"Hey." EJ greeted the girl.

"Hey."

"I heard what happened."

Carly sighed. "Yeah."

"If you ever wanna talk about it, I'm here to listen. I know how you feel about that boy."

Carly smiled. "Thanks EJ. I just... I don't know, it's pathetic."

"It's not pathetic." EJ shook his head. He wanted to make it clear what the girl was feeling was valid. "You like the boy. And it was pretty hyprocritcal of him to go against your pact when he was the one who made it. You feel somewhat cheated on in a way."

"Yeah."

"You're allowed to feel angry at him. Upset. Disappointed. Any emotion you feel is totally acceptable. Don't think for a second you were at fault. You did absolutely nothing wrong." EJ reassured the girl. 

"Yeah. I just thought that my feelings for him were clear. You know. But maybe it's my fault because I never actively told him I liked him. And that I wanted to be with him. I just thought despite his dumbness, he would know."

EJ nodded. "Sometimes us boys could be obvious. And sometimes you gotta tell him straight up you like him."

"I'm lowkey scared EJ. Scared that he'll reject me or something. Or we'll lose our friendship we had."

"Understandable. But what are you gonna lose when you confess to him? The worst he'll say is no. But from the looks of it, that boy likes you."

"Really?"

EJ nodded. "Yup. You should see the death stares he gives me whenever I talk to you."

"He's just being protective that's all."

"Protective sure. But I would say possessive."

"Paxton does not like me. He would have told me."

EJ laughed. "Nevermind you're just as clueless as him."

"What?"

"You both like each other but are too scared to say anything because you don't wanna ruin your guys' friendship."

"For someone who likes me, sure is being supportive."

"Like I said, your rejection hurt yes. But I value our friendship and want to be supportive with whatever decisions you make."

"Thanks EJ."

"Talk to the boy alright. Hear what he has to say."

Carly nodded, taking the boy's words to heart.
