fluff: jenna x pro boxer m!reader

You were a professional boxer, trying to make a name for yourself, but most importantly, trying to earn as much money from the sport as you possible could.

Your mother had a severe illness, and you, nor your 14 year old brother, Drew, had enough money to pay for the treatment.

As a kid, you were always a scrapper, getting into fights at school, fighting your dad, and anyone else who ever got in your way. After high school, you became an amateur boxer, fighting whoever you could find. It never mattered to you, as long as you were getting paid at the end of the day.

After a few amateur fights, you were scouted by a professional boxing organization, WBA. There was a scouter at your match, and he seemed very impressed with your abilities.

Which leads up to tonight, your first professional boxing match. You desperately needed to win this fight. If you won, you would take home double the compensation of the amount that you had agreed to, which was $2,000.

So if you won, you would be walking home with $4,000 for your mother's treatment, and for whatever Drew needed.

You were in the locker room, as you were getting your gloves laced up. You were watching the previous match on the small TV that was displayed on the top corner of the room.

Your coach, Aaron, was beside you as he placed his hand on his shoulder, looking up at you with a serious demeanor.

"Now, remember, Y/n. Antonio Sanchez, he's got a further reach than you, so you need to watch your distance. Also, he's got more muscle, which means he has more power in his punches, so be sure you watch out for any jabs, or right hooks. Especially right hooks, that's his favorite punch to throw." Aaron informed you as you nodded intently.

"Got it. He's a southpaw, right?" You asked, as Aaron nodded.

"Yes. Be sure to focus on your footwork as well. Make sure that your leading foot is over his, that's where you can really fuck him up." Aaron added on, as you continued to nod.

After getting your gloves laced up, it was time to enter the ring. You could feel your heart racing, as you began to feel anxious.

Not necessarily because you thought you weren't good enough, it was more so of how much you needed this money. If you had to, you would fight a thousand guys to save your mom.

As you walked down the ring walk, you saw your brother cheering for you, as he gave you a bright smile. After seeing your brother cheer you on, you could slowly feel your worries fade away.

"...Let's do this."

"LET'S FUCKING GO, Y/N!!" Your coach shouted, as you were now back in the locker room after your fight.

You and your team began to cheer in celebration, after you had won your first pro boxing match. A lot of people bet against you, because your opponent was much taller than you, stronger than you, and had a longer reach.

However to everyone's surprise, you knocked him out cold with a left hook 3rd round.

You kept the icepack up to your bleeding nose, as you continued to cheer with the rest of your team. Unfortunately, you didn't come out completely unscathed.

Antonio had gotten you with a clean right hook, and a strong body shot that left you winded. However, you had a body like steel, and came for the kill even after those devastating blows.

"Guys hold on!!" Your best friend, Taylor, spoke up, earning the attention from you and your team as you all quieted down.

Taylor kept his gaze on his phone, as his eyes completely widened in shock, and his mouth was left agape. His eyes slowly redirected from his phone up to you as his lips curled into an almost psychotic smile.

"Y/N YOU'RE FUCKING TRENDING ON TWITTER!"

He showed you his screen, as your eyes began to widen as well.

"LET'S GOOOOO Y/NNNN!!" Aaron shouted as everyone began to cheer again, including you.

You and your team continued to cheer for a few more minutes, taking pictures, and doing interviews with media outlets before you guys decided to head out and celebrate at a nearby bar.

"This is only the beginning, bro... Soon, we're gonna take over the entire boxing industry." Taylor stated, after chugging down his drink.

You chuckled at his response, as you had an arm around your little brother who was sitting next to you, eating a plate of hot wings.

"I don't know about all that. I'm just in it for the money." You stated, letting out a small chuckle.

"I'm being serious, Y/n! Dude, you just took out a fucking giant! He was twice the size as you, all odds were against you! He was also undefeated, going eleven and zero before this fight!" Taylor argued, as he slapped your back.

"Eleven and one now!" Your little brother, Drew, chimed in, smirking at you.

"Well, maybe it's just beginner's luck." You responded, downplaying your achievement.

"Beginner's luck my ass! I told you, Y/n, from the very day that I scouted you. You have the potential to be the next fuckin' Mayweather if you put in the work." Aaron creeped up, as he sat down at the table with his drink.

"Now, drink up, champ. Like what Drew said, this is only the beginning."

It was now around 2:30 AM, as you were walking around the crowded plaza, making your way through the sea of people. You took Drew back to the hospital where your mother was at, and decided to take a late night stroll around the city.

You looked around and saw people conversing with one another, looking at families enjoying each other's company. Watching as parents were laughing with their kids, playing with them, and being full of joy.

You sighed heavily through your nose as you watched, your eyes slowly becoming dull as you compared their lives to your own.

"I hope that will be me, mom and Drew, one day again..."

As you were stopped in your tracks watching the people around you, you could feel a push to your shoulder as you took a few steps back. You quickly turned your head, as you saw a brunette haired girl, who was much shorter than you with headphones in.

She quickly glanced over at you as she pulled down her headphones, her dark brown eyes stayed onto yours as she gave you a gentle smile.

