Essence

"Where are you going?" I heard a voice as I slipped on my shoes. I turned around, seeing all four boys looking at me. Just great.

"Work," I shrugged, turning the knob to go out until a hand shut the door back closed. "What the heck," I huffed, throwing my hands in the air and turning around. I then crossed my arms over my chest. "You can't stop me; I was told to go."

I looked at Easton and the three boys behind him; he looked at me, removing his hand from the door. "Like that?" He says, looking me up and down. The mandatory white button-up I wore was unbuttoned so low that my chest spilled out. Since we were allowed to wear whatever black pant we chose, I put on a mini skirt that I purposely made high-waisted.

"What's the matter with my outfit," I said, shrugging nonchalantly. Easton chuckled, looking back at the three boys with raised brows. They all watched me nervously. "It's your deathbed. Let's go."

"Wait, what?" I now placed my hand on the door, stopping him from opening it.

"We're coming with you; did you think Killian would really let you out alone?" he laughed as if it was a funny thing.

"All of you?" When they nodded, my mouth dropped open.

"We're a package deal in case you haven't noticed."

"You've got to be kidding me," I scoffed, shaking my head. He could have picked anybody else. "Also, Seth, Fraser, and Killian will be meeting us later; they are just setting up for tomorrow."

I knotted my brows. "Who?" I questioned. I didn't remember any of those names besides Killian. "And what's tomorrow?"

"You know the guy you hit with a bat, Seth, and Fraser was here before you; you probably don't remember him, though," Neil spoke up. Damn, well, Seth probably hates me now. "And the auction is tomorrow."

That's happening tomorrow? Fantastic.

I roll my eyes before walking out the door, all of them trailing behind me as usual. Easton comes up behind me, swiftly linking his arm with mine. I try and pull away, which leads to him holding on tighter.

"You're clingy," I mumble.

"We're best friends," he shrugs, as if what I had said meant nothing. I hadn't quite yet decided if I fully forgave any of them, but yet they acted as if nothing happened, making it irrelevant.

I scoff and continue to walk down the stairs to the bar. Since we stayed right upstairs, the journey was all of two minutes; that was the one plus to this 'arrangement.'

The moment I reach the bar, the boys sit on stools at the counter not too far from me. The pressure of their gaze made my face burn and my nerves increase. "Hey, gorgeous," Persephone comes by my side. "Need help?" She chuckles at my lost expression.

Thank god. "My savior," I sigh. "Thank you; I don't know how to do anything." I look at the bottles stacked across the wall in shock. Why were there so many?

"No problem, I was told to show you how to make the drinks," she said. "Take those boys' orders, and we'll do their drinks together; they are one of our most frequent buyers, so we have to make it good." I look over at the familiar four boys watching me and walk over.

All he ever drank was beer. It was the one thing that I was good at doing, buying the beer. It was really the only time I went outside alone. With my own money, I'd buy him a list of things from beer to illicit drugs. The meet-ups with his plugs were as scary as using a fake ID.

"What can I get you?" I put on a facade of happiness when I reach them. With wide grins, they watch me closely. Jacob is the first to speak.

"Two vodka cranberries, one scotch light ice, and a water, thank you. Oh, and just put it on my tab," he said, placing his head into the palm of his hand.

I don't bother saying anything before walking back to Persephone and sharing what they wanted. "Okay, so," she grabs a few bottles, "these are the things for the vodka cranberries, and then these for the scotch. I'm assuming you know how to fill a cup with water?" She jokes, placing four cups in front of me.

Disregarding her joke, I look at the bottles, completely overwhelmed. She laughed at my face and then started putting them together on her own. "Understand?" she finished.

With my face scrunched up, I hummed, causing her to laugh even more. "Just give them the drinks; we still have all night to learn." I walked a few steps to the counter, setting down two drinks and going back to grab the rest. I needed to learn how to use a tray. "Thank you," they all said in unison, eliciting a chuckle from me.

When I reached Persephone again, I looked back to see they've gone to a booth across the room, but of course, they still had me in their sight.

Throughout the night, at least one, if not all of them, had their eyes on me. I tried my best not to pay attention, but it was kind of hard when all I could feel was their burning gaze on me the whole night.

"What is he doing here?" Persephone came up behind me, so suddenly that my arm twitched, and my steady hold on the bottle slipped, causing part of the drink to spill and release a sigh from me. "Shit, sorry," she said, still looking away from me. I was about to mumble "it's fine" before I followed her eyes.

The booth that the boys sat at was now filled, as three more people had joined. I saw, to what I think, his name is Seth, and beside him sat an unfamiliar face. But it seems like I've seen him before; he must be Fraser, I assume. In the middle of everyone, Killian sat headstrong, his legs parted as usual, and his hand resting on his knee. His leaned-back body on the couch watched me hard. He looked pissed.

With every large breath he took, his chest raised in the process, letting me take in what he was wearing. He wore dress pants as usual, with a dark blue button-up, the top buttons were undone, showing off his tatted chest.

"What do you mean doesn't he own this club" I asked her keeping my gaze locked with his.

"Yeah he does but he's never here like at all he shows up maybe once every two months twice if needs to" she said beside me "he's been here quite often though, this is like the third time this week. Weird."

"Yeah weird" I whispered to myself not being able to shake the feeling that I was the reason. We were staying up stairs at his apartment anyways.

