Chapter One: Normal Day

โ”โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ•ฎแŸšโ•ญโ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”

WAKING UP first thing in the morning and hearing the thoughts of many people is the usual for Saiki Y/n. Besides that, she could hear the thoughts of her mother from downstairs without even asking for it. Thatโ”€ladies and gentlemen is what telepathy causes to happen for the young psychic. She can't really control or even block their thoughts out even if she wanted to. Despite that, even if she can use her germanium ring, hearing people's thoughts were rather interesting for the young psychic.

The (h/c) haired female felt the soft surface of his cotton slippers as she slipped her foot on it. She left her room still on her pajamas, her (e/c) darting towards a familiar brunette with glasses. A cheerful smile formed on his face at the sight of her bed head daughter who just stared back at him with a stoic look. "Oh! Good morning, Y/n-Chan!" He greeted her with such enthusiasm. The psychic nodded her head once before she telepathically answered her father.

"Good morning," she plainly answered him without even bothering to mirror his tone. Y/n and her father walked together downstairs as the man kept the conversation going with his daughter. "Fine day isn't it? Your mother is preparing breakfast downstairs, luckily you woke up just in time!" he continued as the female followed him. "I can practically hear your thoughts inside my room, so I knew that already," Y/n responded blankly.

Once as the two Saikis arrived the dining room, they were met with an ecstatic beam from the only other female in the house. "Great! N/n-kun, you're here. It's time for breakfast," the black haired woman gave out a closed eyes smile as she organized the food on the table. That was when Kurumi and Kuniharu began to argue for some reason but Y/n couldn't care less as she ate alone on the table.

Another not-so-ordinary day for Saiki Y/n.

Being born a psychic has its perks, although when you're Y/n who is seeking for a normal life then your unlucky. The girl had earned the media's attention from the past or most specifically, during her kindergarten. After the incident, she found that she couldn't use her powers in front of many people anymore but when she does, she tries her best to make sure no one will see her.ย The only people who knew of her being a psychic is her mother, Kurumi, her father, Kuniharu and a few acquaintances.

Like how she was taught by her mother, Y/n only used her powers when it's necessary. But of course, she couldn't stop herself from using it because sometimes it would get out of control. That's why she's wearing accessories to lessen the effects of her powers or ratherโ”€limit them. Y/n was like a silent hero. She knows it when there's danger near her. With the use of her abilities, she tries to put a stop on those situations from happening.

Walking to class, the thoughts of the students of Akademi High School was practically like a sea. Each one had interesting stories but some were rather unnecessary. With a look as stoic as ever, Y/n silently listened to what her classmates has to say about their day. Like usual, she would just sit on her assigned seat as the others were talking to each other. No one bothered to approach her and that was the usual, she didn't have friends and she didn't ask for any.

"Haven't you heard? There's a new male substitute teacher today," a classmate of hers began as they gossip their way through the conversation. 'And I heard that he's hot,' she commented inside her mind. One of them leaned in curiosity as they continued. "Really? I guess the rumors are indeed true," the other female student tapped her chin. 'That means I have to get to his good side if I haveย to pass this subject,' she wondered out, unaware of the psychic behind them.ย

Y/n could only cringe mentally, questioning the thoughts of her classmates. 'Is that the only thing that they are thinking about?' The teen psychic commented internally, her stoic look never leaving her visage despite her reaction. 'With my precognition, I know that he's no good. I can't believe this school will allow a teacher like that to teach here,' she continued, knowing how the said teacher was like. Even with the way he looks like clearly speaks of his personality which is another trouble for the psychic that she needed to avoid.

The (h/c) haired girl ignored them as she listened to another one of her classmates conversations.

"I heard a student nearly got hit by a car!ย Luckily, someone pulled them away before they got hit!" One of the male students from her class told his seat mate. "What? Are they okay?!" His female seat mate leaned towards his table in concern. "Yeah, they're fine. From what I heard, his someone from our year!" The male student continued the conversation as he began to gather a small crowd with curious and concern classmates.

Y/n kept quiet as she watched them continue conversing with one another. Obviously, the psychic knew of the situation because she's the person who pulled the student away. With her powers, she predicted that there was going to be something coming over their way. Right after she managed to pull the student away, she went back to her path towards the school like there was no problem. The last thing that she wanted is for the student to know who their saviour was or she would've gotten so much attention which she dislikes so much.

