"Dive In My Ocean"

Dess stood in front of the mirror, listening to music as she got dressed. She was getting ready to attend a pool party with Freya to continue their freshmen week. A full week filled with different activities just for them. She was ready. Singing along to the music, Dess continued checking herself out in the mirror. She was wearing a pink spotted bikini, a white coverup, pink and white sandals to match. Pink, obviously, was her favorite color.

She twirled around with a smile on her face, ready to kick back by the pool and check out the fine young men lingering around. She sprayed on her perfume and put on her necklace her father gifted her for her birthday. While she finished up, Freya exit out the bathroom with a cloud of smoke surrounding her. Dess looked back at her roommate and best friend once the scent of weed filled her nose.

"Girl..." Freya began, rubbing her eyes. Dess shook her head, folding her towel, and putting it in her tote bag. She tossed the rest of her necessities in her bag while Freya got herself together.

"Okay, because that weed was banging." Freya chuckled, putting on her sandals. "Best I've ever had."

Dess chuckled, "Who you'd get it from again?" she questioned out of curiosity. Dess had never smoked weed before in all seventeen years of her life. It wasn't like she was one of those chicks who thought smoking weed was unattractive. She just never found a decent dealer so to say.

Freya tilted her head up to the sky, trying to remember where she got the weed from. Since move-in day, Freya had been wilding out like a typical freshmen girl would. She didn't have much freedom when she was home, so being out and about with no parent supervision brought out a different side of her. Of course, she was still going to act like she had some home trailing.

"Uhh, girl ion even know." Freya finally answered, giving up. She laughed hard, making Dess laugh too.

They finally calmed themselves down in order to finish getting ready. Once they were done, they both headed out the dorm, holding hands walking down the hall. They chit-chat about the pool party. Wondering what boys were they going to meet and new friends to add to their group. They saw a few other kids who were also heading to the pool party and joined them. They got on the shuttle bus which was already crowded with other students. They instantly joined in on the fun that was there already.

Finally arriving to the public pool, Dess and Freya walked hand-in-hand to the entrance. Island Girls by HoodCelebrityy played loudly, Dess started singing along while moving her hips. She was obsessed with HoodCelebrityy and the island vibes the beautiful black woman gave off. Dess wasn't from the islands, but whenever she heard their music she always assumed she was. Reaching the entrance, they were stopped by two older men.

"Ladies...welcome to paradise!" The brown skin man exclaimed, tossing his arms up. Freya and Dess looked at each other then shared a laugh.

"What's so funny?" the other older gentleman asked. Dess put her attention on him and couldn't help but admire his features.

If she could guess, he stood roughly five-ten. Beige skin with red undertones. Twists that didn't go past his ears, tattoos up and down both his arms. She noticed Greek letters on his right chest. She didn't know what it stood for, but she was intrigued to touch it. A gold chain around his neck with the name Asher on it. After admiring him for a good minute, she made eye contact with him and saw the smile on his face.

"Like what you see?" he cockily asked. Dess rolled her eyes, but deep down knew that she did. He was attractive no doubt.

She shrugged, "Hmm, you're pretty average." she told him and he smacked his lips.

"Yeah, aight. What's your name ma?" he questioned. Dess looked over at Freya seeing she was talking to the other dude. She figured she should entertain him for the moment. She did come out to have fun, so she was going to do just that.

"You can call me Dess," she flirted, putting her hand out. "And you?"

He grabbed her hand, shaking it. "Asher," he introduced himself.

Dess noticed the flirtatious look he was giving her and the sudden change in their handshake. He was holding onto her hand a little longer than need be. She didn't mind it and even decided to play along with the flirting.

"You know you looking mighty fine in that bathing suit." Asher complimented.

"Really?" She did a spin, Asher licking his lips as he checked out her body.

"Yeah, really." he answered. His hand found its way to her ass and he grabbed it. It caught Dess off guard and she wasn't sure if she liked it or not. It was a fine afternoon, so she wasn't going to make a big fuss out of it and cause a commotion. She played it off, chuckling and moving his hand from her.

"Can I go in now?" she asked, attempting to walk away but he grabbed her arm.

"I wanna chill with you later ma, so stick around." He told her. Dess gave him a small smile then walked around him. She grabbed Freya hand and the both entered through the gate for to party.

"Oooh, girl, it seem like that man is feeling you." Freya cooed, nudging Dess arm a couple of times.

Dess shook her head, "I believe he's feeling something else." she responded, glancing back at the gate. She saw Asher staring directly at her as if he was waiting for her to look at him. She gave him a wave and he sent a head nod back.

