"Mia." He whispers. 

The two stare at each other for what feels like a minute. Janice stands up and claps her hands together, which interrupts their staring contest. 

"Yes Mia, I called you here so that you could give our guest a warm and welcomed tour of our grounds," she says to Mia and Mia nods, "But before that, I would like for you to apologize to April." 

Mia's eyes go to me and she looks at me with a fiery look, but I return it back with just as much fire. If she thinks I am some kind of wimp, then she is probably is right, but I won't let her have that impression. 

"Why?" she questions and my eyes widen at her boldness. Janice grins at the girl. 

"Don't be like that, you shot her in the shoulder and I am sure she has no intention of being with your mate," Janice points to Daniel, who is not even looking at anyone. 

"Fine, I am sorry for shooting you in the shoulder," she huffs and I still don't feel satisfied with that, because of the throbbing pain I feel. I turn away from her and cross my arms and Daniel puts an arm around me.

"Well, now that, that is over, you can show them our lovely grounds," she smiles and waves us off to go with Mia. Damien quickly stands up and follows her direction, but since I am feeling salty, I take my time getting up to go over to Mia. I make sure to nurse my injured shoulder as well. 

Mia rolls her eyes and walks out, Daniel slips his hand in mine and shakes his head at me. Damien is on Mia's tail and we follow behind them, but before we even get out the door, Janice says one last thing. 

"I would like to speak with you later Daniel...alone." Daniel does not turn around to look at her, but he does nod and keeps walking, pulling me along.

After walking around the Survivors Pack's grounds for an hour and a half, we finally come upon this little small cabin. 

"This is where you guys will be staying," Mia tells us and Daniel pulls me up the steps of the cabin with Damien following, but Mia pulls him back. "Not you, you come with me," she mutters and turns around and walks off. Damien looks at us with a worried look and Daniel shoos him to go. 

Damien scurries to follow his mate. I looks back into the cabin and see a bed in the middle and run to jump in it. Before I hit the bed, I realize that I am about to land on my injured shoulder and prepare myself for the blistering pain. 

"Please be careful," Daniel catches me before I land and I thank him gratefully. We both lie in the bed and stare at one another. 

"We are finally alone," I say and he nods. He turns away from me and looks up at the ceiling and sighs."Daniel, I am still confused." 

"What are you confused about?" he asks. 

"I-How could she hear my thoughts," she kindly ignored my question when I asked her about it. Daniel turned to me and then looked me over. 

"In the Rogue pack, people had special abilities," he mutters and I cock my head to the side confused, "Some people could do what Janice did, some could tell the future, and others could control nature, that's one of the reasons why the Rogue pack was so powerful for so long," he sighs. 

I comprehend what he is telling me and I cannot believe that there are werewolves that have these abilities. Why don't I have any abilities, I could really use some. I look at Daniel and he has a hand over his face.

"Do you have a special ability?" I ask quietly and he removes his hand from his face. 

"Yes," he says and stays looking at the ceiling. '

"Why have you never told me," I sit up, not expecting his answer. I thought he would have told me something like this. 

"I don't know, it was never important at the time," he mumbles. 

"Never important, of course it would be important, I am your mate!" I raise my voice a little as I stare at his nonchalant form.

"April, we have only been together for about several days, officially," he rolls his eyes and anger boils in me.

"We have been together for a longer period than that," I spat and now he sits up. 

"Are you counting the month that you deliberated over whether you should be with me or not? Because that shit doesn't count," he responds with just as much attitude. 

"Well we shouldn't be hiding secrets," I try to cool myself. 

"Maybe if you would not break promises and run away, then I would not have to keep secrets," he continues. 

"What the heck Daniel, I didn't know if I was willing to love you or not, don't use that against me," my voice strains out. I am on the brink of tears but he looks away from me. 

"What if you had come to the conclusion that you were not willing to be with me," he whispers. I grab his hand and massage his knuckles. 

"Daniel, I didn't come to that conclusion, I am here now with you," I say softly. I come closer to him and straddle his lap. I make him look me in the eyes and press my lips to his. 

"I love you Daniel," I say pulling away. 

"I love you April," he responds.
