*ACHOO!!* *sniff*

This is the worst. I did have a fever, or a cold to be exact. I got soaked in the rain for too long that I got sick.

"Michi, you should stay home and rest." My siblings insisted while I'm already wearing my school uniform.

"It's fine, I already took some medicine. I still have things to do in school.

"Nope, you go change and rest. Let your friends handle what you have to do for today." Shin said and took my bag away.

"He's right, we have plenty of people at the student council. I'll just tell you anything that happens when we come home." Kakucho said as Emma agreed.

"Don't worry sis, I'll make sure everything's fine." Manjiro proudly exclaimed while we all look at him silently.

"WHY ARE YOU GUYS LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT?! So mean." He said and sulked in the corner.

"Well, for now, you should stay home. You'll just have a hard time in school if you continue to go even if you're sick." Shin said.

"Alright fine, I'll stay home but if anything serious comes up, you guys should inform me." I sighed and looked at Kakucho and Emma who both nodded.

"Michi you don't trust me too?" Manjiro asked.

"Stop acting like a baby, besides it's not like you're part of the students' council right? If you really want to help me that badly, make sure the delinquents we talked to last time in your meeting come to school." I said.

"Alright, but how do I do that?" He asked

"By not skipping school and listening properly to the teacher. You're their leader so be a good example." I explained and he dropped down like a wilted plant.

He really hates going to school that much.

"If you buy me coffee jelly, I'll also remove one week from your chores." I whispered and he bounced back to life.

"Don't take that back, okay?!" He exclaimed.

I just really can't get used to his energetic self. Though it would be better to see him all bright and jumpy rather than looking depressed.

Manjiro and the others finally left for school when Ken came. Shinย also left to finish his remaining work at his shop, Gramps is watching over the dojo as usual. Many kids were interested in learning martial arts after Manjiro, Izana and Kakucho won a few competitions.

The house is silent, guess I'll take this time to relax for a bit. Nothing's bad going to happen, I'm sure they can handle my work for today, Haru knows what to do.

Time to slee-

*Ring*

Guess not.

"Hello?" I answered the call without even looking at who it was.

"Huh? Michi?"

"Haru?"

"..."

"..."

"Are you sick?" Both of us asked at the same time.

"Yeah" We both replied.

"I overdid myself yesterday so it took the toll on me." He said and I can hear him sniffle.

It's understandable that he got sick. He fought under the rain and even carried me home.

"Sorry, it was because of me. In the end, we both got sick." I said.

"Well, it's still my fault for leaving you alone like that. If I stayed with you instead then you wouldn't go through that trouble." He said.

"Dwelling on what happened won't matter now. Guess the rest will just have to handle the work for us today." I said, looking up at the ceiling

"You're right, hope they can handle it well. Also, if Tetta is there then I'm sure they can pull through." He replied will a light chuckle.

That's true, Kisaki had always been smart but he greatly improved after I taught him a few things.

"Setting aside the fact that we both are sick, our date yesterday was way fun. If you're okay with it, let's do it again next time." I said while blankly looking out the window and seeing some birds.

"..."

"..."

"D-d-date?!"

"Hmm? Did I say it wrong? Isn't that what they call it though?" I asked, confused with his reaction.

Chika and I would often go on a friendship date like yesterday too when she likes to. It would also be just the two of us hanging out but now that I have at least one friend I should also ask them to come along.

"Har-"

*beep*

He hung up...Did I say it wrong or was he uncomfortable with what I said? I thought everyone go on dates with their friends.

I SCREWED UP! I ACCIDENTALLY ENDED THE CALL!!

Should I call her back? But I don't think I can talk properly after what she said.

SHE SAID THAT YESTERDAY WAS A DATE AND ASKED ME OUT!!

[*a/n: complete misinterpretation*]

I should've said yes immediately, I lost the chance, damnit. I was rude to end the call that way, what if she's upset?

UURRGGHHHH!!!

"Haru-chan, how are you feel- Oh my, why is your face so red? Did your fever go up again?" Grandma asked as she touched my face to check the temperature.

"I'm fine gran, also stop calling me Haru-chan, I'm not a kid anymore." I said.

"Even if you and your siblings grow old like me, the three of you will always be children to me. Even if you marry and have kids, grandkids of your own, that will never change." She said.

Marry? Kids? Grandkids?

"W-what are you saying, gran?! Aside from Take-nii, me and Senju are still young!" I exclaimed out of embarrassment.

"Hmm? I was around your age when I met your grandfather though?" She said and smiled.

Thinking about it, she rarely tells stories of grandpa.

"You also look so similar to him when I first saw him." She said.

"Huh?" I asked as she suddenly stood up and told me to wait. When she came back she had a photo album in her hands.

"This is our class photo when we graduated, your grandfather is up here." She said and pointed at a person.

When she meant I look similar, it's as if I'm seeing a photo of myself. Aside from the hairstyle, we look so alike.

"Where are you here, gran?" I asked as I was looking around the photo.

"Here." She said and pointed at the person just beside grandpa.

"Eh?" I asked dumbfoundedly and compared her to the picture she pointed to.ย

"I cut my hair too short that many thought I was a boy, it was actually the reason why I and your grandfather got close. He was just a transfer student and I was his seatmate." She said with a reminiscing smile.

"Gran, you look like a delinquent." I said seeing that she looked so intimidating and serious in the picture.

"I was."

"Huh?" I said and she just smiled.

"One reason I cut my hair was to be a delinquent since girls were seen as weak in our time. But even so, I still can't beat one person no matter what. In the end, I just became the second command in our gang but it wasn't that bad." She said.

I can't believe that our grandma was that awesome.

"Who?" I asked.

"Hmm? You follow his granddaughter all the time but you still don't know? He's the one beside me in the picture. Here." She said with a light chuckle.

"HUUUUHHH??!!!"