"Maybe he is," she shrugged, turning away. "But who really cares cause I'm about to turn the fuck up!"

~~~
"Imma ride that dick like a stolen car! I got the best pussy that you had thus far!" Dess and Freya rapped loudly together.
Once the beat dropped, Dess instantly got comfortable and started twerking. Freya got behind her and started smacking her ass while hyping her up. A crowd started to form around them and more girls joined in on the hype. Dess started feeling herself once she saw the flashing lights pointed at her. She placed her hands on her knees, looking back at Freya as she slowed it down then sped up again. It was mesmerizing how her ass could move like water in jeans.
"Aye, fuck it up!"
"Yasss, bitch!"
"Okayyyyy!"
Random girls continued to gas her up, smacking her ass, and filming her. This was just the type of vibe she wanted to experience while down here. She wanted to be free, wild, and dangerous. The song changed interrupting her flow. She was alright with it since she was growing tired. Who would've known twerking took up a lot of energy.
"Bitch, how come you didn't tell me you can shake ass like that?" Freya shouted over the music. In an attempt to answer, Dess was shoved their small circle shifted to something bigger. It was a sign that the Greeks were coming.
She looked around and saw the organizations beginning to stroll to the song. She heard the whistle, the loud squeaks, the clapping, and the barking. It didn't take long for her to see Asher in front of the line wearing a purple vest. After getting some background info, she found out that Asher and the dude Freya was talking to earlier were apart of the notorious Greek organization, the Que dogs. It all made sense to her when she found out the type of men who end up in that organization.
"I'll be back." Dess told Freya before Asher came by. She wasn't trying to look at him since she knew how those men were. And she was in the front too, so she was an easy target.
After receiving an ok from Freya, she made her way through the crowd. She didn't know where she was heading, but she needed to get away from everyone. Once free from the crowd, she made her way over to a table that surprising had drinks. She grabbed her a water bottle and took a minute to herself. Even from where she was standing, she could still hear all the Greeks and their chants.
Dess attention soon averted from the huge crowd and went to her phone. She checked her notifications, seeing a missed call from her father and a text message. She planned on texting him back later once she went back to her dorm. She already knew what he would be texting her about, so she didn't feel the need to answer back quickly. Her dad was still adjusting to being away from his baby girl even though she was doing good.
Amazing actually.
She put her phone away and finished her water. She planned on making her way back to Freya but took a detour when she saw a kid sitting by himself on the brick wall. Even though the guy head was in his phone, she was able to recognize who it was. Anyone who paid attention would be able to recognize the brown skin with the excessive curly hair.
Dess fixed herself before making her way over to him. It was obvious he was in his own world and she shouldn't bother him. However, it wasn't everyday she ends up seeing a person she followed on Instagram in real life. Reaching him, she cleared her throat making him look up.
"You look peaceful, but I just wanted to say hi." she spoke. He raised his brow, Dess instantly regretting coming over here.
"Do I know you?" he questioned in a tone that sounded like he was annoyed. She didn't blame him either.
"Sorry," he apologized. "I didn't mean for it to sound rude. I wasn't aware that I knew you, so I was confused." he cleared up quickly.
Dess waved it off. "It's fine, that was my mistake. Of course, you wouldn't know me unless you know all two million point three of your followers. Which I highly doubt you do cause that'll be weird as hell." she awkwardly stated.
She felt dumb and embarrassed at the fact that she knew his exact following amount. The silence that came between them was loud because of her.
She cleared her throat and spoke, "Anyway, my name is Dess." she introduced herself.
"Sh-"
"Shai..." she cut him off. "I know that already. I follow you if that wasn't already obvious."
Shai slowly nodded his head, keeping his attention on her. Dess tucked in her lips. Words couldn't even describe how humiliated she felt at the moment. It was interesting to know that talking to a boy was more embarrassing than twerking in front of random folks.
"That's cool and interesting that you know my followers amount." Shai spoke up.
Dess shrugged, "Yeah, well when you've been following a person for four years you tend to pick up things that others don't. Or do. I don't really know how all of this works." she spoke, waving her hands around.
"Five years?" Shai questioned. Dess noticed the small smile that showed up on his face.
"Yup," she popped the p. "I know that may be weird, but it's with great intentions I promise. Nothing weird." she assured him and he nodded his head.
"I'll take your word for it." he gave her a smile showing all his teeth. Dess smiled back, feeling much better than how she felt when she first came over.
"Before you go, you mind if I have your instagram?" he asked, picking his phone up. "I just want to confirm your dates...you know."
Dess chuckled, "Right, of course. It's Desdemona underscore Dess. If you search it you'll see it automatically." she told him. Shai nodded his head, typing on his phone as she waited.
She wasn't in no type of hurry and didn't mind staying around Shai a little longer. You could say she was fan-girling over him and she wouldn't deny it either. Them being face to face was always a dream of hers since she was thirteen. How she stumbled upon his Instagram was a fascinating story. Too young to have the social media app, she went on a following spree. Following celebrities like Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Drake, and more.
She even followed random folks with no posts and private accounts. Under the "suggested for you" option, she found Shai. He had only a couple basketball videos of him up and legends like LeBron James and Steph Curry. It was when she saw the portrait picture of him holding a trophy when she became a fan. She found him cute like a typical teenager girl would. From then on, she liked and commented on every post he shared.
She went unnoticed as always.
Finally finding the account, Shi showed his phone to her for confirmation.
"Yup, that's me." she confirmed with a head nod. "I should really get going, but it's nice to meet you Shai."
"Nice to meet you too Dess." he said back with another smile. It was something about his smile that did it for her.
Before she could make a fool out of herself again, she turned on her heels and walked off. Lucky for her, the crowd had scattered and she didn't have push through people. She easily found Freya near the dj booth talking with two girls.
"Bitch, what took you so long?" Freya questioned once she approached. Dess didn't answer and let her smile speak for itself.
Freya noticed and knew what it was about. "Ooh, girl! Who's the lucky man?"
"None of your business."
"Ooohhh, you sneaky sneaky girl."