Nothing else caught her interest and most of her classmates' conversation were old news. Like usual, she actually doesn't need to listen to the teacher because she would already know everything right on spot. Even if she wasย able to use all of her intelligence, she still chose to remain under low profile. To her bliss, mostly everyone's likability of her we're either 40 or just right about average. She doesn't need to increase those from everyone anytime soon, not like she wanted to anyway.

Some people already like her a bit tooย much to her liking which was troublesome for her.

Soon, the teacher arrived and everyone was able to start their class. Everything else went off smoothly to the way Y/n preferred it to be. A normal morning, for a not-so-normal teenager. As if morning went in a flash, it was finally time for lunch. Y/n stood in front of a vending machine, wondering to herself what to drink to go along with her lunch.ย Contemplating to herself, she noticed that one of her favourite brand yogurt milk ran out which added a gloom to her day.

That was the first thing that she disliked that day. Although, as she stood, with her telepathy, she knew someone was behind her. She could feel a stare lingering at the back of her head. She turned her head to face someone she wasn't familiar ofโ”€if she based on their thoughts. Her (e/c) orbs met with dark ones. She had long black hair reaching down to her back. The psychic noticed that she was the girl one of her classmates would always hang around.

'Here goes nothing.' Y/n heard her thoughts.

"Uhm.. hey, I noticed how you're searching for something in the vending machine. I kind of have seen you pick out a certain brand every lunch here and now, they ran out. I felt bad since I assume it's your favourite one so I wanted to offer mine," she said to Y/n with a considerate voice. The psychic saw no signs of hesitation and she noticed how she offered out of real kindness. "Don't worry, of course I haven't opened it. No need to pay me back, I just think you need it more than me, I can get anything else," she waved her other hand as she reached out something.

The psychic's eyes darted towards the yogurt milk that she would buy every lunch from her hand. 'This is from her genuine kindness so I see nothing wrong in accepting it, but I do hate owing people favours,' Y/n thought to herself. Even if Y/n despised the thought of owing random people favours, she reluctantly accepted it before telepathically talking to the long haired student. "Thank you, I appreciate your generosity," Y/n nodded her head, accepting the box of yogurt milk from the female's hand. "No problem, my name is Yamada Taeko pleasure to meet your acquaintance," she smiled brightly.

It's rare to see people like her actually exist.ย "Saiki Y/n, nice to meet you too," Y/n bowed her head politely to Taeko who seemed to appreciate it. "Hopefully you'll have a good lunch, I better be off now. A friend of mine is waiting for me, goodbye," she waved her hand before going back to a certain bench nearby. The psychic noticed how the girl approached a familiar ginger from her class.

Like how she remembered, she was the girl Osano was always with. Y/n guessed they're close friends. 'Looks like I will be seeing you more from now on, Yamada. No matter how much I hate it, I still owe you a favour,'ย Y/n internally told herself before taking off back to her usual place. She glanced towards the box on her hand. Taeko really saved her lunch, somehow, she's quite lucky today.ย

What she didn't know was that interaction will be the start of something that one day might involve her. She's now a part of Taeko Yamada's life, unfortunately.

"Where did you go!? Jeez, you took so long," Osano questioned the female in annoyance. To his demise, Taeko had made Osano wait along the bench for quite some time. All he knew was that the female in front of him just wanted to get herself a drink but he didn't understand what took her so long. "Sorry, Osano. I had to give away my drink to someone who wanted it more," She innocently smiled at the orange head, hoping for him to consider the situation.

Of course Osano reacted differently as usual. "You gave your drink away!? How stupid can you get?" Osano placed his hands on his waist. Although in reality, Osano was actually touched by this and even swooned at her kindness but of course, he won't admit that. "Tch, fine! Take mine, let's just start eating already," Osano had a blush rising to his cheeks, avoiding her gaze while reaching out his drink to her.

Taeko blinked at what she received before smiling brightly at her childhood friend. "Wow! Thank you, Osano," she genuinely thanked the ginger haired man who bursted more into deep red. "J-just shut up, I-I was just trying to help you in case you'll start being annoying! I really don't care!" He stammered, grabbing his bento before marching out of nowhere. Just before he could leave her completely he paused and slowly side glanced the black haired upperclassman.

"What are you standing for? Let's go!" He told her and soon she followed the younger student.

What a normal day in Akademi High it was.
