alysia's pov

"billie?" i called out, though it only came out as whisper.

billie pulled away from the kiss, turning to look at me, wide-eyed as the other girl smirked at me, then walked through the back entrance. "baby, it's not what it looks like, i promise." she said softly, stepping towards me.

i backed away from her, feeling tears threatening to spill out. "really, billie? because i think it's exactly what it looks like. i-i don't even want to hear it, though."

i turned around as i felt the tears overflow. i pulled out my phone as i started to walk faster.

"alysia, wait, let me explained." billie begged. i heard her footsteps following me.

i turned to face her. "i said i didn't want to hear it. at least respect that, alright?"

i didn't miss the way she stopped in her tracks, her face falling as a tear fell down her face. i tried to ignore it, though, as i started walking even faster than before. i opened my contacts and clicked the first contact in my favorites list.

"please answer." i whispered repeatedly.

on the third ring, i heard the familiar sound of my older brother's voice come through the speaker of my phone. "what's up, alysia?"

"i wanna go home." i whimpered.

"what's wrong? is everything okay, alysia?" he asked, his tone changing to a softer, worried filled one.

"n-no. billie cheated on me and," i stopped talking for a second as i tried to calm down, but to no avail. "i just want to be home. i don't want to be near her right now."

"oh, sissy," he mumbled sadly. "i'm so sorry."

"i need a big brother hug." i sobbed. once i was outside, i leaned against the wall and slid down it, pulling my knees to my chest once i was on the ground.

"did you let her try and explain?" he asked, his voice soft as he spoke slowly.

i didn't respond for a moment, too busy wiping at my tears and trying to steady my breathing. "n-no, i don't want to. she's j-just gonna lie."

"has she ever lied to you?" he asked.

i thought for a moment. "no, i guess not."

"has she ever gave you a reason not to trust her?"

"no." i mumbled.

"i say, hear her out. if you still don't wanna be near her, i'll book you a flight on the next plane here, alright?"

i considered it for a moment before letting out a sad sigh. "okay. i'll text you and let you know how it goes." i sniffled.

"okay, sissy. i love you."

"i love you too."

i slipped my phone into my hoodie pocket, frowning when i realized that it was billie's hoodie that had given me earlier. i let out a breath of air that i didn't know i was holding, then wiped at my tears once again.

just as i was about to stand up, the door that i was sitting by slung open and i looked over to see billie standing there, her hand still on the door as she looked around. her eyes finally met mine and i felt my heartbreak even more as i saw fresh tears on her cheeks, her face blotchy from crying.

"i thought you left," she whispered, her hand dropping from the door as she stepped forward, that same hand reaching up to wipe at her eyes with the back of her wrist. "i know you said you didn't want to hear it, but just... please listen and let me explain." she pleaded, the desperation clear in her voice.

i averted my gaze from her to the concrete of the sidewalk as i said "go on. i'm listening."

"i didn't cheat on you. i swear i would never do that to you or anyone ever in a million years. i know how much it absolutely fucks with your head and i never want anyone to have to go through that mind fuck."

i didn't know that she's been cheated on.

"i don't even know who that girl is, alysia. i was just waiting for you and she came over and just... kissed me. i-i'll get the tapes pulled if you want me to, i swear." she stuttered.

i looked up at her for the first time since she had started explaining everything. "why didn't you push her off of you?" i asked quietly.

"she had just kissed me when you came around the corner. i-i promise. you've got to believe me, alysia. i love you so much. i swear that i'd never do anything to hurt you. d-do you want me to pull the t-tapes?" she asked, getting choked up at the end.

i stayed silent, dropping my gaze to the concrete once again. after a few minutes passed by, i whispered a small "i believe you" so quietly that i almost thought that she didn't hear it.

"you do?" she asked quickly.

"yeah." i confirmed, looking back at her. i patted the space on the sidewalk beside me and waited until she sat down. "i guess that i should've known that it wasn't your fault as soon as it happened. i mean, you literally told me to come there to meet you, so it would've been dumb on your part if you were actually cheating." i laughed humorlessly.

"again, i swear on my mom's fucking life that i would never cheat on you."

"i know." i assured.

it was silent for a while as we just sat there, looking at the nearly empty parking lot.

after a bit, billie found my hand, and brought it up to her lips. "i love you. so so so fucking much, alysia eidith durden."

"i love you so so so fucking much, billie eilish pirate baird o'connell."

i smiled when i heard her laugh her beautiful laugh that i'd fallen in love with, along with everything else about her. "fuck, i love you, you fucking goof."

i leaned my head on her shoulder. "ditto."

the door that we were sitting next to flew open and we both looked to see finneas standing there. his eyes landed on us. "there you two ar- woah, are you two okay?"

knowing that he was referring to our blotchy, tear stained faces, i responded with "it's a long story, but yeah, we're okay, finny."

"perfect actually." billie added.

he gave us a weird look before shaking it off. "okay, well we've got to go get on the tour bus, like now."

"alright, we'll be there in a minute." billie said, shooing him off.

"hurry, then." and with that, he left.

billie stood first and pulled me up by my hand. she interlaced our fingers and led us to the tour bus, my head resting on her shoulder as she did. "you know, if none of this bullshit happened, then we would've just been getting back from stargazing."

"really?"

"yeah. i know you really like the stars, so i wanted to take out and have a cute little picnic while we stargazed." she explained.

i pouted. "you're so perfect," i placed a kiss to her shoulder. "i love you."

"i love you too, baby."

"if i'm being honest, i really just wanna be cuddled for a hot minute." i mumbled.

"your wish is my command." billie smiled, letting me onto the tour bus first.
