Is there really a starting point to where you started liking him?

It was like those times when people realized they have been friends with the person who's always sitting beside them. And just like that before you knew it, you uttered those words, that you like him. It's not that you said that on a whim, because you were scared and the only comfort you found was him.

No, the feeling was always there, the feeling of admiration, turning into infatuation and gradually forming into what is now you realized as the sole reason you uttered those words.

Because he was always there.

You felt a sort of warmth as you snuggled closer to the blanket, sighing when the familiar scent engulfed you and you fall deeper into slumber.

Kenma watched you sleeping soundly, your little sigh and breathes drowned the silence of the room as you nestled comfortably on the bed. While he sat on the edge with his phone, he browse through his saved files and found that video, the one he took that night when you were drunk and invited him at your apartment, he saved a copy in a drive before you can delete it from his phone and trash before.

"I don't need this anymore," he said, deleting it for good before he looked behind to see you slowly stirring awake. "I have the real deal now."

You felt the bed dipped on the side and you slowly moved to lie on your back as you blinked your eyes open. Your vision still blurry from sleep, you blinked away the remnants of slumber as your gaze travelled from the ceiling to the guy beside you.

"Kenma?"

Kenma didn't say anything as he moved closer and closer and closer until he was suddenly snuggling on your side, his nose burying on the spot between your neck and shoulder. His hot breath tickled your neck, his head rubbing under your chin, Kenma can smell his scent on you, maybe because you've been nestling his duvet.

"What's with you all of a sudden?" you asked, holding his shoulders as you pushed him gently and he leaned back after a moment.

He was snuggling you earlier that his hair became messy and you couldn't help but chuckle at the thought that before, you wondered what Kenma would have look like right after waking up, with his messy hair and droopy eyes. Now you're seeing it, and compared to the one you imagined before, this one is much cuter, so much that it's almost lethal.

"Tell me you didn't forget everything that happened between us last night."

And that pout of his that was almost unnoticeable when he said that, you had to avert your eyes or you might seriously die of cuteness at how Kenma looks right now.

"Y/n," he called you to get your attention. "You didn't forget what you told me right?"

"Oh..." you avoided his gaze as Kenma pushed himself up and propped his arm on the bed to support his upper body as he looked down on you. "What did...I tell you?"

You looked around until your gaze fell on Kenma before he dove right to your body and right to where your tickle spot as you burst out in laughter.

"Alright, alright...I didn't forget!"

Kenma stopped peppering you with little kisses before leaning close to your ear.

"What did you say?" he asked but it sounded more like he's demanding it. "Say it again," he whispered.

"I like you."

Kenma hummed in return before he leaned on you, snuggling closer again. You lifted your hand but stopped before you can touch the back of his head. You were about to retrieve your hand but Kenma looked up and he noticed your hand hovering above so he held your wrist and put your hand atop his head.

He closed his eyes when your hand started moving, untangling the tangles of his rather long hair and Kenma instinctively leaned closer to your hand before he fell on you again, snuggling closer.

"You said you like me, so many times last night," he muttered. "I'm not letting you go now."

Kenma looked up. "Never,"

You chuckled at how Kenma was speaking like a little kid who got his favorite videogame on Christmas. Does he realize how cute he is just now?

"I'm not going anywhere, Kenma."

Then you stopped, your laughter faded as your smile vanished and you looked down. That reminded you of something really important. With what happened for the last few days that almost slipped from your mind.

"Not that I have anywhere else to go now..." you trailed off and Kenma leaned back and you sat up, pulling the sheet up as you hugged your knees.

"The building where I'm renting an apartment unit was being sold and the tenants are asked to move out but I still haven't found a place to move in to."

Now that you think about it, you seriously might use your parents' insurance money to find a cheap apartment unit near the University.

"Move in with me."

You suddenly looked up at Kenma who is now standing as he collected his clothes on the floor and put them on the side.

"We'll talk more about it during breakfast, let's take a bath first."

"Sureβ€”eh?" you suddenly realized what Kenma said and you blinked your eyes a few times. "What did you just say about taking a baβ€”"

You were abruptly cut off when Kenma swiftly pulled you up from the bed, the sheet unwrapping down your body. "I know you heard it the first time, kiska."

---

Since you don't have any clothes here, you were wearing that ridiculous outfit last night when you came to his house, Kenma let you borrow his clothes. So you sat on the stool by the kitchen island with an oversized shirt and boxer briefs while Kenma make breakfast.

You said you can make breakfast but he insisted, so you just sat there for a few minutes until the smell of maple syrup and pancake wafted in your nostrils. Kenma put two plates down before he settled on the stool across you.

"About what you said earlier..."

"Eat your breakfast first, you must be hungry."

When you took a bite of the pancake, you just realize that you're indeed hungry since you haven't had dinner last night. You finished your spread faster than Kenma did, in fact Kenma wasn't even halfway done, he barely even touched his food as he stare at you while you were eating.

When he saw your empty plate, Kenma took one pancake from his and put it on yours.

"No, I'm fine Kenma."

"Just eat it," he said. Come to think of it, even before when you two are in high school, Kenma don't really eat that much that most of the students were actually surprise to see him playing in the volleyball club, it's not that he was scrawny, but he wasn't that athletic either.

