"Your highness" esmehan bowed down to selim and so did her father , i immediately got bad vibes from them and i didn't like that .

" Welcome to the palace esmehan" selim welcomed her with a warm smile which she returned before moving to her mother who embraced her in a hug .

in the meantime her father was talking to selim until esmehan appeared infront of me , i didn't bow down to her and so did she .

" It's great to meet you hiranur sultan" her eyes were moving slowly as she scanned me starting from my forehead to my chin .

"Me too sultana" i answered her trying to keep my composure because it was obvious she was judging me so hard .

" Our table is ready" selim pointed at the table set in the terrace , we waited for him to walk first and we followed him .

each one of us took a seat , and the tension was bothering me a lot .

Mihrimah insisted on sitting me besides selim while she took a seat right next to me , sah sultan was seated infront of selim . as for esmehan she sat infront of us next to her mother and her father next to selim .

"It's been years since i came her your majesty" esmehan started and mihrimah let out a forced laugh .

" You're right , we haven't reunited in so long . time flew by very fast" selim answered her as he took a fork in his right hand .

"Right , hiranur probably won't remember because her sister was the one who was always with us" esmehan answered while he gaze was fixed on me .

There it was i knew would say something to make me feel uncomfortable or not included .

" my sister used to tell me everything so it felt like i was there" that was a lie because akça wouldn't tell me anything .

"She's here right now , we'll have time to be together with her" selim looked at me before he squinted his eyes and i felt so relaxed , as if finally someone had my back .

I exchanged a smile with him before we went back to eating and i could feel esmehan's stare on me .

" Eh esmehan how did you like egypt , looks like you needed that time" mihrimah said jokingly as she swallowed her food and esmehan looked extremely uncomfortable

" Yes , i had to keep myself from stress a little bit and it's not as bad as i thought" she tried to keep her composure as mihrimah let out a small chuckle .

Selim and her father were busy talking about state matters when mihrimah said this .

"Girls what did we talk about ?" Sah sultan whispered as she leaned on the table a little bit for them to hear

"I said no quarells and provocation" with that esmehan stared at mihrimah deeply before coughing .

" I am not the one to say this to" esmehan whispered back to her mother who rolled her eyes . that was enough to make esmehan shut up the whole evening .

We finished eating in silence and chatted once selim talks to us and tries to include us in the conversation . besides that i only spoke to mihrimah the whole evening

Selim then stood up and so did we .

" I guess you must be tired esmehan , you too lutfi pasha . that's why i'll let you rest now have a good night" with that they both wished him goodnight in return before they left the room .

Then me , sah sultan and mihrimah followed , but he stopped me in my tracks .

"Hiranur you stay" i turned around to look at him then glanced back at mihrimah smiling and sah sultan who looked at me before leaving the room .

The silence was very awkward but selim always knew how to break silence .

His hand suddenly traveled to mine bringing me closer to his desk .

" before you go i want to show you something" he sat on his chair as i kept towering over him standing up . but that didn't last long because he slid his hand around my waist and helped me sit on his right lap .

I knew my face would be burning red right now .

His free hand opened one of his drawers and he pulled out a box and put it on his desk .

"What i am about to give you right now is something that was never passed to someone other than you" his eyes traveled from the box to my eyes and his sincere look made me nervous .

" I never intended to give this to anyone until i met you hiranur" his hand that was on my waist moved to my left hand .

his other hand handed me the box and i looked at it carefully before opening it

"You're making me nervous" i said laughing before he followed me with one too

I opened the box carefully and a beautiful green ring popped out . i recognised this ring immediately , it was the ring of the magnificent hurrem sultan his mother .

" Selim i-" i was still in shock " I don't know if i should accept this" i immediately closed the box .

i didn't feel like i was worth this beautiful gift yet .

"You will accept it , it will look good on your hand come on let me do it for you" his hands reached the box again and he pulled out the ring before taking my left hand in his and sliding down the ring on my finger .

It looked fit and amazing but i couldn't grasp the reality .

"Selim this is a beautiful gift thank you" i looked at him straight in the eyes before i embraced him in a tight hug .

hugging him didn't feel awkward anymore and i was finally starting to love this man .

"This is what i want to see , you smiling that's enough for me" he spoke in my ear as i hugged him tightly.

i pulled out from the hug until i was few inches apart from his face . before we could even think about kissing fireworks started outside making me jump back .

" Did you forget about it not being over yet" he looked over at the sky and so did i

" These were the best days in my life thank you for sharing them with me" i spoke as my gaze shifted to his eyes .

" I don't think any day will top these two past days really" i continued before glancing back at the ring and him .

"Better days are coming our way don't worry" with that he rested his hand on my cheek and pulled me for a kiss .

This is the best way i can finish a night .
