𝗞𝗼𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗶'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩 | 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬

Walking home from school along with my friend, Seishu, our name was called by a feminine voice that made us turn around and look to see that it was Seishu's older sister, Akane-san.

She's five years older than Seishu but I've always loved her.

"Going home? Want to stop by the library?" She asked and I offered to hold her bag but she just said that it wasn't necessary.

"You're always kind, Hajime-kun. You should be more like him Seishu!" She said.

"No way." He said while she chuckled.

"Careful, when you get a girlfriend and you're too nice to others she'll get jealous. Plus you're good-looking, Hajime-kun." She said and a light blush was painted on my cheeks. 

"Also, Seishu, if you can't at least be kinder, you won't get girls." She teased while Seishu just huffed.

"She's right, you won't be even noticed by her." I also teased.

"Oh? Who is this girl we're talking about?" Akane-san asked and when I was about to say her name, Seishu covered my mouth.

"You didn't tell me that you are interested in someone Sei. Are you keeping secrets from your big sis now?" She teased again.

"Whatever, I'll be going home." Seishu said and let go of my mouth before he walked away only to almost bump into someone.

"Seishu-kun?" A girl with black shoulder-length hair and piercing ebony eyes who he almost bumped into asked.

Seishu stiffened and wasn't able to speak for a moment until I tapped his shoulder.

Jees, he acts so proudly and cools but when he talks to her he's like a deer seeing headlights.

"Nice seeing you here, Michiyo-chan." I greeted with a wave and a smile.

Sano Michiyo, we only met her last year during a school event, it happened that we were grouped with her along with Akashi Haruchiyo. It was awkward of course since our group was ostracized.

It was supposed to be a group of ten but we are only four so that time Seishu tried complaining without knowing how capable they really are until we won the event without even doing anything.

Every time they meet, Seishu would always try to pick a fight but she won't even bother and still win without trying. I don't know how but as time passed by, he somehow developed a crush.

Though I would only just wish him luck every time since he has a competition...

"Michi? I thought you already went in?" Haruchiyo asked as he caught up with Michiyo along with two kids, Kiasaki Tetta and Kakucho.

"I just happen to meet them." Michiyo replied to Haruchiyo who was having a staring competition with Seishu.

In the end, Seishu came along and joined their group so I was alone with Akane-san. They introduced themselves a while ago and she easily got along with them.

I was just reading a book when I noticed that Akane-san fell asleep.

She invited me and yet she's the one sleeping.

"Her face resembles Inupi...but she's so pretty." I muttered while I stared at her. My eyes looked at her soft lips and slowly I went closer to kiss her.

"No can do" She said as I quickly backed away, my cheeks were red and my heart was beating quickly.

"You should only kiss the person you like" She said.

"Yeah, sorry. But...I like you Akane-san" I said.

"Even though I'm five years older than you?" She asked

"That's not a problem. Once we're adults that don't matter." I said.

Jeez, what am I saying?

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗢𝗩

I was just going to get more books but I didn't expect to see that scene in front of my eyes. So it's finally today, the fire accident at the Inui residence.

To be honest, I almost gave up on changing the storyline after what happened to Haru but since I have knowledge of what was about to happen, guilt followed.

I thought about it and there wasn't any mention of why there was a fire.

There was a short time I knew Koko and the Inui and I can't really say that we're the best of friends yet and now all I'm doing is buying some time.

If it comes to it, I'd just call an ambulance and firefighters before it can even happen. That will be risky since I could get arrested for a false report when nothing happens but I have no choice.

My conscience or risk going to jail, I have to pick one.

We waited till the library reached its closing time but it wasn't still enough. With the money I get from Keiji, I offered to take them to a nearby cafe.

Oh, about Keiji, he became my personal black card in secret. Last year, when he finally finished his research, he won another award and commendation that he even wrote my name as a contributor, I asked him to use my name in my past life, Y/n. 

"Oh my look at the time, we need to go home now. Thank you for the treat, Michiyo-chan. I promise to treat you next time we meet again." Akane said with a soft and kind smile.

This is as far as I can stall.

The Inui's and Koko bid goodbye and went on their way.

"We should go home too. See you guys later!" Kisaki said and waved before going home as well.

Haru, Kaku, and I began walking back as well but in the middle of the way, I stopped.

"What's wrong, Michi?" Haru asked.

"I forgot to tell Akane-san something, I'll be back, you two can go ahead." I said

"Huh? But it's already dark, we'll come with you." Kaku said but I shook my head and explained that I'll be right back.

After a few minutes of convincing, they finally gave up and went ahead. The hardest one to convince was Haru who insisted to come.

Without wasting any moment, I ran in the direction that Koko and the others went and then I saw Koko and Akane outside their house while I hid behind the wall and listened.

"Akane-san! I've always liked you! When we grow up, please marry me!" Koko said.

What a straightforward kid.

"Haha, I'll think about that." Akane replied.

"I'll protect you forever!" Koko declared and promised.

How sweet.

"Then, until we grow older, I'll wait for you." She said.

"Eh?!" Koko exclaimed as he blushed.

Why are you surprised?

When Koko walked away, and Akane went inside, I took out my phone and dialed the emergency number, and reported a fire.

I would like to see the so-called money monger have his own happy ending.

I waited a few moments and I heard a sudden explosion and fire immediately spread like wildfire, engulfing the house.

I was tapping my finger and paced back in forth, thinking if I should just stay still since the emergency will be on the way but once again, my conscience was eating me from inside so I ran towards the house and met up with Koko who was frantically asking if Akane escaped.

"Michiyo? What are you doing here?" He asked when he saw me.

"We don't have time, I'll get Seishu out, you get Akane-san." I said and he nodded. I took one glance and glared at the bystanders who did nothing but chatter.

This is why parents are rarely mentioned in the series, all they do is stand and watch.

Koko kicked down the door and with my jacket, I covered myself and immediately ran upstairs to look for Seishu. I found him in a room, barely conscious and coughing.

I quickly hoisted him on my back and run back down until I got outside. Thankfully, Koko got out with Akane but her burns are still horrible. 

"Michiyo?" Seishu asked weakly as he coughed.

"Are you okay?" I asked and he nodded. A moment later the ambulance and firefighters finally came and treated the sibling.
