Today was officially the first day of summer which meant everyone and their mama was outside since Parkside was hosting their annual block party. This was something everyone looked forward to because they had games, food, music, prizes, and many more. The block party had been the topic of all conversations for about 2 weeks now and I couldn't wait to get outside cause I knew it was lit out there.

"Noelle I'm about to head out and go help Ms.Cheryl set up her bakery stand so let me know when you heading out." Noelle's mom Tamara yelled aloud while gathering up her items.

"Okay mom love you see you later." She yelled back as she laid in bed catching up on her new favorite show Euphoria.

"I love you too baby" She heard from a distance as the front door closed letting her know her mom had left out.

Ms.Cheryl was 53 year old older lady who was known for baking all kinds of different homemade sweets. She ran her business out of her house and always sold out when she restocked every week. She was like my second grandmother because she was kind hearted and always made sure me and my cousins had whatever we needed.

I continued to binge watch my show when I noticed my phone and 2 new notifications from my group chat.

Nuni was my best friend since preschool since our moms was close to each other so we grew up with one another. She was the only person I knew I could put all my trust into because she was solid and never gave me a reason to think otherwise.

I knew once Celine got here she was gone start rushing me so I got up and went to handle my daily hygiene which consisted of a hot steamy shower, facial routine, and brushing my teeth. Once I finished up in the bathroom I walked out and Celine was at my vanity doing her baby hairs since she had recently gotten some knotless braids.

"Girl that skims set is cute I need to order me a couple of sets." I said while sitting on my bed applying lotion to my skin.

"Thanks boo you better get you some now while they on sale cause they kinda pricey." Celine replied while styling her braids.

Celine had on a baby pink skims short and bralette set that went nice with her cinnamon colored skin tone. She stood at 5'6 and was more on the slim side whereas I was on the thicker side. She had big chocolate brown baby doll eyes with heart shaped lips that had a mole on her bottom lip. Celine had shoulder length 4c hair in which she always kept it in some type of protective hairstyle to promote hair growth.

"Ugh my mom still has my card locked so I can't even order anything right now if I wanted to." I said while looking through my drawers for a outfit.

"Damn auntie was really serious about you needing to learn how to budget." Celine giggled while shaking her head.

"Yeah I know." I laughed as well while settling on a simple but cute outfit.

I was more so on the basic side when it came to getting dressed so I decided on some medium washed distressed booty shorts, white cropped baby tee, and my white and black low dunks. Once I finished getting dressed I put my diamond belly ring and earrings on then headed to my vanity to straighten a few piece of my middle part frontal install.

"Bitch I totally forgot to ask you but did you hear about Benny getting out of jail last week ?" Celine said with wide eyes while looking over at me.

"Damn I thought he was still locked up I'm surprised nobody been talking about it." I mumbled while finishing up my last piece.

"You know Nuni brother is cool with them and supposedly he went over there and Benny was there but they kept it low key." Celine explained while shaking her head.

Benny was in the Stk gang and even though they technically didn't have a leader yet he was the one who was calling shots and overlooking everything and he was only 19 years old. I only seen him about 2 times over here at Parkside since he moved in silence and rarely was seen unless he wanted to be. He was ruthless asf I know for a fact he was the one causing all the chaos without saying a word. He was locked up for murder but the police didn't have enough evidence so he was found guilty so im guessing he got out shortly after that.

"Damn I wonder if he gone be at the block party today." I said as I combed out my eyelashes and applied some lipgloss on my plump lips.

"Who knows ."

Me and Celine were both dressed and ready to go so we locked up the house and walked to the block party that was 3 blocks away. The streets was packed I was definitely sure everyone that lived in Parkside was outside. Nuni had texted me 30 minutes ago saying she was at the basketball courts with her brother so we headed that way.

"Ouh bitch these niggas is fine ass hell I need to get me one." Celine said as we both laughed.

"Mind you they all run with Stk like how the hell do y'all have a gang where majority of them is fine as hell." I said as I spotted Nuni sitting at a table by herself.

Nuni was 5'4 and had almond colored skin with round green eyes. Nuni had a fat ass and small boobs with a little bit of baby fat on her stomach. She had shoulder length deep curls that she had dyed dark red from boredom. She also had two deep dimples on both of her cheeks.

"Nuniiiiii I missed you bitch where tf you been." I said as I hugged her and sat next to her.

"You literally just saw me four days ago it hasn't been that long." Nuni laughed while rolling up a blunt for us to smoke.

We sat down giving each other all the tea we had been missing out on when a all black matte Lamborghini urus pulled up in the parking lot. Since our table was right next to the parking lot we had a clear view of who was getting out the car and surprisingly it was Benny and his homeboy Ace.

