There was a trial set up to decide whether Regulus deserves to be removed from the Slytherin Quidditch team after word spread that he charmed the Quaffle that hit James. Though there was still no concrete evidence, most of the students and staff were convinced it was him, so he would be put on trial and be either prosecuted or defended by witnesses of the incident.Β

As Ophelia prepared her testimony to save Regulus from getting kicked off the Quidditch team, she could feel herself becoming increasingly nervous for every word she spoke.

"You can't keep defending him." Pandora said from the doorway, catching Ophelia's attention.

"I can if he's not doing anything wrong." Ophelia told her. "And he hasn't done anything wrong."

"James was in the hospital for two days." Pandora said in a concerned tone. "He was unconscious for hours. Do you not see anything wrong with that?"

"What happened with my brother was horrible. We were all very concerned, we still are, a little. But Reggie isn't responsible for that."

"He isn't?"

"Pandora, could you leave me alone?" Ophelia asked. "I need to prepare and you aren't helping."

Pandora sighed and turned around, then stopped for a moment and turned back to look at Ophelia before leaving.Β

"How long are you going to keep doing this for Regulus?" Pandora asked in a pitying tone.Β

"I am always going to defend him." Ophelia promised. "No matter what anyone says to try and convince me against it."Β

----------

The Great Hall was used as a court for Regulus' trial. Chairs set up where first year students would be sorted into their houses on the first day of school each year.Β

Regulus was sitting by the side of the room as students from all different years and houses would share their interpretations of the incident. James was also sitting at the front, but the opposite side of the room from Regulus.

Until Ophelia arrived, the testimonies of the witnesses were split quite evenly, with about half of the students saying Regulus was at fault and the other half saying otherwise.Β

Most of the professors weren't interested in many of the testimonies out of the group. The professors were most interested in the testimony of one Ophelia Potter, and her unbiased opinion. Her opinion would be based on facts and truth rather than personal opinions on the students involved, as most other students treated the trial as Regulus Black against James Potter.Β

When Ophelia was called up, she took a deep breath before walking up to the front of the room. She needed one final moment to calm herself before telling her version of the story.

She walked over to the front of the Great Hall, and began to tell the professors what she witnessed.Β

"My eyes were darting between players, like how it is for most people watching the game, but I did see what happened. Regulus was on the other side of the pitch as James, and he was just as shocked as everyone when James was struck."

"Is that all?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"Yes, that's it." Ophelia said. "Regulus was on the other side of the pitch. Far, far away from James and the Quaffle."

Ophelia looked over to the sides of the room when she finished speaking. First looking at her brother, James, and then over to Regulus.

"Now we will ask a few questions." McGonagall said.

Ophelia nodded and prepared for the questions, even though she knew exactly what she was going to be asked. It was the same as every other student that went before her.

"Miss Potter, do you acknowledge that you are under oath here?" Dumbledore stepped in and asked.

That was question one.

"Yes." Ophelia said.

"Miss Potter, do you believe Regulus Black is innocent in this matter?"

That was question two, the one Ophelia was dreading the most.

"Regulus Black does not deserve any punishment for this." Ophelia said.

"That is not an answer to the question, Miss Potter." Dumbledore told her.

Of course, she knew that. Her answer was specifically made to not be an answer to the question.

"Miss Potter, we will ask one more time." Professor McGonagall said. "Do you believe Regulus Black is innocent in this matter?"

Ophelia took in a deep breath, calming herself down again.

"Yes." Ophelia lied. "Regulus Black is completely innocent. He had nothing to do with this incident."
