Violence up ahead

Daniel!

Tiana yells at the black wolf that has just finished pounding another wolf to death. She limps to get to him and she is thankful that no one is near to take her down. 

This war has taken a toll on not only the pack, but also on so many lives. Hopefully this war goes in the right way with the Blue Moon and Red Blood Pack's victory. 

Daniel is just grateful that the two most important people in his life are safe in the basement, away from all of this chaos. His body is so tired that he just wants to give up and lay down like the many corpses around him, but he has to fight. 

Tiana's reddish and gold wolf trots to him. The smell of iron from blood surrounds them and soon it will smell like death once this war is all over. Tiana's eyes read as worried as she comes to her best friend's mate and she is so scared to tell him who she ran into of all people. 

Daniel: Yeah?

Tiana: April is...

Tiana thinks if she should tell him. Daniel stares at her as she brings up the love of his life's name.

Daniel: What? April is what?

Slight panic fills him. April wouldn't do anything rash, he rejected her so that she could stay safe, away from all of this. His heart pounds hard as he hopes that she didn't do something. 

Tiana: She is out fighting

Tiana's eyes fill with sympathy as she sees the panic run through Daniel's eyes. His heart stops at the words that Tiana just said. The sight of his small mate fighting up against killers terrifies him. He takes two steps back in a daze. 

Daniel: How- When- Where is she?

He looks at the wolf in front of him. He suppresses the fear that is trying to rise in him. 

Tiana: I don't know, I think she is in the woods...

The two stop conversing when a horrifying howl breaks throughout the entire forest. It sounds un-animal-like as it makes the whole forest around them shake. The two have to dig their paws into the soil of the earth to not be blown away by the force.

But as soon as it started it stops. 

Tiana: What the hell was that?!?

Daniel doesn't know the answer to her question as he looks at the forest, the worst place to be in a war is in the woods because your opponent can be anywhere. And by the new information he just learned, April is in there. 

Daniel: I don't know, but I am about to find out.

Daniel starts his way to the woods. 

Tiana: Wait Daniel it's too dangerous, let me come.

Tiana tries to follow, but limps with every step. 

Daniel: No, go alert her father and brothers so that they can know what is going on. 

Is all Daniel says, leaving Tiana to watch as he goes into the dark woods. 

Just in case something happens, at least her father and brothers will know. He runs full speed into the woods, but soon stops when it sound as though a giant tree has fallen. His fear for his mate starts to creep back again. 

 Daniel pushes himself to run harder when he hears a loud cry. He runs beside the Alma river that seems to have the water tides moving faster than usual. He finally makes it to an opening where a cliff is at a dangerous distance close by, but he stops at what he sees. 

Daniel: April!

His beautiful small mate lies on the damaged and destroyed ground in her wolf form. He runs up to her without a second thought. His heart is in his mouth as he realizes that she is unconscious and not dead. 

Daniel: April...

He lays his head onto her stomach, breathing in her scent. Tears rush from his eyes and down his nozzle. He lies his body right next to her, praying that she is alright, praying that she isn't hurt in any way. 

He licks the middle of her head, cleaning off the debris. 

"What happened!" Daniel turns around to see Maximus and Mateo running in their human form, with clothes on,  towards the two. Maximus goes slower as he tries to help a worried Tiana. 

Daniel: I don't know, she was like this when I found her. 

Mateo comes on the other side of April, pressing his hands onto her body to feel if there is any injury, "She isn't hurt," he looks up at Maximus. 

"Well, she probably fell out from whatever that loud noise was from the woods," Maximus suggests looking around, "We should get her out of here and to the clinic," he states and everyone agrees. 

Daniel: What about the war?

"It's over Daniel, we came out victorious," Tiana grins happily, tears sparkle in her eyes as she tells him the news.

Daniel's shoulders fall in relief as he hears this. 

"A good thing too, I was about to give up," Maximus jokes, but no one laughs at his sarcasm. 

"We have to find dad, I haven't seen him," Mateo mutters looking around at the destroyed terrain. 

"I'm sure he will pop up soon, now let's head out," Maximus turns and carries Tiana bridal style back to the pack house.