"Y'all quit staring at them before they notice us." Celine whispered to me and Nuni who was watching them hard asf.

"Both of them niggas is fine asf especially Ace tall ass." Nuni said while still eyeing them as they leaned against the car talking to a a couple other of they homeboys.

I couldn't help but to study Benny a little bit more since I had a clear view of how he looked and Nuni wasn't lying that boy was sexy as fuck. He looked about 6'3 and he had smooth syrup colored skin with brown roundish almond eyes. His hair was long and wavy which was done in two neat French braids with a fresh line up. Benny was tatted up everywhere from his arms, stomach, neck, back, and a couple on his legs but they all looked fresh and neat. He sported an all black Nike sweatsuit with white Air Force ones it was your typical hood nigga outfit. His neck, ears, and wrist was iced out with diamonds I knew he was paid.

Ace was equally as fine as Benny he looked the same height as him and had clear dark skin that was tatted up too. He had neat shoulder length dreads with a hat on top of his head. Ace was also iced out in diamonds but he had a diamond grill which was something Benny didn't have.

"Come on y'all I'm high asf and I need something to eat." Celine said as we all agreed and headed to the food area.

"Let's walk by them so they can notice us." Nuni said while fixing her appearance.

"Girl you know your brother don't play that shit you better come on before that line start getting long." I laughed while making my way towards the food line.

Nuni brother was strict and over protective because he didn't want her getting played especially not by the people he ran with bc them Stk niggas was dogs. Nuni was hardheaded and didn't take any advice from anyone she was the type to learn stuff the hard way when it could all be avoided but oh well that's her life who am I to judge.

We finally got to the front of the line and my mouth began watering as I scanned over all the different selections they had. I eventually settled on a seafood bag which consisted of crab legs, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and mussels. Parkside had gotten a big donation for the block party from a anonymous person so this year they were able to go all out on food and activities. Once we all got our food and drinks we headed back to our table and began eating.

"Mmm FUCK." me and Celine quickly looked up with wide eyes looking over at Nuni who sat there with a smirk taking a bite out of her food.

"Oops sorry this food is good as hell whoever made this deserves some immaculate head." We all laughed aloud because Nuni was dramatic as hell.

We made small talk while eating until we heard someone yell Nuni government name which was Nulani so it had to be no one else but her brother who was chilling with Benny and Ace. Nuni begged us to walk with her since she didn't want to go by herself so we got up and followed behind her. It was only four of them in total standing there and some small figure that had her arms wrapped around Bennys waist and her head tucked into his shirt so no one was able to tell who it was.

"Is there a reason you yelled my damn government name out in front of all these people." Nuni rolled her eyes and folded her arms together.

"We about to hot box both of these cars so if y'all want to smoke get in the car." Nuni brother Khalil said as he rolled up a blunt.

Ace, the other unknown guy, Celine, Nuni, and Khalil all gathered into the car that was parked next to the one Benny was leaning up against with the girl since I didn't want to smoke. I decided to sit on the hood of whoever car they were all in while they smoked it wasn't the most comfortable but I didn't feel like sitting by myself at the table for a long time.

"Go home I'll hit you later" Benny said in a low voice to the girl who was leaning on him.

"Why can't I stay with you I don't want to go home." The girl said in a whiny voice.

"Don't make me repeat myself" I heard Bennys voice get a little more loud and clear.

I took a quick glance up at the girl and she was walking away wiping her eyes it seemed as if she was crying because he made her leave. My eyes then slowly traveled back to Benny who was staring at me with a slight smirk.

"You gone sit with me in the car until they finish or stay out here in this hot ass weather ?" I heard Benny ask me as he got into his car.

Even though I didn't know him I knew Khalil wouldn't bring us around nobody who wasn't trusted plus they were in the car right next to us so I simply nodded my head and walked over to the passenger seat.

As soon as I opened the car door I was hit with cool air and the smell of Black ice air freshener. NBA YoungBoy played lowly as he reclined his seat and began breaking down some weed so he could hot box his car as well.

"What's your name ma ?" Benny asked me as he took his gun out his sweats and sat it on the arm rest.

"Noelle" I replied lowly while glancing at him.

"Oh fr that's my mom middle name." He said while smiling.

"Really ?" I said excitedly with a big smile on my face like a straight goofy.

Benny shook his head and nodded "Nah I'm just playing."

We both laughed and he then sparked up his blunt and took a long puff while looking at me with his low red eyes. He offered me the blunt but I declined it and I got comfortable in my seat too as we both made small conversation and listened to the music as the drugs took over us both due to me getting contact high.
