Y/n Pov.

It's been a week since Nick came home and I've been twenty times more miserable than I was previously. I rolled my eyes hearing him and my father talk about sports...again for the hundredth time today.

Jennifer: "Speaking of sports, Y/n, your coach called me today, why didn't you tell me you were the captain of the Basketball team for the second year in a row?" I stopped chewing my food.

Mark: "Captain?" He looked at me.

Nick: "Wow, standards must've dropped this year." I coughed and shook my head.

Y/n: "It's not that big of a deal. Coach just likes the way I lead the team and stuff so he made me captain again. The guys also wanted me to lead the team this year. Brandon is vice-captain," I shrugged my shoulders.

Mark: "I didn't know you were the captain last year," He said dumbfounded.

Y/n: "Yeah, well I tried telling you that many times but you never listened so I gave up. Mom knew about it..." I explained looking at her, "I forgot to tell you, sorry about that. It was only decided yesterday for sure." She nodded.

Jennifer: "It's okay. I'm proud of you sweetheart," She smiled sending me a wink. I smiled and went back to eating and ignored the stares from Nick and Mark.

Mark: "When is your first game?" I stopped chewing once again and swallowed.

Y/n: "In a week," I answered confused as to why he was asking.

Mark: "Okay, you should tell me a date in advance so I can take the day off." He smiled. 

"What?" Both Nick and I said stunned.

Nick: "I'm sure it isn't that big of a game anyways." I looked at him and tilted my head to the side.

Y/n: "You know, I'm surprised you're still playing football." He glared at me.

Nick: "And why is that?" He challenged.

Y/n: "Don't they kick you off the team or something if your grades suck," I said making his face fall. I picked up a blue and white envelope along with a red one and slide it towards him. "You had some mail come in," I smirked enjoying the blank look he had on his face.

Yeah, fuck you, brother.

Jennifer: "Report cards?" She asked taking mine whilst Mark took Nick's.

Y/n: "Looks like it," I took my plate to the sink and watched them examine both report cards. I leaned against the counter and crossed my arms waiting to hear something from them.

Jennifer: "Y/n, good job baby, it looks like you picked up your grades for math." I shrugged.

Y/n: "Thank Maddie for that one. I would have been lost without her." She handed the report card to Mark who closed his eyes and sighed.

Mark: "Good job, Y/n." I almost choked hearing what he said.

No yelling.

No telling me I could work for that 100%.

What the hell is wrong with him?

Y/n: "Uhmm thank you?" I said confused.

Mark: "You know, you could take some notes from your sister," I widened my eyes and looked at Nick who seemed pissed. "You're failing all of your classes! We sent you to New York to make something of yourself, not to just play ball and have meaningless relationships!" I stood like a fish out of water hearing Mark talk to Nick like that.

He never talked to him like that.

Or maybe he did, but when I wasn't around.

Nick: "Dad, it's just that practice has been busting my ass and I couldn't-"

Mark: "We offered to help you and get you a tutor! You said you had it under control, Nickolas!" I flinched at the use of Nick's full name knowing he was for sure pissed.

Jennifer: "Okay, everyone calm down," She said standing up from her seat. "He did bad and there is nothing we can do at this stage. We can call the school and see what can be done. If your grades don't pick up Nick, you're not playing football." She said sternly.

Nick: "What?!" He shouted pushing his chair back as he stood up.

Mark: "Don't raise your voice!" He stood up. "It's what your mother said. You're lucky she stepped in before I did." He shook his head.

Y/n: "I'm just going to go to my room and get ready, Brandon is coming to pick me up." They both nodded.

Nick: "So what? Y/n is suddenly your perfect child." He scoffed making me ignore him and walk up the stairs.

Mark: "At least she isn't failing her classes. Sit down, we need to talk." I smirked feeling a little better and entered my room.

Bella still hasn't been over to babysit because my mom told her to have some time off and take care of her mom who was getting better by the day. I went to my room and closed my blinds, still seeing some moving trucks in front of the house opposite ours. 

Fun fact, Hailey was moving directly opposite us which meant I would be seeing the girls more often than I hoped for. I sighed and closed the blinds, getting ready. I grabbed my Nike hoodie along with my phone and wallet, going downstairs.

Nick: "Hey! I need to talk to you." I rolled my eyes and saw Brandon pull up.

