you haven't perform any at all for the last year or so before the incident."

Adajay's pov

"Oh, so you are a Alkaline fan? I didn't know you were in tune to the vendetta boss," Bartley said smirking.

"Hey, move dat nuh," I said.

"Move what?" He asked.

"Dat," I said and he kept looking around while his sisters and Taynia laughed at him.

Bartley's pov

Adajay was pampered by me and my family for the two weeks they stayed with us and they were unwilling to leave even then. They could always come back but in the mean time we still need to earn a living, so they had to play their part.

I spend most of my time just staring at my son, Adajay said I was going to overlook him but she didn't know I couldn't help looking at her too. She was rounder and I couldn't help admiring and getting to know her. I did most of the cooking, loving the quality time we were spending together, I love watching her breastfeeding our son and feel jealous of him that he was getting so much love and comfort.

On one of these occasions I drew close and place my hand around her shoulders and pecked her cheek, her smile was so comforting I held her chin and kissed her lips. When I deepen the kiss she break away from me, we looked into each others eyes for a couple seconds before she turn and direct her attention fully on Adalan.

At nights she payed me no mind and when I try to cuddle her she always ease me off, it was with much glee that I took them to six week clinic. After which I took her to the supermarket so she could purchase whatever she wanted for herself and our baby, then we went home.

I could not wait for that night in hopes that Adajay will give me some loving, but it I received the same treatment and have to ask her if she was alright with her private area. She said yes but she was not ready to start back having sex and that we weren't in a relationship, I look at her good and ask.

"Tsk," she hissed.

Her phone binged and I looked at it before taking it up and handing it to her.

My head began to hurt as she read the text on the screen then smile, who di fuck name Dean? And wey him mean by how is my baby? I wonder as I watch as she opens her phone and began typing back a response and in my mind I wondered if she knew I will kill her. In anger I ask.

"Who the fuck is Dean? And wey him mean by him baby?"

She look at me then chuckled and said. "Dean a mi heartbeat."

I could not believe her as she continued to stare back in my eyes, I felt like I was just making progress with her and now she is telling me another man is her heartbeat. My feelings went sky high with hurt while I continue to look disbelieving at her.

"And him baby?" I asked needing to get to the bottom of this.

"He's going to be a good stepfather I'm sure of it. He's on his way here now and I'm so excited," she said.

"What? Suh yuh a mek him come here?" I ask glaring at her.

"Yes, a my house and a my yard," she said seriously looking at me.

"Really? Yuh want mi kill you and him?" I asked in barely control anger.

She sighed, hissed the went into the bathroom, in anger I went and call Righteous.
