I grab mouthwash from the shelf and rinse my mouth then grab the pain killers from underneath the mirror.

Nobody has seen them yet because they respect my privacy here, which I'm so lucky to have and so grateful for.

Also I don't think they've noticed the pain I'm in from my ribs. It seems like it's getting a little better which means they are healing but I just have to keep it hidden until it's gone.

Easier said than done!

I quickly pop two pills in my mouth and swallow it with some sink water. After I finish swallowing them I wash my face with cold water so my tiredness goes down the drain. I grab my slippers by the toilet and slip them on before heading to the kitchen.

I reach up and grab a cup off the counter that says "too good to be true."

Sounds like something Oliver would have.

I pour some coffee that looks like it's been there since yesterday morning but I don't mind. I'm just glad I'm getting something.

And I hope they don't mind too. I'm not one to touch stuff without asking. If I was back home I'd be punished for it. But I guess I've just been getting comfortable here...

I start making breakfast since it looks like everyone is still sleeping. Today I woke up really early around 4 am. I couldn't sleep from the reminders of yesterday.

That guys face is in my dreams and I don't want to see it so I stood awake reading a book I found.

I decided on some scrambled eggs with tofu. And don't say tofu is disgusting. It tastes soooo good, especially with tortillas.

I finish cooking up the breakfast when I hear footsteps coming from the hallway that are getting closer. I quickly finish putting the food on the plates before I turn around to meet my grumpy and very tired brother, Leo.

"Good morning!" I say while smiling at him but he doesn't look like he is in the mood.

"Good morning." He replies lifting his head a little to look behind me. I can see a little smile tug up from his lips as he spots the food on the plates.

"What's that for?" He points to the food.

"Oh that! I just thought I would make you guys breakfast. It's the least I could do for letting me stay here."

His smile drops down for some reason but he shakes it off. I wonder if I said anything wrong...

He walks over and grabs a plate then sits down at the table. "Thank you." He muttered before eating.

I then hear multiple footsteps coming this way and it sounds like everybody has awoken.

The rest of my brothers come marching into the kitchen but freezing when they see Leo and I.

"Now look at who we have here! Good morning familia." Oliver shouts for the whole room to hear. I wave at him and he smiles. He turns to Leo expecting the same reaction but we all know how that went.

He just kept eating.

Oliver huffed but walked over to me and picked up a plate.

"Did you make this?" He asks me while stuffing his face with eggs.

"I did, it was nothing really.." I quietly say looking down to my feet. I'm not good at keeping eye contact, plus it's awkward and weird.

"No it's everything. Thank you." He replies while patting me on the head for no reason.

The other two grab a plate and sit down too, starting to munch on the food.

Finally I grab one and sit between Liam and James. The two most intimidating people here!

lucky me.

It's Saturday so nobody has to go anywhere today. I'm wondering what I'm going to do.

"So Kim, since I haven't had a chance to speak to you about the rules, I'm just going to explain them now for you. Everybody else knows them as well." He nods my way to make sure I'm paying attention. I return it.

"Okay, rule number 1, no swearing or cussing of any kind. I do not tolerate that kind of behavior while you guys are living in my household. Ask your brothers, they know." I turn to look at Liam and he just looks down at me and slightly shrugs.

Awesome.

I quickly turn back to James and stay quiet. I'm not one to cuss or swear a lot but you know, I'm 13, every teen swears every once in a while. It's basically our nature, you can't blame us. But I'll try not to do it in front of them.

Maybe just silently say "shit" in my head.

"Rule number 2, no Boys. As in NO boyfriends. No exceptions, don't ever ask me for one as I will say no. Don't ask your brothers for one as they will say no too. I don't want to see you with one. Is that understood?"

I quickly nod my head. These rules are little crazy but I understand I guess. I wonder if I can have friends that are boys. I mean, I'm not exactly dating them!

"Rule number 3, be respectful and when your brothers tell you to do something, do it. Unless it is incredibly idiotic." He pauses and looks Leo's way. Leo looks up, eggs all over his mouth and rolls his eyes. James eyes flick back towards mine. "Don't disrespect one another, we are family and we need to act like it."

"Rule number 4, keep up your grades in school and no failing or skipping classes. I've seen your grades in your past school and they were well. I expect you to keep the same grades. I also do not want to see or hear anything about skipping classes or failing."

"Rule number 5, last one, is if you plan to go anywhere at all, make sure to let one of your brothers know or ask. I don't want to hear about you leaving somewhere without us knowing, understood?"

"Also I want verbal answers when I'm talking to you. Sometimes I understand if you can't but I expect it most of the time."

I clear my throat. "Understood."

"Great. Other than that, I hope you love it here with us as much as we love you here."

Liam made a growling sound before pushing up from his chair and leaving the room. He looked angry. Does he not like me?

I'll try and keep away from him more.

Leo just froze but then continued eating. Does he have an obsession with food or something?

I bite some of my food down but not all. James seems to notice this and speaks up. "Please finish your food Kim. I've been noticing you haven't been eating all of your food recently. It's good for you."

I bite my lip and fiddle around my food with my fork and try to force another bite. I swallow the last bite down and pick up my plate to wash.

"Thank you Kimberly." James states.

I shove the plate under the water and start rinsing it. As much as I understand why the rules are there, I can't help to think most of them are unnecessary...

I walk out of the kitchen and down the hallway stopping by one of the pictures I see on the wall.

It looks like my brothers when they were younger and some man Is standing near them. I can also see my mom in the photo?! Since when was she here? When did she have time to have a family photo.

She never had time for me.

I take the photo off the wall and study it harder. My eyes spotting a strange man...

This man looks like the man my mom described to me as my father! He has brown hair, dark eyebrows, sharp jawline, yada yada.

Maybe I could ask one of my brothers about him? They wouldn't mind, right?

"I see you have questions about that photo" A voice says behind me. My heart feels like it has left my soul as I turn around and spit Liam standing there, emotionless as always.

"Er, yes I do actually." I mumble, looking back down at the frame.

"Who is this?" I ask pointing to the man my mom described.

And my confirmations were true.

"It's father."
