THE NEW YEAR had begun and Skye couldn't wait for it to be over already. School was absolutely killing her.

Tackling homework and actual work was more difficult than she expected it to be. But she couldn't give up, it would all be worth it in the end, or at least she hoped.

She was so busy and stressed that she barely saw Soda anymore unless it was at work. She couldn't wait till summer so she could relax again, only a couple more months left and then she would officially be a high school graduate.

She couldn't wait to get out of here.

The only thing she wasn't excited about was leaving her family behind, leaving them would be hard but it's not like she wasn't going to see them again.

She would visit them for holidays, birthdays, and summers. She hoped that Soda would join her and move away with her, she understood him staying behind while she was at college.

But she hoped that after she was done with college that he would move away with her and they can buy a small house, have a few kids and just live happily ever after.

That would be a dream come true.

But that was all it was, a dream. She really hoped that it could come true one day, but right now she has to focus on the now.

She only had a few months left to spend with her family and she wanted to waist no time. She realized how distant she was being from everyone, school had become her top priority that she had forgotten about everything else.

So every weekend she would take a break from her school stuff and spend time with her family and friends.

She was starting to get nervous though, she had sent her college applications months ago and she still hadn't gotten any letters back from any of the colleges she applied to.

She really hoped she would get in to the University of New York, better known as NYU. She wanted to study business so she could become a business woman or even start a business of her own one day.

She also applied to the University of Chicago, she applied to a bunch of top colleges but she also applied to some colleges that were closer to home so she wouldn't be too far away from her family.

She just wanted to know that she had choices and opportunities before she chose what school she really wanted to go to.

Everyday she checked the mail box for any letters but none ever came. Her mom reassured her that it would be okay and that they would accept her because she was smart and a good student.

She hoped she was right.

It was the weekend which meant it was time to relax and have fun. She was going to walk to Soda's house but he insisted on picking her up in his new car that he absolutely loved.

Steve was starting to getting annoyed at Soda because he wouldn't stop bragging about how amazing his car was.

Skye waved her mom goodbye and left the house, she hopped into Soda's car and pecked him on the lips.

"So, what's the plan for today?"

"Well, I was thinking of making today a date night, just the two of us, we could go watch a movie at the Nightly Double, we could go eat at the Dingo, or we could go to the park and-"

Soda stopped talking when he realized what he said, "Yeah let's never go to the park again." Skye said and Soda winced.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"It's okay, really, let's just change the subject." Skye shook it off.

"Yeah, good idea." Soda nodded.

"A movie sounds good though, so let's do that." Skye said and Soda smiled and grabbed her hand, "Movie it is then."

"We can eat at my house before we leave." Soda said and Skye nodded in agreement.

They got to Soda's house and when they walked in the house was surprisingly empty. Darry was at work, Pony was out with Johnny, Steve was with Evie, Two-Bot was probably out getting drunk, and who knows what Dallas was doing.

So it was just the two of them.

Soda offered to cook for them so Skye let him cook while she watched TV.

It took him two hours but he managed to cook some spaghetti and meatballs without burning it, well he actually burnt the first batch which is why it took him two hours, but hey, progress.

He set up the table and called Skye into the kitchen so they could eat. He made her close her eyes so he could surprise her, so she covered her eyes as she walked into the kitchen.

"Okay, open your eyes!"

Skye uncovered her eyes and her lips curved into a smile, "This looks amazing!" She exclaimed.

"Really?"

"Yeah! You even put candles and everything," Skye said, she walked around the table examining the little details on the table.

"So does that mean you like it?" Soda asked, Skye smiled and she walked up to him, she grabbed the back of his neck and kissed him.

"I love it."

Skye turned away from him and Soda snapped out of his trance, he pulled the chair out for her and she took a seat and thanked him.

They talked while they ate and they waited an hour after eating to go to the Nightly Double so they could go watch a movie.

They drove to the Nightly Double and bought their tickets and watched the movie in the car. It was just a random beach movie so instead of actually watching the movie they just made out in the backseat.

While they made out there was a knock on the window and Soda jumped up and hit his head on the ceiling of the car.

He rubbed his head and Skye hid her face in embarrassment. Soda looked up to see who was knocking and was relieved to see that it was only Two-Bit.

Two-Bit looked at the two, pointing and laughing. Soda rolled down the window and Skye reached over and smacked Two-Bits arm.

"What the hell two?!"

Two-Bit only continued to laughed.

Skye rolled her eyes and climbed back into the passengers seat.

"What are you doing here Two-Bit?" Soda asked him, "He's probably looking for some poor girls to prey on," Skye mumbled.

"That is correct."

Skye rolled her eyes and Soda only chuckled, "Alright, well good luck and don't get arrested, please, we don't need to go waisting any more money just to bail your drunk ass out." Soda said.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine, but I'm not promising anything." Two-Bit said and he stumbled away.

"It's not even ten o clock yet and he's already drunk," Skye said as Soda climbed back into the drivers seat.

"Well you know two, he's never sober."

"Yeah." Skye sighed.

"Want me to drive you home? This movies boring anyways," Soda asked Skye, "Yeah, but let's just go back to your place, I don't feel like going home tonight." Skye said.

Soda smiled and nodded, "Let's go then."