They just didn't see him without his clothes on, he may look lean yet he's really...well he's really muscular. At the sudden thought of it, your face suddenly heat up, you looked down and decided to eat the pancake just as Kenma finished his. And after a few seconds of stillness, he decided to speak.

"I'm moving out soon."

"Where?"

"Around Roppongi. The apartment unit I got is too spacious for one person. Kuro already has his own unit in Shinjuku."

You were silent for a while and so does Kenma. Of course he expects that you wouldn't just say yes right away.

"But wouldn't it be more convenient to you if you move in with me?" he asked.

"But you said it's too spacious for one person, so it must also cost a lot. I don't think I canβ€”"

"Don't worry about the money Y/n," Kenma said, cutting you off, his eyes travelling up to you. "I have a lot to spare."

Of course he does.

"Besides, two persons who like each other would want to see each other more often. So wouldn't it be more convenient if they just live together? So they would see each every single day."

Suddenly you felt a hand on touch your cheek lightly and you realized Kenma has been leaning in, his face now closer and you were momentarily bewitched by those golden hues that seem to reflect the light.

"You like me, right, Y/n?"

You slowly nodded. His palm was warm but your face started heating up now.

"Then let's live together," Kenma continued his voice sounded low.

"Just the two of us." His hand brushed your hair behind your ear before he held your face with his other hand, caressing your cheek.

"Stay with me from now on. You don't have to worry about anything else, you just need to stay by my side foreβ€”"

Kenma was cut off when you suddenly leaned back, he looked a little taken aback by your action, perhaps he said a little too much a little too soon.

But when Kenma saw your cheeks tinted in red, your gaze averting on the side as you rubbed the back of your neck and released a shaky breath, Kenma realized you must have just been flustered. He leaned back and stood up as you looked back at him.

"Think about my offer. I'll wait for your answer in a week before you move out."

"Kenma," you called and Kenma stopped before he can walk further. "How did you know I was supposed to move out in a week?"

Did that slip his mouth as well?

Kenma bit his tongue to prevent himself from cussing out loud, he closed his eyes for a second and opened them before he turned around to face you.

"I meant myself. I'll move out in a week."

"Oh..." you nodded your head. "Right, I didn't mention anything about moving out in a week so I was little surprised. By the way, are you going somewhere?"

"Yes. It won't take long so just wait for me here."

You nodded your head and followed him to the front door. You don't feel like going back to your apartment at the moment anyways.

"Be careful," you said and when you looked up you thought you saw a hint of smile on Kenma's lips before he turned around and walked outside.

When he got in his car, just before he started his ignition, Kenma looked ahead to the front door of his house.

"Right, just stay there and wait for me like a good kitten that you are," he said before he drove off.

---

Kenma met with Kuroo in Shinjuku and as the two sat inside the restaurant, Kuroo decided to break the silence.

"Wasn't it yesterday when you invited me for a coffee? Did something good happen again, Kyanma?"

"Y/n said she likes me."

To say Kuroo was surprise was understatement, if he was eating or drinking anything Kenma was sure he would have choke to death judging by how surprise he is now.

"Really?! She said that? Who would have thought she'll admit that. I though she likes Yamamoβ€”" Kuroo was cut off when he saw Kenma's glare and he cleared his throat. "I was just joking."

Kenma sighed and averted his gaze. "But that wasn't what I need to tell you."

Kuroo felt the atmosphere around Kenma shifted, he was sure whatever it is he was going to tell him wouldn't be that good.

"Last night, Y/n came to my house. Apparently she was almost sexually assaulted by the owner of the cafΓ© she was working at."

Kuroo's expression turned serious. "That man..."

"So you knew him."

Kenma knew that already. It's not like Kuroo would invite Kenma to the coffee shop even before Y/n started working there if he doesn't know the owner.

"Not really that much, we talked a few times before. He's interested in V. League teams."

Kenma scoff sarcastically but it was almost unnoticeable. "As if he'll be able to watch the pre-season."

"Kenma, what are you planning to do?"

"Even if Y/n were to report him to the police, that man at least has enough money to slip right through any charges," Kenma said, his gaze lingering on the steak knife on the table. "But of course I have more money. And money can do anything."

Kenma took the steak knife just in time when the waiter came and put the plate of steak in front of him.

"Enjoy your meal," the waiter said before he left.

"Kenma, don't be too reckless."

"Since when have I become reckless?"

Of course he's never been. Kuroo knew that more than anyone else, he's looking at the brain of Nekoma volleyball team, a person whose every move has always been calculated ahead of time. It's not that he can't afford to make mistakes, he just doesn't want to make mistakes.

"Right," Kuroo said as he started to eat as well.

After that conversation, they ate their food in silence. And soon afterwards they were outside the restaurant ready to part ways when Kenma stopped and called Kuroo.

"I'm going to tend on some business tomorrow, can you pick Y/n from the University? Her last lecture will end at five thirty. Be there at five."

"Alright, alright," Kuroo said. "I'm free tomorrow anyways. But Kenma, where are you going tomorrow?"

Kenma didn't answer and Kuroo watched as he got inside his car and drove off, leaving Kuroo there.Β