Y/n: "We can talk when I get back or when I want to!" I shouted over my shoulder. I grabbed my keys and opened the door, closing it to see everyone piled up in Bryce's car.

Maddy: "I hope you brought your car keys," I laughed and unlocked my car seeing them sigh in relief. 

Nick: "I said we need to talk!" He shouted, much louder than the last time. 

I looked up and saw Brandon give me a look. I shook my head moved my seat so Charly and them could get in the back. 

Nick: "Y/n!" I looked across the street and saw Bella and her friends all looking at us, curious as to what all the shouting was about.

Y/n: "What the hell do you want to talk about Nick? It's Saturday night and I have plans with my friends." I turned around and saw his fist clenched.

Nick: "You just had to give mom and dad the report card, didn't you?" I huffed.

Y/n: "Is this what it's about? You've got to be fucking kidding me. They would have seen it sooner or later, I'm sorry your grades suck but that doesn't give you the right to ruin my night with one of your tantrums." I said as calmly as I could.

Nick: "You have a lot of nerve." He walked up to me, us coming face to face since we were the same height.

Y/n: "And you need to learn to grow a pair of balls and stop blaming everyone else for your downfalls, Nickolas." I saw his eyes darken at my words.

Nick: "You better watch yourself!" He growled pushing me back.

Y/n: "Or what? You're going to run to dad and complain." I mocked making him lunge at me.

I landed back on the grass with my head hitting the ground. He punched me square in the jaw making people scream and try to get him off me. I blocked his next hit and punched him right in his nose, he stumbled off me and held his nose.

Mark: "Hey! Hey!" He grabbed Nick and pushed him back. "What the hell is going on here?!" He shouted making everyone stay silent.

Nick: "Y/n started it!" I held my jaw and glared at him.

Y/n: "You're fucking joking right! He started it and lunged himself at me and there are over five witnesses to this!" I looked at my father who sighed and shook his head.

Mark: "Kids..." He looked at them, "Who started this?" He asked making me hold my jaw and move it around. I heard footsteps and saw Bella and the others coming over.

Bella: "Hey..." She mumbled taking my face in her hands. "Where did you get hit?" She asked, I pointed to my jaw.

Brandon: "Sir, Nick came out and started talking to Y/n about some report or whatever and because Y/n didn't want to talk about it, he lunged at her." I eyed Bella as she examined my face and listened to the conversation my father was having.

Mark: "Nick, get in the house!" Nick scoffed and shook his head.

Nick: "This is all a fucking joke." He took out his keys from his pocket and got in his car, driving away. 

Bella: "You need to put ice on that," She mumbled, I nodded and looked away from her. 

Mark: "Come here..." I walked up to him and saw him examine my face as well, making sure there were no cuts. "It's going to bruise so you need to put ice on it." I nodded not knowing what to say, "You can still go out with your friends, you need it." He patted my shoulders and walked back inside the house.

Kendall: "What the hell was that?" She asked looking at us.

Y/n: "That was my dick head of a brother, you can see that we don't get along." I groaned and held my jaw.

Charly: "Okay, it looks like we're not going out tonight." She huffed and shut my car door.

Kaia: "It's okay, let's get some ice on that jaw and we can just chill with each other." She offered and I agreed.

Hailey: "Y'all enjoy that," She said getting ready to walk back with the girls.

Jackson: "You can join, you know," They all smiled.

Kylie: "We have to help Hailey move in more things but we will try to come after." We all nodded. I moved my eyes towards Bella and saw her frown at me.

Gigi: "Bye kids!" She joked walking away with the others. I looked at Bella and sighed feeling my insides turn in an uncomfortable manner. 

Brandon: "Let's get ice on this," He swung his arm around my shoulder and walked inside the house with me.

I walked up to my room with the others whilst Brandon went to get me an ice pack. Maddy walked into the bathroom and came out with some painkillers and Jackson tossed her water which she gave to me.

Y/n: "You know y'all can go out, I'll stay back and get some rest," I said taking the painkiller.

Charly: "And let you mope around all by yourself? I think not," She got on the bed and cuddled me in a comforting manner.

Maddy: "Exactly. Let's put some Netflix on and hang out with each other." She got on my other side and took the ice pack from Brandon, putting it on my face.

Kaia: "Kissing Booth 2 came out today, let's watch it." We all agreed to watch it.  Everyone made themselves comfortable in my room. 

