"Where do you think they would be?" I ask leaning onto a tree as Cato scans our surroundings, he turns to me.

"Either at the Cornucopia or maybe hiding in caves or trees." I nod and run my hands through my hair, only two more people left to kill before we could get out of this hell hole.

"So whats it like back in District 2?" He leans against another tree and looks to me.

"Well its pretty luxurious, i lived in a huge house with a beautiful garden. We even had our own cooks, but it was pretty lonely. I was the only child and all i did was train, and i never made many friends besides Clove; i always knew something was off with her. My family only cared about me winning the Games and bringing back even more riches, so that was my life back in 2." I felt bad for Cato, his parents didn't care for him, that's why he was so ignorant to everyone.

"Why don't you tell me about yours?" He said i look up to him, i didn't want to share my sob story with the whole country watching. I sit up and smile.

"Lets just say District 3 is pure hell for me, my family wasn't rich so we lived on the poor side. I have three siblings, Chris who i volunteered for; Jima and Milo. They were all i really cared about, they were what was keeping me alive." I pause clinching my fists, then start again. "I was beaten by my father almost everyday, it was either me or my siblings. I sold plants to people around the District just to get food for my sisters and brother, i couldn't take it anymore, i wanted to die, so i decided to volunteer. But my friend Maggie told me i shouldn't but if i did at least try to win. When Reaping day came i was pondering if i should actually do it, that's when Chris' name was called and i knew what had to do. So that's my life back there." My eyes trail down to my hands, i was pathetic.

I almost jump when someones hands were placed on top of mine, i look into Cato's blue eyes.

"Listen, you're probably the bravest person I've ever met, when i saw your Reaping i knew you were going to be a strong competitor. The way you didn't even hesitate made me fall for you, i never knew i could care for someone so much. I never knew i could love someone so much." His words made my mouth fall open, my heart dropped to my stomach.

He loved me.

I grab his face and kiss his lips, he responds quickly. Butterflies filled my stomach, no one ever made me feel this way and I'm glad it was him.

I pull away and just stare into his eyes, before speaking.

"I love you too."
