⚠️MENTIONS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT ⚠️

SKYE WAS NERVOUS to say the least. She stood in front of her house, her eyes focused on the door in front of her. She had been standing there for five minutes now, she was too nervous to knock.

Sure she had the key, but after what she said to her mom she didn't feel like it was right to just barge in. Soda had finally convinced Skye to go back home to talk and apologize to her mom.

She was mainly there for more clothes because she was running out, but it had been months since she's seen her mom.

It was time she faced her.

She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. A few seconds later the door opened and her mom was standing there, she looked surprised to see her there.

"Skye?"

Skye gave her a sheepish smile, "Hey mom."

Her mom wore an unreadable expression and without warning she pulled Skye into a tight hug. "Oh honey, where have you been? I've missed you."

Skye was taken back by the sudden force but she eventually hugged back and buried her face into the crook of her moms neck.

She couldn't help the tears that were welling up in her eyes and they just poured out.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Skye sobbed into her moms shoulder.

Her mom pulled away and held her daughters face in her hands, "For what? What are you sorry for?"

"For saying those things to you, you didn't deserve that, I'm sorry for not apologizing earlier I'm sorry that I've been such a horrible daughter," Skye continued to sob.

Her mom gave her a sympathetic look and wiped the girls tears away, "It's okay, it's okay I forgive you, you were right anyways I haven't been a great mother to you, and that's my own fault."

"Here let's go inside."

Her mom led her inside, "Do you want anything? A water or some tea?" Her mom questioned, Skye only shook her head.

She was just standing there, "You can sit down you know?" Her mom said, when Skye didn't say anything she knew something was wrong.

She took a step closer to the girl, "Skye what's wrong?" She asked her.

Skye's lip began to tremble and she just broke down, her mom pulled her into another hug, she could sense that something was very wrong.

"I was raped." Skye sobbed.

Her moms eyes widened and she pulled away, eyeing her daughter up and down.

"What?"

Skye put her head down and continued to sob, her legs felt weak and they gave out on her. Her mom caught her before she could hit the floor and they were both now kneeling on the floor.

Her mom held her daughter as she cried.

"It's okay, it's okay, I got you."

An hour passed by and Skye ended up passing out on the couch, all the crying tired her out. Her mom leaned against the kitchen counter, biting her nails as she watched Skye sleep.

She couldn't believe that this happened.

Not to her daughter.

She knew how something like this could affect someone, and it had taken a huge toll on Skye. The second she opened the door she could tell that Skye was not okay.

She was extremely skinny and pale, which meant she hadn't been eating very well, she had dark eye bags under her eyes and she just looked sick and tired.

She couldn't believe that this happened and she wasn't there to protect her, to comfort her and get her through this. She really was a horrible mother.

Skye woke up all of a sudden and sat up, she was breathing heavily on the verge of having a panic attack.

Her mom rushed over to her and pulled her into a hug, "It's okay, you're okay, you're safe." She said over and over again, trying to reassure her.

Skye closed her eyes and focused on her breathing, she managed to calm herself down and she pulled away from her mom.

She ran her hands down her face, "I'm sorry, it was just a nightmare,"

"Do you have them often?"

Skye scoffed, "Every time I close my eyes, that's why I don't sleep, because of the nightmares, every time I try to sleep I just wake up screaming, I haven't slept in months because of it." Skye explained.

"Months? Wait when did this happen?"

"About three months ago."

"Three months ago?! And I didn't know about this?" Her mom shouted, "I know I'm sorry, the day I yelled at you was a week after it happened, I wasn't in the right mind and I was just so angry and I took it out on you, I didn't tell you because I was scared."

"Of what?"

"Of disappointing you."

Her mom frowned, "Oh sweetie, you could never disappoint me."

Skye only frowned and played with her fingers, "Do you want to talk about it?" Her mom asked. Skye looked at her, maybe it was time she talked about it.

It had been three months and she hasn't talked about it with anyone other than Soda. And who better to talk about it with than her mom?

She nodded and her mom smiled softly, they got comfortable and Skye told her mom about the whole night. She talked about her date with Soda, what happened to them, and she even talked about the rumble and Bob stabbing Soda.

Her mom couldn't believe that this all happened in the span of three months. If only she knew who this Bob kid was so she could go beat the tar out of him, who cared if he was a minor, he deserved it anyways.

But hearing how Skye stood up for herself made her feel so proud of her daughter. Even after everything she still managed to take care of herself and hold herself together.

Skye grabbed some more clothes from her room and walked back into the living room, "Are you sure you don't want to stay? The house feels very lonely without you," her mom said.

"I don't know, I mean I do miss my room...I'll think about it." Skye said, her mom smiled and nodded.

"Sounds good to me."

This is more of a filler chapter, I just wanted to give Skye some closure with her mom. This book will be ending soon, it'll probably end at 60 chapters I'm not sure yet but I've made up my mind and there will be a sequel in the future:)
