You had been to family dates with Suki and Kenma before, albeit only twice. So perhaps it wasn't exactly surprising that you feel a bit excited that this time, it will not just be the three of you.

"This is Suki's last day of school," you muttered with a sigh, as you look out the window of the car while Kenma drives to school to pick up the little girl. "I can't believe how quickly time passes. She'll be in grade school soon, and then high school and then college and she'll start living on her own."

While you were staring at the passing trees and buildings, you couldn't help but think of it as how children grow up so fast. So quickly, like the blurring images from a speeding car. You take your eyes off them for a moment and the next thing you know they're already standing on their feet, walking and then running, farther and farther until you can no longer see them ahead.

It was the sad reality of being a parent that you haven't exactly thought about before, not until Suki came into your life. No, not until you came into Suki and Kenma's lives.

You let out another sigh, as the car slowed down and you saw the school up ahead. There are already lots of cars and parents.

"We're not late, right?" you asked, briefly looking at your wristwatch as the car stopped.

"No," Kenma said and when you lifted your head you saw him leaning closer and you were a bit surprised when you felt him loosened your seatbelt. "We're just right on time."

"That's unnecessary," you muttered, feeling a bit flustered when he got close and took off your seatbelt, not to mention the smile he has on his face that's more of a smirk than an actual smile.

You shook your head and followed Kenma out of the car. You stopped for a moment, looking at your dress as Kenma walked towards you.

"Let's go," you said.

There are already a lot of families taking pictures as you look around. You can tell by the looks of it that this school isn't an average one since most of the families look, well, they look well-off. Or this is just your first time attending a kindergarten graduation.

"Where are they?" you muttered, looking around. Earlier, Suki already left with her grandmother, so they should be waiting here.

You were the first one to see the little girl wearing her school uniform and a corsage. Her grandmother also did her hair, braiding it and clipping it with a ribbon the same color as the corsage. Suki still hasn't noticed you yet as she arranged her corsage.

"She's all grown up, my Suki."

"Your Suki?" Kenma asked, and you looked at him.

"What? Am I not allowed to call her that?" you asked in a mutter and lips in a purse before you smiled until Kenma leaned close.

"No, in fact I like how it sounds coming from you. You should say it more often, my Y/n," he said before walking ahead towards Suki and her grandmother while you were left there, still standing and comprehending what Kenma just said.

"Did... seriously, he's teasing me even here," you muttered before walking after him.

"Daddy! Mommy!" Suki said once she spotted you two and quickly ran up to you and Kenma. She gave each of you a kiss on the cheek before she took both your hands and started to walk.

Soon after, the graduation ceremony started. It didn't take long until it was over and once the ceremony ended, you headed outside. Kenma took the flowers from the car and handed them to Suki.

"Alright, let's take a picture," you said, taking out your phone.

You took Suki's photo with her grandmother first, then with Kenma. And then afterwards, Keina took the phone and took a photo of your three. With each click it captures the moment that will be treasured for decades to come.

While you were checking the pictures with Keina, Kenma kneeled down in front of Suki, looking at her before he started.

"You've grown up," he said. "You know, when you came to me you were barely one year old. Before I knew it you were suddenly running around, talking back to me, countering me with snide remarks."

"Daddy, what are you saying?"

"I'm saying, don't grow up too fast." Kenma stood up, patting Suki's head. "Right, just stay little, like this."

"Daddy's just scared I'd grow taller than daddy," Suki said with a huff before she giggled and lifted her arms as an indication that she wanted to be picked up, to which Kenma did as he picked her up. "If I grow up, daddy wouldn't be able to pick me up like this."

"And why is that?"

"Because I'd be heavy and daddy doesn't like getting tired."

"You know what, you are already heavy enough as it is now," Kenma said, making Suki whine in protest.

When he walked up to you, he put Suki down. You saw the slightest hint of a fading smile on Kenma's lips before it completely vanished.

"So, where are we going?" you asked, looking at Suki with a knowing look and after a few seconds the little girl's face lit up.

"We're going on a family date!" she said.

Just as she said that, the Aiharas came. You noticed the small bouquet of flowers that Hiro took from his mother and then handed it to Suki who looked at it for a second.

"It's yours," Hiro said.

"It's pretty," Suki looked at it before looking at the flower Kenma gave. "But daddy's flowers are prettier."

Afterwards, you headed to a traditional Japanese restaurant that Aihara Mori made prior reservations to for lunch. Once you arrived, the host ushered everyone to a room where the food will be served.

"A friend of mine owns this restaurant, so I thought it would be nice to have lunch here," Mori said. Kenma looked around the interior, he doesn't really eat outside, traditional restaurants like this are not really his thing. "And since we'll be leaving soon, this will serve as a parting gift."

The food tasted nothing short of exquisite, though the kids didn't enjoy it much since traditional Japanese cuisines are still new to their palate. Nonetheless, it was an eventful lunch for such an eventful family date.

That evening, since the Aiharas paid for lunch, the dinner was on you and Kenma. Instead of going to another restaurant, a more expensive and more exquisite one than Aihara Mori made prior reservation at, you suggested that the dinner will be at Kenma's home.

Food eaten at home is the best after all, especially when that home feels warm and inviting. You made dinner, together with the help of Kenma's mother. Although Aihara's wife wanted to help, you told her it's really fine not to and just enjoy herself watching the kids play.

The dinner, as well, was eventful. A few exchanges here and there, the kids have eaten more than they did during lunch. It was a momentous dinner. And when dessert was served, the kids enjoyed it a lot.

"My daddy has an arcade room," Suki said, making you, as well as Kenma look at her.

"An arcade room?" Hiro asked, his face slowly litting up in excitement and eagerness. "An arcade room! I wanna see!"

"Sorry, our son has been playing a lot of video games lately," Aihara's wife said.

"Oh really?" Kenma asked.

"Daddy," Suki suddenly said, walking up to Kenma with Hiro behind her. "Can we go to the arcade room?"

Kenma really doesn't see any reason to refuse. So he stood up and asked Aihara to come too. And while they headed there, you along with Keina and Aihara's wife cleaned the kitchen, all the while chatting about things. It made you realize that these two women were mothers, but not once did you feel that you were out of place.

The spring had drawn its curtain and summer had officially started. It feels like another part of a story has ended, though with many more parts to come.

A week after the graduation ceremony, the Aiharas left the country, starting life anew in a new land.

It feels like a lot of things have happened since you first met this little girl. And so many more will happen from then onwards.
