The day has been a drag. Carly was dreading going to AP Chemistry. Reasons because she hasn't talked to EJ ever since she practically embarrassed herself at the party. Maybe he won't remember?

The girl walked inside the classroom already seeing the boy sitting at their assigned lab table. At least she has her Caramel Macchiato Paxton got her to get her through the day.

"Hey." Carly smiled at the boy, setting her bag down.

"Hey. How are you?" EJ asked.

Carly shrugged. "I'm fine. This day has just been a drag."

EJ chuckled. "Can't argue with that."

"Listen... I'm sorry for what happened at the party. I don't really remember what I did or say but can we please put it behind us?"

EJ laughed and shook his head. "Carly, I'm not one to judge what you do drunk or sober. You clearly went through a lot these past few days and what happened at the party obviously didn't help but don't worry about it alright? My lips are sealed."

Carly sighed out of relief. She was grateful that EJ was so understanding. "You're the best EJ. Thanks."

"I know. So did you and Paxton break up or?"

"No actually we didn't."

"What?" EJ asked confused. He thought after the way the boy treated the girl she would have broken up with him.

"We talked about it and I decided to forgive him." Carly said, not wanting to say much anymore.

"You're kidding right?"

"Why would I be?"

"Are you forgetting he lied to you? He didn't tell you about the photoshoot, he goes MIA for god knows how long and all of a suddenly you forgive him because what? He said sorry?" EJ said. Carly knew the boy had a point but was too stubborn to accept it. 

"I don't need a recap EJ. I know what happened."

"But yet you're still with him." EJ pointed out. 

"I love him." Carly said.

EJ sighed. "Sometimes people confuse love with lust. I don't think you love Paxton. I think you're just lusting over him."

"How the hell would you know that?" Carly was slowly getting annoyed with this conversation. Everyone needs to stay out of her relationship.

"Maybe nothing." EJ shrugged. "But I know I do care for you and I always want what's best for you."

"And you don't think Paxton is that?"

EJ shook his head. "I'm sorry."

"Whatever." And with that the two of them didn't talk for the rest of the class like they always did.

YIKES not too sure how to react to this but was what EJ saying true? Was Carly confusing herself with loving Paxton over lusting over him?
