alysia's pov

"tyler's in the hospital."

"w-what do you mean? how? what happened?" i questioned quickly. i tightened my grip on my phone, trying not to drop it from how much i was shaking.

"he got into a wreck. i-i don't know how badly he's injured, though. i'm on my way to the hospital right now."

my phone slipped out of my hand, landing on the ground with a loud thud. with the way it landed, i'm sure it cracked. i tried to breath, but i couldn't. my chest felt tight.

i leaned against the wall, slowly falling to the floor. my hand clutched at the top of my shirt, tears flowing down my cheeks as i still struggled to breath.

i heard the door open. "baby? you good?" my eyes flickered over to billie as she came around the corner.

her eyes widened as she rushed over to me, kneeling beside me. "what happened, angel?"

"i can't- i can't breathe." i managed to get out.

she grabbed one of my hands and placed it on her chest. "copy my breathing, alright?"

she took a deep breath, held it for a few seconds, then exhaled. she continued to repeat this as i tried to copy it. it took a bit, but eventually, i was breathing properly.

billie's hands moved up to cup my face gently, her thumbs wiping away my tears. "what's wrong?"

"it's tyler. he's in the hospital."

i leaned my head on her shoulder. "i can't lose him, billie." i whispered.

she didn't say anything as she wrapped her arms around me. she pressed a kiss to my head. "listen, everything's gonna be alright, okay? i'll go get finneas to book us a plane ride back and we'll head to the hospital as soon as we land."

she stood up and held her hand out to me. i took it and she interlaced our fingers after she helped me up. "everything is going to fine, baby." she reassured.

i nodded, though i hardly believed her.

we walked back to our table and billie started explaining everything to finneas and claudia, but i wasn't paying attention to exactly what she was saying. i couldn't really hear anything that anybody was saying.

"alysia? angel?" billie said worriedly, waving her hand in front of my face. i raised my eyebrows, signaling for her to continue. "finneas is booking us a flight. i called an uber and it'll take us to the airport. fin and claudia will get all of our stuff from the hotel and bring it tomorrow, okay?" i nodded.

"how fast will we be there?" i asked.

"four and a half hours at the max." she checked her phone, then slipped it back into her pocket. "the uber is here. come on, mama."

again, i nodded, and followed her out of the restaurant. the ride to the airport and getting on the plane was all a blur. i couldn't stop thinking about all the possibilities of what could of happened, most of which was not good.

i can't lose him.
