IT WAS GRADUATION day and Skye was extremely nervous. She was also excited but nervous at the same time, she was graduating high school.

The minute she stepped off that stage with her diploma in hand, it would all be over. She would officially be an adult and she would have to go out on her own and join the real world.

She was scared but hopeful and excited, this meant that she was now free to do whatever she wanted, to go wherever she wanted.

She's always wanted to explore the world and now she would be able to do so.

Her name was called through the microphone and her breath hitched in her throat, she stood up slowly and all she could hear was her pounding heart.

Before grabbing her diploma her eyes searched the crowd of families and spotted the gang sitting with her mom in the front row.

They gave her a thumbs up and she smiled, she turned to the principal and she shook his hand and he handed her her diploma.

She thanked him and she walked off the stage, the gang cheered her on as she walked off the stage and back to her seat.

They were the loudest ones there cheering for her and she couldn't have been more grateful.

After the ceremony they waited for Skye outside the school and when they saw her Two-Bit was the first one to tackle her into a hug.

He picked her up and spun her around, she let out a laugh and shouted at him to put her down.

Soda was the second person to hug her, he gave her a kiss and placed his forehead on hers, "I'm proud of you."

She smiled and Soda was yanked away by Steve, "Hands off buddy, it's my turn."

Steve picked her up and spun her around just like Two-Bit did, but he was doing it on purpose because he knew she didn't like it.

"Congrats on graduating, you're finally free from this hell hole." Steve put her down and Skye chuckled, "Thanks Stevie."

His smile dropped at the nickname and he scowled at her and walked away.

Pony congratulated her and so did Johnny, Darry gave her a tight hug and told her he was proud of her. Dallas just gave her a nod of approval and a "nice job kid."

Her mom was last and she was crying when Skye went to hug her, "Oh, mom don't cry."

"I'm sorry, I just can't help it, I'm so proud of you." Her mom cried, Skye chuckled and pulled away from their hug.

"Thanks, mom."

Skye looked back at the boys who were talking amongst themselves, she looked back at her mom and pulled her aside.

"Hey, have any letters came through?" She whispered, her mom frowned, "No, not yet."

Skye sighed, "What if I didn't get accepted? I mean I sent that application months ago why haven't they written back yet?"

"Don't worry, I'm sure they'll send a letter soon letting you know, you can worry about it later but today, we celebrate." Her mom said.

Skye smiled, "You're right, I shouldn't worry on my big day."

Her mom grinned, "That's the spirit, now come on, we're going out to dinner."

They all went out to eat at the Dingo and after that they went back to Skye's house to have some cake that her mom had made.

"So, you're a high school graduate now, huh? How's that feel?" Two-Bit asked Skye, "It feels great, I feel relieved now that I'm finally out of that hell hole." Skye responded.

Two-Bit sighed, "I'm going to miss seeing you in class," he frowned.

"Maybe if you'd graduate then maybe you wouldn't miss me so much.

"We both know that's never going to happen."

"You're nineteen now, you're going to have to stop going to school at some point." Skye said and Two-Bit shrugged, "Maybe someday."

Skye shook her head and Soda joined them on the couch, "What you two talking about?"

"Oh nothing, just telling Two-Bit that he's a little too old now to still be going to high school." Skye gave Two-Bit a pointed look.

Two-Bit rolled his eyes, "Whatever." He stood up and walked away.

Skye chuckled and turned to Soda, "You enjoying your little party?" He asked her. "I wouldn't exactly call it a party but, yes, I am." She smiled.

"Have you been accepted to any colleges yet?" He asked, "Not the ones that really matter, no." Skye sighed.

He gave her a sympathetic smile, "Don't worry, I'm sure they'll accept you, they'll be stupid not to." He reassured her.

She smiled softly, "Thanks."

The boys stayed over that night and in the morning Darry and Skye's mom made breakfast.

Soda had stayed in Skye's room with Skye, they were cuddled up with each other when they were woken up by the sound of screaming.

They both jumped out of bed and ran towards the screaming, it was only Two-Bit who was screaming because he burnt his finger on the stove.

Both Soda and Skye cussed him out for waking them up and headed back into Skye's room. Skye, who was still half asleep, flopped onto the bed and shut her eyes to get a few more minutes of sleep.

Soda put his shirt back on and slipped his shoes on, he looked over his shoulder to look at Skye who had fallen back asleep in a matter of seconds.

He smiled softly and he hovered over her and placed a small kiss on her head. Skye opened her eyes and gave him a sweet smile, Soda chuckled, "There she is."

"Hi."

She sat up and stretched her arms out, letting out a yawn, "God, I'm so tired." She groaned. "Come on, let's go have some breakfast." Soda held out his hand and she grabbed it.

They walked into the kitchen to find everyone already eating. Soda took a seat and Skye headed towards the front door, "I'm going to get the mail." She mumbled and walked out.

She grabbed the mail out of the mailbox and walked back inside the house, she flipped through the mail until she saw a letter that was addressed to her.

Her eyes widened and she tossed the other letters aside and ripped open the letter, it was from NYU. She read it over and a giant grin spread out across her face.

She let out a scream of excitement and everyone at the table jumped and looked at each other. They all stood up and rushed into the living room to see Skye jumping up and down.

"What's going on?"

"What happened?"

"I got in! I got accepted into NYU!!" Skye shouted, they all smiled and Soda pulled her into a hug, "I knew you would get in!"

Her mom shoved Soda aside and pulled her daughter into a hug, "Oh I'm so proud of you!"

Skye laughed and the boys surrounded them and joined in on the hug.

"We need to celebrate, drinks on me!" Two-Bit shouted, "No! We will not be drinking, don't even think about it." Her mom pointed a finger at Two-Bit.

"Fine." He grumbled.
