'She made me one too. You're not that special.'

Kenma's words echoed in your mind even after a few days since he said that. You wouldn't really be bothered by it if not for noticing Suki's behavior towards her father. And perhaps, you thought, Kenma's words did affect her when he said that exact statement.

You knew he's his daughter, no doubt about it since they resemble each other in more ways than one. But sometimes you couldn't help but notice the way he's treating Suki like she isn't his own daughter. Not that he's neglecting her or anything, but his inconsequential snide remarks and constantly thought-provoking her with often childish challenges.

"Honestly, why is he like that?" you muttered, walking towards the kitchen but you were startled to run into Kenma.

"Why is he like what?" he asked, making you take a step back, avoiding his gaze as you look elsewhere. "You aren't pertaining to me, are you, Y/n?"

"Whaβ€”no, of course not. Why would I..." you muttered, trying to walk past him but Kenma is clearly blocking your way until you felt like you're backed into a corner like a prey with no way out.

"Y/n," he called, causing you to avert your gaze from the basket of fruit on the kitchen island to look at Kenma. "Iβ€”"

"Mommy good morning!" Suki said, her voice cheerful as she made her way to the kitchen only to stop when she saw you with Kenma. "Oh, daddy's here too."

"Suki-chan," you said, making your way to the little girl to finally escape Kenma's possible interrogation. "Did Suki-chan sleep well last night?"

The little girl nodded and you ruffled her hair lightly before you two walked towards the kitchen island where she settled on her chair while you walked over the fridge to get her a glass of milk.

"Why are you up early, you don't have school today," Kenma said, turning to his daughter as you handed her the strawberry milk.

"Then why is daddy up early too, daddy doesn't go to school either."

You wouldn't be so surprise anymore with her little snide remarks since you knew she got that from none other than her father.

"I go to work."

"Like two times every month?" Suki said, gulping down her milk.

Kenma didn't say anything else as he made his way to his room, you thought you heard him sigh before he left, but you couldn't really tell for certain. Instead of thinking about it, you walked up to Suki who just finished a whole glass of strawberry milk.

"Suki-chan, your daddy goes to work twice a month?"

She nodded her head, putting the empty glass down before she wipe her lips with the sleeve of her dress.

You knew Kenma is a stock trader, and when he buys enough stock he can have a seat in the board of a company where he bought the stock from. You knew he must have bought quite a lot of stocks to the point that he is a member of the board.

"So when daddy goes to work, is Suki-chan all alone in the house?"

"No," she said, turning to you. "Daddy would bring me to grandma's house or grandma would come here."

"Ah, I see," you said. And suddenly, a question popped in your head and you realized you have asked it out loud. "What is Suki's grandma like?"

"Grandma is a very nice person," Suki answered, causing you to blink and looked at her. "She brings food whenever she comes here."

You nodded your head in understanding. You haven't met Kenma's mother but you have an inkling that she's really a nice person, and it's not just because Suki said so herself. It's just your intuition, and besides, what good would it be to judge someone in a bad light if you haven't met that person.

Although thinking about meeting Kenma's mother made you nervous for some reason. But you didn't let that bother you so much as you walk around the kitchen island.

"Let's prepare breakfast, Suki-chan," you said but then you stopped when a thought crossed your mind. "Ah, Suki-chan, how about we make bento?"

"Bento?" Suki asked, tilting her head to the side. "But I don't have school today though?"

"It's alright, let's make bento together then eat it for breakfast."

Suki's eyes lit up in excitement as she jumped down the stool and run towards you.

You couldn't help but still feel somewhat bothered by Kenma's remark on Suki last time. So to make her feel special in a way, you thought about making bento with her.

"Should I ask daddy too?"

"What?" you asked, the scenario that was playing in your mind of you and Suki making bento together suddenly vanished like smoke when you heard what Suki said. "Isn't your daddy busy?"

"No," she said, shaking her head. "Daddy only play games when he's home, he isn't even streaming that much lately."

"Ah, but Suki-chan, wouldn't it be better if it's just the two of us?" you asked slowly. "You know, just Suki-chan and mommy."

"And daddy..." she added slowly.

You chuckled lowly, almost forcefully as you averted your gaze. Lately you couldn't help but feel somewhat flustered when Kenma's around. And what happened earlier also didn't help you feel any less flustered.

"I'm going to get daddy."

Before you can say anything, Suki is already running towards Kenma's room and you were left standing there until your back hit the edge of the counter and you turned around, propping your hands on the counter.

Suki on the other hand run up to Kenma's room. She stood there for a second before she knocked a few times. Kenma who's sitting on his gaming chair while busy playing a game heard the knock, he stopped for a second, judging by the sound of the knock, he knew it's Suki who's knocking.

