"Hey."

After Vanessa finished crying, she wiped off her tears and called Lucas.

"Hey princess. What'd the doctor say?" Lucas answered.

"Well, the MRI scan came back clear, so from what they can tell, I'm fine." Her throat was a little hoarse after crying, but she tried to conceal it.

"You sure you're okay. You looked pretty shaken up in the hallway."

"Um... yeah, yeah. I'm totally fine." Vanessa said; her voice quavering.

"Sweetheart,"

"No, no." Vanessa interrupted. "Really, I'm fine."

"C'mon Nessa. You know I know you better than that. You're lying to me and you have been for a while now. Tell me the truth, please." She sighed and put her head in her hand while the other one held her phone.

"I'll see you tomorrow at school."

"Nessa, please, I-" Vanessa ended the call and threw her phone onto her bed.

"Why. Why is this happening to me." She whispered to herself.

"So, how did the doctors visit go." Topanga asked Vanessa as the Mathews' and Hunters' sat at the large wood table.

"Um, well they said that nothing was wrong."

"That's good, isn't it?" Cory asked; noticing the heitation in the young girls voice.

"No, yeah. Yeah, it's good." Vanessa tried to convice them.

"Vanessa, I was there. I saw how hurt you looked. Stop trying to say you're fine when you're not." Riley told her.

"Why does everyone think I'm lying! I had a headache, I went to the doctor, and got back negiitive results. End of story."

"Why are you being so deffensive?"

"I'm not. I'm just trying to eat my dinner."

"Vanessa," Cory started.

"God, just stop!" Vanessa interupted while dropping her fork on her plate and shoving her chair backwards. Everybody watched her get up and run out of the room.

"Vanessa, wait!" Shawn got up and ran after her.

"What's going on?" Auggie asked with ignorance.

"I don't know Auggie. I don't know" Toanga said while rubbing the little boys shoulder.

I followed Vanessa all the way to her door, which she slamed in my face. I sighed and tried to think of something to say to her. I'm not the best with words and really don't wan't to make the situation any worse.

"Cupcake," I started. "I know you're upset, but,"

"Just please go away." She interupted. I can tell that she's crying and it broke my heart.

I tried to think of something that would make her feel better. I went to the kitchen and started cooking up some confetti pancakes. 'Panga is so much better at making them than me, but my crappy cooking is going to have to work for now.

I whipped up the pancakes as quick as I could. I threw a large pile of white choclate chips on top. I grabbed a can of rootbeer, her favorite, and went back over to the door and knocked.

"I made some confetti pancakes. I even put extra choclate on top." I heard shuffling and I smiled when the door cracked open.

"Rootbeer too?" she said while wippping her cheeks.

"Of course."

"Fine. Come in." She opened her door and went to go sit criss-cross on her bed. I sat down next to her and handed her the plate of food.

"Thanks." She said with pancake in her mouth.

"You wanna tell me what's going on."

"Dad." She groaned.

"I know, I know. You don't wanna talk about it. But, we're all worried about you." She sighed and looked down.

"Why are you all so worried? I had a migraine and it scared me, so I cried. You guys are smothering me and it's stressing me out! That's what's going on!" She said angerly and looked over to the bathroom. "And that stupid sink is broken!"

"What do you mean angel?"

"The sink keepps dripping!"

"Okay. I can go get my tools and fix it. Would that make you feel bettter, Pumpkin?" She started to calm herself down. "Yes, please." She answered quietly. I rubbed her shoulder and went to go get my tools that I kept in the hall closet.

I came back to find Vanessa already in the bathroom. She was sat down on the toliet with her arms on the sink. She leaned her head on her arms and looked up at me. I sat the toolbox down next to her feet and lowered myself to the floor. I opened up the cabniet door and began to move things out of the way so I could look at the pipe.

"Is the leak coming from here or here?" I asked pointing to the faucet first and then to the pipe.

"On the top dad. Where a normal drip comes from."

"Hey, no need to get sassy." She huffed a little, but nodded.

I looked back down at the pipe. "It looks fine under here it's all dry. There's nothing going on here." I got onto my knees and began to inspect the faucet.

"There's a drip." She said while pointing to it. "It just happpened, dad." I got really confused. Nothing was dripping. The faucet looked completely fine.

"You didn't see that?" She asked, getting frusterated.

"Vanessa, there is not drip." I said worringly.

"There's a drip." I sighed and put my hands on her knees. "Cupcake, look at me. There is no drip. You're upset and you are hearing things. It's okay."

"Yeah, you're right. I've been stressed and this is just my stupid mind making up stuppid tricks to mess with me." I patted her knees and stood up. Then I gave her a kiss on her forhead and left. I went to bed knowing that my little girl is going to be okay.

Lies. They are all lies.