"Oh, sorry about that." She apologized, removing one aide of the headphones so she could properly hear you.

"No worries, I'm the one standing here like a dumbass." You joked, earning a chuckle from the brunette haired girl.

Her smile was quickly wiped when she took a glance at your tissue-stuffed nose and black eye.

"A-Are you okay..? Did you get into a fight or something..?" She asked, as she began to walk up to you.

You looked at her slightly confused before realizing that she was pointing out your injuries.

"Oh, yeah, I'm good. I'm a professional boxer, I guess. So it's normal for me to get paid to have the crap beat outta me." You reassured her, as she reached up and pulled out the tissue from your nose.

"Sorry, the tissue's soaked in blood, and it was starting to run down your nose." She commented, as she presented you the blood soaked tissue.

You reached your finger up to your nose as you wiped away the trickling blood.

"Oh, shit, sorry... Here, you don't wanna get like, boogers and blood on your hand." You chuckled, grabbing the tissue from the brunette haired girl's smaller hand.

"So you just had a fight tonight?" The curious girl asked, as you nodded in response.

"Yup, I won it too." You confidently stated, smiling at her.

At this point, the brunette haired girl completely took her black headphones off, resting them on the back of her neck.

"Think you could take me in a fight?" She smirked at you, as she began to playfully punch your chest.

You laughed at her actions before stepping back, as she looked up at you.

"Hmm, I don't know. What weight class are you?" You responded, as she began to ponder.

"Light Heavyweight? Maybe featherweight?" You asked, as she looked at you with a stone face.

"Nahh, I think you'd definitely be a heavyweight for sure. You look like you could take on Mike Tyson for sure." You joked, as she continued to give you a stone face before nodding.

"...Yup. I most definitely know what that means." She responded, causing you to snicker in response.

"Oh, my name's Y/n, by the way." You introduced yourself, stuffing your hands in your pockets as you spoke.

"Y/n? Hmm... Oh! You're the one that I saw on Twitter earlier! No wonder you looked so familiar with your face looking like that!" She blurted out, as you tilted your head sideways from her sporadic comment.

"...Uh, thanks?" You awkwardly responded, as she realized what she just said.

"Oh, I mean... I didn't mean it in like a bad way, it's quite the opposite." She stated, before you two began to fall in silence.

"...N-Not like that, y'know, I mean you are like, attractive, but like, I didn't mean it like that, I was just saying- L-like I didn't mean to," The brunette haired girl began to ramble before sighing heavily and shaking her head, as she started reaching her hand out towards you.

"My name's Jenna... Sorry." She finally introduced herself, as you let out a laugh before shaking her hand.

"You're okay, and it's nice to meet you, Jenna." You continued to shake her hand as you smiled at her, as she gave you a warm smile as well.

"So, where are you headed to? You're not celebrating your win or anything?" Jenna curiously asked, as you sighed heavily.

"Oh, we already celebrated a few hours ago. Now, I'm just kinda walking around, clearing my head and stuff." You responded, as Jenna's brown eyes slightly widened.

"Oh, same. I couldn't really sleep so I'm just walking around, listening to some music and what not." She replied, grabbing her headphones.

"Oh, cool. What are the odds?" You chuckled as you nodded at the shorter girl.

"Wanna walk together?" Jenna suggested, as you smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Sure, why not."

After meeting each other and talking for only a few minutes, you and Jenna began to walk down the busy street of Coachella Valley. You grabbed a tissue from your jacket pocket, and stuffed it up your bloodied nose again, as you two continued to walk and converse with one another.

"So, yeah. It's a really big opportunity. I'm really excited for it." Jenna continued on, as you listened intently while walking down the sidewalk.

"Well, I guess you'll have to tell me all about it. I've never really left the state let alone the whole country. Like, Romania? That's insane..." You responded, as Jenna chuckled.

"Well, I will. As long as you give me your number."

You smiled as you pulled out your phone, and opened up a new contact. You handed her your phone as she began to type in her number. She swiftly handed it back to you, as you saw that she already saved it in your phone.

"I'm getting pretty tired, so I'm gonna head home." Jenna stated, as she pointed her thumb in the opposite direction.

"Oh, okay. I'll see you around, I guess." You chuckled, as she nodded in agreement.

"Also, let me know about when you're fighting again. I might just show up to see you lose." Jenna joked, as you rolled your eyes in response.

"Like as if I'd ever lose." You confidently responded, as Jenna smirked up at you.

"Well, give me a ticket to your next fight so I can find out..."

After stating that, Jenna began to walk away, as you watched her make her smooth exit from the conversation.

"...Hmm, she was nice... Pretty cute, as well..."

You were sat in the hospital room, as your mother was watching the television. She glanced over at your beat up face, shaking her head.

"Y/n, I don't like to see you getting hurt like this. I never liked seeing you fight, even if it is professional now..." Your mother stated, as you sighed heavily through your nose.

"Well, this is the only thing I'm good at. And if it puts food on the table, and pays for your treatment, than I don't mind getting beat up a little bit." You responded, as Drew stayed silent.

"...Besides, Mom, I really am good at this. I haven't lost yet, the pay is getting better, and I'm really starting to make a career out of it..!" You tried to convince your mother, as she continued her gaze at the television.