"Anyways, could you please see what him and his men want" she nudged me slightly, encouraging me to go over, I rolled my eyes practically dragging my feet across the floor on my way there.

"Psh men" I scoffed under my breathe. More like boys.

As I approached them Killians eyes narrow "Bambina" he acknowledged me through his teeth refusing to unclench his jaw.

"Asshole" I smiled sweetly, Seth and Fraser's eyes went wide, they seemed to be the only shocked ones as they quickly looked at Killian. It was as if they were waiting for him to blow up at me.

He didn't speak.

"Three whiskeys, neat" he said in a husky voice that made me clear my throat, I nodded my head and turned around "continue to stare and a bullet will be in between your eyes before you ever get a chance to blink."

His words made me pull down my skirt slightly

"Three whiskeys neat" I said to Persephone who narrowed her eyes at him. With her hand on her chin and her body bent over the counter she mumbled.

"Yeahβ€”he looks like a scotch neat typa guy"I laughed at her not being able to hold it back.

"Little help please" I said walking to find what they wanted.

"Right" she said standing up and helping me out. "What did you say to him he looks like he wants to rip you apart," she said suddenly concerned.

"Nothing. He always looks pissed, must be a reflex," she bends over to laugh loudly,

"TouchΓ©."

She fixed three drinks before handing them to me on a tray with a little booklet I looked at her confused "their check" she said "pretty sure they're done they never go over a certain amount of drinks. They're probably driving home" she mumbled before leaving me to help somebody new.

I walked slowly struggling to balance their drinks. Don't fall. Don't fall. Don't fall. "Struggling there" I look up from the drinks surprised at how close I actually was to them. Killian raised his brows expecting a response.

"I'm fine" I smiled placing it down on the table. His eyes immediately land on my chest that showed more than ever now that I was leaned over. Before I could get a chance to he grabbed his drink before passing the other once's to the men beside him.

Killian grabbed the check, after looking at it he raised his lower half a little reaching his other hand in his back pocket taking out a leather wallet. The action causing my eyes to reach his waist. God Essence. Head out of the gutter.

He opened it then looked at me I immediately looked away. Dont be a creep Essence. The moment he places the cheque down I grab it along with the trey and head off faster than ever.

"How much did he tip?" Persephone said throwing a rag over her shoulder, I shrugged before opening the booklet.

My eyes widened, a hundred dollar tip. What the hell?! I looked down at it grazing my fingers over it "damn, maybe I should serve them more often" she said over my shoulder I paid no attention to her as I raised my gaze to their booth.

No one was looking at me or even paying attention, I hummed before giving her the money she pushed the cash back at me and took the check "you get the tips" she said walking away I raised my brows, a hundred dollars. It was barely useful to me now that I was stuck in his apartment.

I placed the money in the front of my apron I wore on my waist fixing my skirt in the process. "Hey I'm going to head to the bathroom" I yell at Persephone who just simply nods her head.

The moment I reach the bathroom I sigh looking into the mirror. I wanted to button up my shirt more than ever but purely to annoy Killian I fix the position of my boobs so that they sat up higher. Tightening my apron so my waist looked tighter I chuckle thinking of his reaction.

"Idiot," I mumble under my breath before leaving the bathroom. The moment I step out I clash into a hard chest. "Shit I'm sorry," I say removing the hair from my eyes.

"Language," the moment the word leaves the persons mouth I already know who it is. With a sigh I look up at Killian with a bored expression. His eyes are trained on my body, his pupils were wide covering almost all of the grey that entranced me.

"I have to get to work-" I try to step around him but he simply stops me with his large figure. Humming he starts to walk towards me. I step back with every step he takes as his dark gaze roams all of me. For the first time tonight I felt completely exposed.

"I thought I talked to you about this," he says the moment my back comes in contact with the wall. My heart beats faster when the distance is closed between us.

"About what?" I ask stupidly playing the oblivious girl act. His hand touches right below my skirt which makes my lips part just slightly. Adrenaline spreads throughout my body when his finger trails up my thigh leading the my skirt rising.

"I think you know." His husky voice causes goosebumps to form across my body. "Tell me, did you like all of the eyes in you?" I hated them all. All except yours. When I don't answer he hums, "silent all of sudden?"

"I can wear whatever I want," I shrug all of a sudden which make his eyebrows rise. Now looking at me with amusement Killian bites his lips.

"You really know how to test my patience Bambina," he shakes his head, "but it's running low, and believe me when I say you do not want to be on the receiving end when it finishes." With a voice so low I can't seem to comprehend what he's saying, as my eyes remain trained onto his lips I completely disregard his little threat.

"I could say the same thing," crossing my arms it forcefully made space between us. His eyes dart to my chest suddenly washing away the grey completely out, they fill with lust slowly. "Why does my body even bother you so much?"

"It's not your body that's the problem," suddenly his face fills with distaste, "it everyone's eyes. You don't know what things people could be thinking," he shakes his head with a clenched jaw. People? Or you?

"I know you have a need to control everything that happens but fortunately enough for me, this isn't something you can change," I tilt my head with a smile. "I dress how I want."

He takes a step back nodding his head slowly, with his eyes still trailing my body darkly I shutter in silence. Don't let him see how much he affects you Essence.

"We'll see about that Bambina" is the last thing he says before heading off and leaving me in the empty hallway alone and one step away from my knees giving in.

Fuck me.
