Levi did keep his promise. He said he would be done cleaning for one day and by the next day until next week he will do whatever you want to do. And Levi was able to finish cleaning after a day.

"I must say," you started, finger brushing on the wooden table before lifting it up to look at it. "I'm really impressed. The whole place is spotless."

Levi folded the newspaper and put it down before putting the teacup he was holding back on the saucer. "This was nothing," he said simply before standing up.

"No, this is something. I think this is really impressive. You managed to turn everything into a shining–"

You were cut off when you were suddenly pulled forward and Levi's arm snaked around your waist as you put your arms between you and him instinctively before you outstretched them and put them on his shoulders.

"What now?" you asked, voice lace with a light tone as you felt your lips stretching in a smile the more you look at Levi who is staring at you, despite with the same almost stoic expression he always has, there is a glimpse in his eyes that only you can see when he's looking only at you.

"Now," he started, stepping closer to you. "It's your turn."

"It's my turn to..." you muttered, trailing off. "...clean?"

"No," Levi said. "I'm done cleaning. It's your turn now. I'll give you my undivided attention."

"Oh great, I feel so important," you said a bit sarcastically as you started to chuckle before leaning closer to him, your light laughter easing down until a smile is what was left lingering on your lips before you continued. "But seriously, I always feel important. To the point that I want to be the only most important person to humanity's strongest soldier."

You leaned in, closing the gap between you two until you felt his lips on yours and for a second your lips were simply just touching his until you leaned back.

"And sometimes I think it was being selfish of me to want such a thing."

To be the sole most important person to humanity's strongest soldier felt like a selfish thing to even desire. Because he is humanity's strongest soldier and he is not just yours to keep.

"No," Levi said, although he barely whispered the word yet you heard it loud and clear. "You are the only person who has the only right to desire such a thing."

Because you're his wife. And you have the only right.

And when a time comes when Levi has to choose between you and saving a hundred people, he will choose you even if you tell him not to. Levi knew that it was selfish of him to even think of such a thing as much as you think it's being selfish of you to want to be the only most important person to him.

So he refrained himself from saying it out loud, he just simply thought of it and he kept himself from saying it because he doesn't want to spoil this moment. The moment that felt as though it's frozen in an ephemeral period of time.

Although he hoped that such a time would never come when he had to make a choice. He hoped silently, as he leaned closer and sealed his lips with yours and your lips danced along with his as you kissed back, Levi hoped that a time when he had to make that choice would never come.

After a few seconds that felt like a lifetime, you leaned back, although still too close to him as your forehead touched his, eyes looking down before they flickered up at him.

"You taste like mint," you muttered, biting your lower lip a bit. "I like it."

"That's why I've been drinking fresh mint tea, because I knew you'd like mint."

"Oh you sly little–" you yelped when you were suddenly hoisted up and you instinctively gripped his shoulder as Levi started to walk.

"I can walk just fine, you know." Levi looked at you but he didn't say anything. "And I'm getting heavier."

"So you're aware that you're heavy?"

"Hey!" you said in protest, hitting him on the chest as Levi looked ahead, traces of a smile lingering on his lips as you couldn't help but smile as well.

Until he got to the bedroom and carefully put you down before he propped his elbow on the pillows piled up to support himself up. You saw him looking down for a second so you took his wrist and put his other hand on top of your belly.

"It's been seven months," you muttered, hand on top of his hand that's on top of your belly before your hand slid down to your side as you looked up at Levi. "Hange said my bump is smaller than most so it looks like I'm not seven months along."

"Is it a good thing or a bad thing?"

"She didn't say," you said with a shrug of your shoulders as you moved and sat up and Levi did as well. "Oh but she told me a few fascinating things."

"Hange did?" Levi asked, a bit skeptical. He doesn't know that Hange is ever interested in this kind of thing. If anything, if a fascinating thing comes from her, it would most likely be about titans because those are the only things she ever found fascinating.

"Yes, she said the baby's hearing is fully developed at this stage so it means it can hear us."

"Really?" Levi asked, starting to feel a bit interested.

"Yes, so you should refrain from saying your very colorful vocabularies out loud."

"What, like the word shi–" You quickly covered Levi's mouth with your hand and glared at him before he pulled your hand down. "Alright, I won't do it."

"Oh and since our baby can hear us, I think it would be great to talk to it. Hange also said it responds to stimuli like sounds and other things."

"You really believe what Hange said?" Levi asked, though his tone was not quite serious and with a hint of humor as you chuckled.

"Of course I do, Hange's really smart. If we forget her odd obsessions." Levi shook his head. "Come on, try talking to our baby."

He looked at you as you nodded your head down before Levi slowly leaned down and cleared his throat lightly. "Hey kid," he started. "It's me, your dad."

Levi's eyes flickered up at you and you looked at him as if saying he should continue and he looked back at your belly again. He's silent for a second as if thinking about what to say next until he continues.

"Must be nice being in there. Is it comfortable? Eating and sleeping for nine months without doing any–"

You suddenly gasped and Levi was cut off as he quickly looked at you. But before he could ask what was wrong, you spoke.

"It just kicked," you muttered, still a bit astonished before you smiled. "It kicked!"

"It kicked?" Levi asked, eyebrows furrowed.

"Yes! Our baby heard what you're saying so it kicked to shut you up," you said before bursting out laughing as Levi sat up. Once you've calmed down from your laughing fit you cleared your throat and took his hand as you placed it on your belly. "Here, wait for it."

Levi tore his eyes from you and looked down, his hand on your belly as he waited for a few seconds but he didn't feel any difference.

"Hey baby, it's me, your mom. Do you want to send another kick to your dad?"

After a second Levi was about to retract his hand when he felt it.

He had never felt something like that before. It was a whole new thing for him that he could not pinpoint what it is he is feeling at that moment. It felt like time stood still for a while. It was a light push that could hardly be felt, a small push on his palm that sent something warm in his chest. It was the first time he felt something like that and he knew it's something he would never forget.

To you it felt like a flutter, like the butterflies you feel when you're nervous or a little fish swimming inside your tummy. The baby must have sensed your feeling of elation so it continued to move, sending gentle thuds and light tickles in your belly.

When you looked at Levi, you saw him staring at your belly before he felt your eyes on him so he looked up at you.

"So the baby can hear us?" he asked, sitting up, moving a bit closer to you as you waited for him to continue. And he did after a few seconds. Although it was something you least expect him to say.

"So we can't take it too far. Since we don't want our baby to be hearing inappropriate things. You know like..." Levi trailed off before he moved closer to you until he could whisper in your ear. "... you moaning out its dad's name."