He didn't even have to say anything as the door opened and Suki walked in. Kenma quit the game as the little girl made her way towards him before she stopped and propped her chin on the armrest of Kenma's chair.

"Daddy," she started. "Let's make bento with mommy."

Kenma still feels a bit odd whenever he hears Suki saying mommy, since she grew up without calling anyone mommy, hearing her say that now made Kenma feel something he couldn't quite pinpoint.

"Why are you two even going to make bento, you don't have school today?"

"Dunno, mommy just feels like it," she said with a shrug before she straightened up and walked in front of Kenma, taking his arm as she pulled Kenma up, or at least tried to pull him up his chair. "Come on, daddy."

Kenma sighed inaudibly before he finally stood up, throwing the controller on the gaming chair as he followed Suki out of his room. When they arrived at the kitchen, they saw you had already readied everything.

You were half expecting Suki would come back on her own since you thought Kenma might be too busy to be persuaded by his daughter. But it seems he is willing to put aside anything for her.

"Suki-chan, let's start," you said as Suki run up to you while Kenma followed behind.

There were three empty bento boxes on the island while the rice and food are on the counter. After Suki and Kenma washed their hands and as Suki settled on the stool in front of the kitchen island, you stood beside her while Kenma stood on the other side, having Suki in between you and him.

"Why don't we start by making onigiri?" you said.

"Onigiri!" Suki seem to like onigiri as she nodded her head in excitement.

You put a bowl on the island and everything that's needed to make onigiri. You were the first to make one as the two watched and once you're done, you put it on the plate.

"Let's try making another one, Suki-chan," you said before you looked at Kenma who looked at you in return. "If you want to make one too..." you trailed off.

"Sure," he said, rolling up his sleeves.

While Kenma is busy making onigiri, you help Suki until she can make one on her own, which she was very proud of.

"Ah, this reminds me of the onigiri I always had back in high school," you said. "He always makes delicious onigiri."

"Who does?" Kenma suddenly asked, and you were a bit surprise he was able to hear what you were muttering about.

"No, it's nothing," you said, shaking your head and going back to the onigiri you're making.

"The person who always makes delicious onigiri," Kenma started. "Is he also the same person who used to wait for you until you boarded the bus back in high school?"

You stopped for a second before you tore your gaze from the onigiri to look at Kenma to see that he's already looking at you.

"Is he the same person who made you feel safe and protected?"

It took you a few seconds to answer, you were trying to comprehend Kenma's expression that came along with his question.

"No," you finally said, tearing your gaze from him as you chuckled lightly. "But they were good friends. I suddenly miss them."

And without thinking about it, you suddenly took a bite of the onigiri in your hand and only realized it when you tasted the tuna flavor in your mouth.

"Y/n, did you justβ€”"

"Woah, this is really good!" you said, cutting Kenma off because you have a feeling you know what he's about to say, something along the line of did you just eat the onigiri we're supposed to be making?

"Suki-chan, want to try it?"

Suki nodded her head and you fed her the remaining onigiri in your head before taking one from the plate.

"Here say ahβ€”"

You suddenly realized you were going to feed it to Kenma and you quickly stopped yourself, your hand freezing before you went back to your senses like reality knocked you back and you retrieved your hand.

You were about to take a bite of the onigiri instead when you suddenly felt Kenma's hand around your wrist, making you stop. You watched as Kenma leaned forward, pulling your hand towards him and took a bite of the onigiri before his eyes flickered up at you.

You stared at him in surprise and for a second time seem to stand still until you heard something. Maybe it's because he was holding your wrist, maybe it's because you were lost in his amber hues. But for some reason, you thought you heard your heart thumping, skipping a beat until you felt your cheeks starting to heat up.

"It's good."

Only when Kenma spoke did you feel time started running again, though it didn't stop to begin with. He let go of your wrist and you released the breath you didn't know you were holding. Kenma leaned back, wiping the side of his lips with his thumb as he chewed the onigiri.

You were about to eat the remaining onigiri in your hand when you realized it's the one Kenma took a bite of and you quickly stop, closing your mouth before you outstretched your hand towards Kenma.

"Here," you said. "You might as well have the rest."

Kenma looked at the onigiri before he looked at you to see that you weren't even looking at him. He couldn't help but chuckle lightly, almost inaudibly as he took the onigiri from your hand.

Once he's done eating the rest, Kenma spoke again.

"So, the guy who makes delicious onigiri, is he also your classmate inβ€”"

This time Kenma was cut off by the notification from his phone as he took it out and looked at it.

"Why do so many guys keep bothering me early in the morning?"

"What?" you suddenly asked, averting your gaze to Kenma who's looking down at his phone. Suki pulled his arm down to look at it as well out of curiosity.

"Ah, it's Uncle Kuroo?"

"What?!" you asked again, this time louder.