They all brought pillows and blankets from my closet and set them up since they wanted to stay over. I looked around and saw my entire room surrounded by blankets and pillows. I laughed to myself and settle back on the bed. 

The movie was pretty good so far and it was nearing the end when I felt someone tap my hand. I looked over and saw Charly knocked out cold with her head resting on my chest. I smiled and looked over at Maddy who looked like she wanted to talk.

Y/n: "Oh no, I know that look," I mumbled just for her to hear.

Maddy: "What's up with you and Bella?" She asked eyeing me suspiciously.

Y/n: "What do you think?" I mumbled looking at her.

Maddy: "I think something happened between the two of you and she probably stopped it," She said hitting it right on the nail. "And the two of you probably like each other a lot but are too dumb to realize it..." She looked at me, "Oh, her boyfriend must be playing a huge contribution to all the longing stares the two of you give each other when you see each other as well." I pursed my lips together.

Y/n: "I sometimes wonder how you know all of this," She laughed and shook her head.

Maddy: "That's because I pay attention." She sang looking at me, "But seriously, what happened?" She asked.

Y/n: "I was in my room doing homework and she decided to join me so one thing leads to another, God only knows how doing homework led to us making out." I shook my head, "And she just freaked out when she heard my mom come home." Maddy hummed.

Maddy: "And what happened after?" She asked.

Y/n: "Well, she was talking to mom and then left her when she saw me come down. I ran after her and tried to get her to talk about what happened but she didn't want to and she said it was a mistake so I got upset and said some things and left." I shrugged.

Maddy: "Maybe she was just overwhelmed? I mean from what I gathered, she sounds like she's confused." I rolled my eyes knowing she was right.

Even Brandon said the same thing...after he said it was fucked up.

Y/n: "I get that part, but fuck, can't I get a break or something?" I asked feeling like everything was just ending up in the shit house for me. 

Maddy: "I know you feel insecure and upset Y/n/n, but also imagine how she feels. She wants you, I mean she wouldn't have kissed you if she didn't want to but maybe she doesn't know how to let go of her boyfriend. Some people are in toxic relationships and just can't get out of it, even when they want to." She sent me a comforting smile.

Y/n: "Yeah, maybe you're right." She scoffed.

Maddy: "I'm always right," I chuckled and shook my head. The movie ended making everyone go and change into some clothes that they have here. I moved Charly hearing her groan.

Charly: "No, I'm not going home," I laughed and woke up from the bed.

Y/n: "Char, you need to change, and then you can come back to sleep." She opened her eyes slowly and held her arms open.

Charly: "Carry me," I rolled my eyes playfully and carried her to the closet where the girls were changing.

Y/n: "Can I come in?" I asked hearing them mumble a few 'yeah'.

Kaia: "Looks like someone is lazy," I placed Charly on the small counter that was in the middle.

Y/n: "She is, come on, get changed then you can sleep." She hummed and looked at Kaia who helped her change.

I walked back to my room and lay on the bed seeing the boys come into the room all changed up. We talked for a little and saw the girls come into the room making us all get comfortable. Charly moved next to me and rested her head on my chest, and wrapped her arm around me, falling asleep almost instantly.

Brandon: "Well, goodnight then." I shook my head.

Y/n: "Night guys," I turned the lamp off and saw Maddie get in the bed and sigh making herself comfortable.

Maddy: "It'll get better Y/n/n, just give it time." I hummed.

Y/n: "I hope you're right," I mumbled before closing my eyes.

I woke up the next morning and groaned pulling whoever was closer to me. I tried falling asleep again and opened my eyes to see a pillow there instead of a person and frowned looking around the room to see it empty.

Y/n: "What the hell? Since when are they awake before me?" I mumbled rubbing my eyes. 

I woke up and did my morning routine, running my hands through my messy hair as I walked downstairs. I heard some talking from the kitchen and rubbed my eyes again walking into it. I looked up and saw Bella standing there with her friends and mine.

Y/n: "Uh morning?" I said looking at them confused.

Charly: "Morning sleepy, you were dead as fuck. We tried waking you up at least ten times." I chuckled.

Y/n: "At least," I looked around. "What's up?" I asked moving my eyes to the brunette who managed to take my breathe away, almost all the time.

Bella: "Your parents had to do some damage control for your brother so I'm here to spend the day with you." She smiled.

Y/n: "You mean babysit," I said coming off a bit harsh which didn't go unnoticed.

Bella: "We both know I don't do things most babysitters would do."
