Three months later and things took the worst turn, our parents began to argue more and more because mom found that dad was cheating and got someone pregnant. I'm guessing it's Emma and her mom.

Shin was scared and I can see that he was trying to be strong for us. Here comes trauma, I guess. Manjiro can't even stop crying even when we are cuddled up together, there's not much I can do with this baby body of mine.

A loud shout and strong slam on the door startled us and the two began to cry, even more, our parents left the house, leaving us alone.

"I-It's okay, Michiyo, Manjiro. Nii-san is here, 'kay?" He said as he hugged us both closer under the blanket.

With my tiny hands, I reached for both of my brother's foreheads to give them head pats like how granpa did when I was still Y/n. Slowly they stopped crying and a light smile was painted on my face.ย

The next thing we knew, the three of us fell asleep. The three of us snuggled together, not knowing the news that was about to come.

1 week later

"We're so sorry for your loss" People said as they gave their respects to our parents' ashes.ย

The night that they stormed out, they got into an accident. We only knew about it when the police came to our home.

Now we are here, along with our grandfather on our father's side, dressed in black as we mourn their death. The most affected one is Shin, of course, Manjiro is still a baby that doesn't understand things while I, on the other hand, knew something like this was coming.ย

Things went by quickly, and the funeral ended. Grandfather took the three of us in and just like in the manga, he was running a dojo.

"Your mother and father are gone now, from now on, I'll be the one to take care of you three so don't worry about anything and try to move on." Grandpa said and showed us to a room where the three of us would stay in.

Shin put down our bags and sat in front of us with a tired smile.

"Michiyo, Manjiro. From now on, this is our home and grandpa will be our parent instead of mom and dad who left us. But don't worry and just grow well, nii-san will never leave you two." He said as he placed a kiss on top of our foreheads before an embrace.

He's so mature for his age. It's so sad to see kids to be forced to be mature because of unfortunate circumstances.ย

"Michi! Let's play!" My twin said as he was shaking my shoulder.

"Let me sleep, Jiro." I groaned and cover myself with the blanket. He pulled it off and jumped on top of me.

Does he think I'm a trampoline?

"Come on, Michi. You're always reading this and writing that. Do you not love your twin anymore?" He asked with a fake cry and whined.

"I'm too old for this." I muttered with a tired sigh.

"What do you mean? We're the same age!" He said as he clung like a koala on a tree.

"I'm older than you." I said.

"Only by a few minutes!" He exclaimed.

"That still counts" I said and he pouted.

"Please, let's just play this once. Nii-chan is in school and grandpa is busy." He begged and pulled my arm and dragged me out of the room, making me sigh.

Yare yare, how bothersome.

"What are we even playing?" I asked and gave in to his request.

"Let's have a duel!" He said.

"That's not playing, that's fighting." I said, making him flinch before laughing awkwardly.

When grandpa taught us martial arts, this brother of mine became obsessed with fighting. He is undoubtedly a prodigy compared to me.

I only forced myself to learn it since I need self-defense at some point. But if Shin would skip training, he'll take me sometimes too.

"But you already know that I'm not that strong as you. Why don't you challenge grandpa's students." I asked.

"But I want to fight you so you can be stronger too! Don't you want that? The two of being the strongest!" He exclaimed with a proud look on his face.

"No thanks" I said

"Eh?"

"Fighting is pointless." I muttered.

"Yeah? Well, reading books is lame!" He exclaimed and pouted with his arms crossed.

He's pouting again like a brat. Though he is a brat.

"Alright, we'll fight. Just one round and that's it." I said and his eyes lit up with joy and he had a wide smile.

"But, in one condition" I said, with my index finger pointed up.

He asked what was my condition was and told him that it was for him to memorize the multiplication table of 3. His smile faded quickly and he was struggling to make a decision. This is for his own good, I'm teaching him early so he can be lazy all he wants in the future.

"If you win, I will do want you said!" He said with a smug look while I looked at him with a deadpanned look.

He just turned my condition around, I couldn't tell if he was just clever or desperate. The possibility of me winning against him in a one-on-one battle is below 60 percent and it's a high risk.

"Forget it" I said and began to walk away but he clung to my waist with teary eyes. He gave up and just agreed to my condition.

With that, we were outside, in a fighting stance, ready to fight each other. He had a wide smile as he ran towards me. Even if he's stronger than me, I'm not by means weaker than anyone else.

Just as he was about to grab my arm, I dodged which made him stumble a bit but quickly recovered and did and roundhouse kick. I knew that it was his power move and I won't be able to block it so I just dodged it again but simply sat down, making him miss my head.

"Are you trying to kill me?" I asked, catching him off-guard before I grabbed his arm and did and threw him to the ground.ย

"Alright, I'm sorry. Let go." He said and tapped me on the ground. I sighed and helped him up, dusting off our clothes.

"I got excited that I used that move, sorry." He said and jumped to hug me again.ย

"Alright, I accept your sorry. Now let's go inside and memorize the multiple of three." I said and pulled him inside while he whined and tried to escape.

As I was dragging my twin to the living room, I saw Shin and his friend, Takeomi doing their schoolwork together.

"Oh- Michiyo, Manjiro. Why are you guys covered in dirt?" Shin asked as we approached them.

"Jiro wanted to fight." I replied as I gave Manjiro a copy of the multiplication table I made.

Shin laughed when he learned that I forced my twin to learn in exchange for the fight he requested.

As I was strictly looking at Manjiro who was already in tears while memorizing the table, our older brother called with pleading eyes as he holds his notebook.

"Michiyo~ can you please help nii-chan?" He begged while I just looked uninterested.

"You think a six-year-old can understand our lessons?" Takeomi whispered.

"Michiyo can, do you remember the homework I had a perfect score in? She helped me with it." Shin whispered back while I took a look at his homework.

It's just basic science so I answered it in just a few minutes before giving it back and checking Manjiro's progress. He was still at 3 x 4.

"Michiyo~" Shin cooed, not noticing that his homework is already answered.

"Oi, Shin, it's alreadyย  answered." Takeomi said and took Shin's notebook. His eyes widened when he saw that some answers matches his.ย

Shin thanked me and pulled out two pieces of taiyaki and gave us each. Manjiro was happy and even got motivated to learn while I just stared at the food.ย

"Nii-san, I don't like sweets, remember?" I said.

I don't really know why but maybe it's because the grandpa that took me in my past life died because of diabetes.

"Don't worry, I requested that yours is unsweetened." He said with a smile before patting my head.

I picked up the snack and took a bite and it was perfect. It wasn't sweet but it wasn't also tasteless. This may be my new favorite snack so far.