"Y/n, baby, you've always been a fighter. I've known this since your Dad was still around..."

"Don't... Bring him up, Mom..."

"I'm your Mother, Y/n. Do you know how much it hurts to see my baby like this? It hurts more than you think, more than this..." Your mother continued to rant, as she motioned her hands to herself laying in the hospital bed.

"I want you to live your life the way you want to. Not do certain things just because you're good at it..."

"But, Mom... This is the only thing that I know that I can do. This is the only thing that I know how to do right..." You responded, looking at your mother with pleading eyes.

"Please, Mom, I'm still young... I'm only nineteen..!Once you get better, and once I make enough money to live out on my own, I'll stop, okay?" You added, as your mother frowned her eyes at you.

"Y/n..."

"Mom, please. Trust me..."

"...Okay, baby."

It was a couple months since your first fight as a professional boxer, you were now entering your fifth fight tonight. So far, you remained undefeated.

Your opponent, Jason Matt, was also undefeated. The hype around the fight had become evident, as it was trending on Twitter, and had gotten quite a bit of buzz.

You yourself, had also gotten quite a buzz from these last few fights. People in the boxing community had began to admire your skills and precision in the ring. You began to garner somewhat of a cult following, as they all placed their bets on you for this next fight.

At the end of tonight, one of you was going to walk away with a loss, and the other would remain undefeated.

You never really made any of your fights personal with your opponent, however, one comment from Jason Matt during heated argument in a press interview completely set you off.

"That's why your Mom is dying, bitch!"

After that, you were dead seat on ripping his head off tonight.

You didn't know why Jason held so much resentment towards you, as he was the one who started the conflict, but now, your only concern was how many punches it would take to kill him.

As you were walking down to the lockers, Jenna was walking by your side, as she was wearing an oversized black 'Team Y/n' shirt with a long sleeve shirt underneath. The two of you were trailing behind your team as the rest of them were walking ahead of you.

Jenna had just gotten back from her trip to Romania for her job, as she made it back in time for your fight tonight. You and Jenna had became pretty close, even while she was gone.

You both talked about each other's lives, problems, and dreams about what you wanted to achieve in life. Jenna had big dreams, while you only dreamed of having your mother defeating her illness.

Jenna had offered multiple times to help you pay for your mother's treatments, but you declined. You didn't want to leech off of her, and make her think that you were using her.

You told Jenna more about yourself. You loved to sing and draw, which to other people, was quite unusual for a professional boxer.

You occasionally made covers to songs from other pop artists, turning their songs into more of a R&B/Acoustic vibe, and uploaded them to YouTube and TikTok.

You however hid your face in the covers, only recording from the chest down. You actually had garnered a small following on a alternate TikTok account, gaining almost 50K followers.

You told Jenna about the account, as she became mesmerized by your voice, and how you sang. It became as quite a shock from her as well, but showed her that you had a more soft, and gentle side to you.

You both really connected when you found out that she loves Frank Ocean just as much as you did. Both of you talked about what you favorite songs were from him. Your favorite song was 'Pink + White' while hers was 'Ivy'.

After getting to know the brunette haired girl more and more, you finally made a confession to her that you had feelings. Jenna was slightly taken back, but also stated that she had feelings for you as well.

You decided to promise her that when she came back, you'd take her out on a date.

"Make sure to beat his ass." Jenna commented as her, you, and your team continued to walk to the back room to get ready for the fight.

"Oh, I will. Trust me." You angrily responded, as you kept your eyes forward.

"And afterwards, how about you take me out on that date?" Jenna asked, as she looked up at you with a grin.

Your anger quickly turned into fluster as you looked over at her.

"...A date?" You asked, stopping in your tracks.

"Yeah, do you not remember?" She asked, as you quickly nodded at her.

"N-No, of course I do. Sorry, I'm just, kinda in the zone right now. But yes, after I beat his ass, I'll gladly take you out on a date." You responded, giving Jenna a reassuring smile.

It was now time for the fight, as you had already entered the ring. Drew and Jenna were sitting on the ringside, as they continued to cheer you on.

You glanced over at Jason, as he angrily glanced back at you. The crowd was roaring in excitement, as they were finally about to watch the main event.

You began to stretch as the fight was about to begin. The referee had motioned the two of you to enter the center of the ring as he began to state the rules to the two of you.

You kept your glare onto Jason, as you were ready for the fight to start, finally being able to punch his face as many times as you pleased.

"Alright, now touch gloves!" The referee ordered, as you reached your gloves out towards Jason. Jason quickly slapped your gloves away, as he began to make his was back over to his corner.

You didn't let his antics bother you as you made your way back to your corner as you hopped up and down, getting the adrenaline coursing through your body.

The bell had finally rang, as you out your hands up and rushed to the center of the ring.

Jason shifted his way to the ring as he put his hands up to each side of his face. Both of you began to shift back and forth, judging each of your movements to see who would make the first swing.

After becoming impatient, you stepped forward as you threw a quick jab, Jason easily dodging it. You knew that Jason would dodge it, as you only
