I hide my body behind a tree as i glance around, the Cornucopia was very close. "What are you doing?" Wyatt asks.

My eyes land on the tree less field where the Cornucopia lay, Cato and the Careers stood around a big pile of supplies. "Hello?" He says lo, clearly annoyed.

"We can't just walk out, they might attack us if they don't get a good look of our faces."

"Why can't we just separate? I think it would be the best idea, we can't trust them." I turn to him an shake my head.

"We won't stand a chance against Thresh from Eleven." I lied about the reason, Wyatt looks away. "Well i think now is the best time." The Careers looked busy drinking water, i pull Wyatt's wrist and drag him to the Cornucopia.

We slowly make our way over, i grip my spear loosely so i won't look tense. The first person to notice us was Clove, she stood up from her spot; knifes ready. I raise my hands up as she gets a look of my face, her scowl disappears.

"Cato! Its Becca!" He spins around, he stands there for a split second. I couldn't read his face, he didn't look angry or anything. Next thing i knew his arms were wrapped around my body, he was hugging me.

He pulls away and looks into my eyes, then to my lips. I look away, signaling that i didn't want to be kissed; at least not in front of Wyatt. He was like a little brother, i knew he wouldn't approve.

"Here you guys need to eat something." Marvel hands us dried fruit and some type of meat, i shove the food down my throat.

I get a glance around after i finish eating, it was only Marvel, Cato, Clove and us. Glimmer was dead, was Peeta too?

"What happened to Peeta?" I ask as the sun starts to set, Marvel was the first to talk.

"He ran off with his girlfriend, Katniss." He said and Cato finished.

"We were just using him to get to Katniss, she got the highest score." I nod, leaning back onto a rolled up sleeping bag.

Wyatt had already gone to sleep and so had Clove, Marvel and Cato soon got ready for bed.

"Who's going to keep watch?" Marvel asked, i sat up and sighed.

"I can do it, doesn't look like I'll get any sleep anyway." I stand from my spot and walk over by the pill of supplies, i sit and watch the stars.

The capitol anthem goes off and faces of people appear on the sky, i look away not wanting to know. My eyes lock on my wrists, red lines. That's what i was used to seeing, i didn't pity myself. I deserved it completely, every single scar i deserved.Β

"Hey."

I jumpΒ  and look up, i roll my eyes at the sight of Cato. He must watch me or something.

"Hi,"

"Sorry if i scared you." He sits by me, placing a hand on my arm.

"Your scars are beautiful, just like you." My face eats up at his words, why does he make me feel this way?

"Cato," I turn to him, he tilts his head in confusion. "why do you like me? There's many other rich girls in your District, like Clove. I don't want your pity so don't feel sad for me." (Paramore moment.)

He grabs my face and places his lips on mine, my heart stops but i respond. His lips were so soft, i have no clue why i was falling for him. We are going to have to kill each other. But i don't care, not at the moment.

His hand trails up my back causing a soft moan to escape my lips. He smiles through the kiss then runs a had through my hair, he was in fact an amazing kisser. It felt as if sparks were on my lips, and i loved it. I knew cameras were on us, i also knew Emery was having a fit right now. I pull away from Cato looking into his blue eyes, it was such a shame how we could never be together.

"Okay, Wyatt you keep watch of the Cornucopia while we're gone." Cato says strapping a belt of knifes to his waist.

"Can Becca stay with me for extra protection?" The blond and the brunette look to me, i shrug.

"I'll stay with him." A smile washes over his face, Cato nods towards me and starts to walk away; the Careers close behind.

I slump down onto ground, a sigh escapes my lips. My eyes glanceΒ around for Wyatt, he was messing aroundΒ with the Tribute pedestal. I stand up and walk over to him.

"What are you doing?" I ask as he rips wires from the ground.

"I'm setting up a landmine." I furrow my eyebrows, he didn't have the right stuff for a bomb. He noticed my confusion. "If any Tributes step off their pedestal early a bomb will go off killing them, so I'm going to set up the existing landmine around the Cornucopia."

A smile spreads over my face. "Where did you learn this?"

"My father taught me a lot about these kinda of things." He says and i look down.

"What about your father?" I shrug, what could i tell him?

"Let's just say hes not a good man, that's why i have to make it home. My siblings they aren't safe." I choke out, digging my nails into my palms.

Wyatt looks to me, he gives me a reassuring smile. "You're going to make it back. I know it."

And he lied, i know i won't be going home. It's just a matter of time.

Wyatt and me sat under the shelter we made eating dried fruit. He had finished the landmine hours ago, the Careers still were not back. The wind felt nice on my skin, i couldn't help but wonder where Cato was. Images replayed in my mind as i touched my neck, i shook those thoughts away when the younger boy tapped my shoulder.

"Do you want some water or what?" He spat clearly annoyed since i didn't respond the first time.

"Yeah, sure." He stands, walking over to the pile of supplies. I hear something, i cock my head to the side and look into the woods. An arrow shoots forward towards the pile, just as i get a look of who it is. Katniss.

She shoots another as i stand up grabbing my spear, apples fall and land on the ground. That's when it happened.

I was thrown back by the explosion, my head hitting something sharp. A scream escaped my lips as pain consumed my body, my skin felt as if it was on fire. My ears rung, i was pretty sure i damaged something inside. But my first thought wasn't 'i am going to die' no it was 'where the hell is Wyatt?'

I heard something in the distance, barely since all the ringing I heard. Someone was screaming my name, i couldn't tell who it was. I try and sit up buy my body screams at me, i ignore it as i stand. My hands shook as i stumbled to the pile of burnt supplies, i was coughing madly; the smoke was filling my lungs.

"Wyatt!" I yelled but it came out a little more than a whisper. My hands felt around on the ground until i felt something, it wasn't an object. It was a body. I push it over, a scream escaped my lips as i saw the face. It was Wyatt.

His face was missing chucks of skin, he also was covered in black dust. Tears rushed down my face, i checked for a pulse; there was a very light one.

But it didn't last long, a cannon went off.

All the air in my lungs disappeared, i pressed my blood covered hands to my face. This couldn't be happening.

I was now sobbing uncontrollably, i shook back and forth as i held his lifeless hand. "Becca." Someone came up behind me, at this moment i wanted whoever it was to kill me. I wanted to feel pain like i never have, i could've saved him. The person behind me picked my limp body up from the ground, and brought me to a sleeping bag.

"Becca its okay." It was Cato, i shook my head at this words.

"He's dead-he's dead." A Hovercraft flies above us and picks up Wyatt's body.

Cato pulls me into his arms, his touch make my heart sink. He was the only person that could make me feel okay. My eyes soon got heavy and sleep took over my exhausted body.
