i quickly clicked the call button and she answered before the first ring finished. "hey, pretty girl."

hearing her voice immediately brought a small smile to my face. "hi."

"are you okay?" she asked sweetly.

"not really." i sighed, wrapping my blanket tightly around myself.

"do you want to talk about it?"

"i mean, i don't know. i just woke up and was crying. that hasn't happened in like... two or three years." i explained, wiping at my tears and sniffling a little.

"well do know the reason why you woke up crying back then?"

"yes, but it's definitely not for that reason." i frowned, thinking back to that time.

she was silent for a moment. "i don't know, baby. maybe you just had a bad dream or something that you can't remember."

i sighed. "probably."

"i'm giving you the fattest fucking hug in ten days."

i laughed. "bet."

"big bet." she confirmed.

"so why are up at two am?" i asked after a moment of silence.

"i was watching the office and lost track of time." she sighed.

"you best be ready to start over. remember, we're watching it together." i reminded her.

"oh, trust me, i'll have it finished again in ten days." she laughed.

"i don't doubt it." i laughed along with her. "are you ready to watch friends?"

"yessir."

it was silent again as i laid there, snuggled into my blanket.

"hey, bil?"

"yeah?"

"thank you." i mumbled.

"for what, baby?" she asked.

"for just being here for me. it means a lot, really."

"anything for you, princess."
