They kept backing off until they put some distance between them and the other three.

They found an empty room, and got inside, taking the Cloak off.

Y/N: That was close.
He said.

Harry looked to the ground.
Harry: Sorry, it's my fault.
He said, in shame.

Y/N put a hand on his shoulder.
Y/N: It's ok, Harry. Everybody makes mistakes.
He said, smiling reassuringly.

Harry looked at him.
Harry: I don't know what I'd do, without you.
He said, pulling his twin in a tight hug.

Y/N hugged him back.
Y/N: You'd probably end up doing things you'll regret.
He said, chuckling.

They parted from the hug, and looked around the room.

That's when their eyes fell on a mirror. It was very big, and had a beautiful and elaborated frame made of gold.

They admired it in awe, before deciding to go towards it. Y/N inspected the frame closely.

That's when he spotted what looked like a sentence.

"Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi".

It took Y/N a few instants to understand that it was written backwards.

The real sentence was "I show not your face, but your desire".

Then, they finally looked at their own reflection and gasped in surprise.

Behind them, stood two people. A man and a woman.

The man had blue eyes, a pair of round glasses, and the same messy black hair the twins had.

The woman, on the other side, had long red hair, and a pair of bright green eyes, just like Y/N's.

There was no doubt anymore. Those two were no one else but Lily and James Potter. Their parents.

They both put their hands on their sons' shoulders, smiling sadly at them both.

Y/N's eyes filled with tears at the sight.

Harry and Y/N touched their shoulders, but they could feel nothing. They weren't real.
They were just a projection of what they desired to see.

Harry looked at his brother, now noticing the tears in his eyes.

They forced themselves to look away, and Harry pulled Y/N closer.

The boy dug his face in his twin's chest.
Y/N: I don't want to look anymore. It hurts.

He said.

Harry: They aren't real.
He said.

Y/N looked up, directly into Harry's eyes.
Y/N: Have you read the words on the frame?
He asked.

Harry shook his head.
Y/N: There's a sentence written backwards. It says 'I show not your face, but your desire'. The name of this mirror is Mirror of Erised. Erised is Desire written backwards. There's no other explanation. This mirror shows what a person desires the most.
He said.

Harry looks at him, really impressed.
Harry: Y/N, how...?
He asked.

Y/N chuckled.
Y/N: You see, in certain situations, magic is not always the solution. Sometimes, one must use logic. Hermione keeps saying it every time, and she's right. Wizards lack logic. Well, not every wizard, but a great number of them, that is.
He said.

Harry: Have you read about it somewhere?
He asked, pointing the Mirror.

Y/N: No. I never knew that existed such a thing somewhere, hidden inside this castle.
He said.
He then looked away.

Y/N: Harry, let's go back. I don't want to stay here anymore.
He said.

Harry nodded, and together, after pulling the Cloak on themselves, they left the room.
