Chapter Nine.

We sit in the living room, the solid black couch is more modern than what I would expect. My mother comes in, she's wearing more casual clothes now and she holds three bottles of B Positive blood. It comes in a bottle similar to the Starbucks bottle, it has a label that says B Positive.

It seems legit and then I realize, The Towers must sell blood in bottles like humans sell soda in bottles. My mom hands me the cool bottle and I twist the metal cap.

"What do you want to know?" My mom asks, taking a seat next to my father. She sits with her knees tucked underneath her, her large plush sweater swallowing her whole.

I think of what I want to know but I want to know everything. "I guess let's start from the beginning." I tell them, drinking the thick blood.

They look at each other, silently having a conversation once again I bet. My father decides to take the beginning.

He sits up and sighs. "I'm going to start with your birth." He tells me. "Me and your mother purposely went to the human world. We wanted to meet a good couple and get to know them so we felt comfortable giving them our child." He tells me, looking at mom.

"We knew we wanted a baby so we began to try after we met Ronny and Faya." His green round eyes stares right though the wall in front of him. "We knew they was good people, they was financially stable, they had good hearts." He clears his throat.

A sudden look of sadness washes over my mother, she pushes her thick luscious brown hair out of her eyes. "We also chose them because they wasn't capable of having children of their own. They would be more probable of accepting our child because they yearned for one." It sounds a little cruel, I understand but suddenly I miss my other mother. I yearn for her and I wonder if she can feel it. Even though I know she can't, a part of it makes me feel better if I believe she can.

"Too, we wanted them to experience a child as well." I nod, listening.

"You was born at our home in the human world, one of our medics came and helped us. Once you was born, we explained to Ronny and Faya and they accepted you immediately." He shrugs, taking a swig from the bottle of blood.

"The beginning is not much of a story, it did hurt us. It killed me handing you over. I would dream of you every night, I would check in on you and it would hurt because here you was growing into a young woman without me." My mom looks suddenly tired, my father throws his arm around her and I study them both.

"You did what you had too." I ease her mind. "Why did I have to wait until I was eighteen to see you?" This was a big question I had for them.

"I know it seems too late but you are a baby in our age. You're still young and wreckless. You had to wait simply because at this age you've matured and you're more capable of being able to learn more quickly." She explains, I can see how that makes sense.

"If we was to bring in a sixteen year old, they could possibly kill us all because they're incapable of controlling themselves." My father gives the shocking example, I almost can't believe it.

I'm considered an adult in the human world but I'm a baby here in The Towers. I find that weird but it did make sense. It made more since actually than the original explanation.

I take a moment to process everything, they have a way of explaining it better than everyone else. "Actually, Van Doren is the second strongest bloodline. The first is the Queen of course. That's why we live in this big house," My mom motions around her.

"Our family has been here for generations and generations. Which means, actually, you will be the strongest Succubus in your class." My mother boasts and my father chuckles.

It comes to a surprise that I could be stronger than the other Succubus. It does feed my confidence and it does make me feel like somehow I do belong here.

"Class?" I realize she mentioned classes and she smiles.

"Yes, you will be going to a school for young Succubus's and Incubus's. It's to learn your history, powers, how to control and channel your energy." My father lists, "It's a great program for young ones like you." I'm going to be going to school? This isn't any school. I'll be around people my age and people that's like me, which makes this so much more exciting.

"You'll also train and fight. Training you'll do with Sariah, it'll be a couple days a week like four." My mom casually explains. "This is where you will actually practice your powers." She adds, I feel energy coursing through me at the mention of practicing.

"Fight Classes, they're assigned to train you to defend yourself when you're attacked or you need to protect yourself or someone you love." My dad explains, I also love the idea of becoming the best I can be.

I actually have a place where I belong and I can make something of myself. "If we're being attacked by enemies, you'll be trained to fight so you can handle yourself." My mom explains.

"Do you guys fight?" I ask them, genuinely curious.

"We use to, now we're apart of the counsel. If we was to go to war right now, we would be making decisions on what to do and where to go." I want to learn everything they know, I want to know what makes us the strongest and how to top that.

β˜…

As we talk, I decide to learn more about my new home. It turns out that our ancestors actually was apart of the counsel that made The Towers. It's technically a safe place and home for my kind. Despite being ran by demons, it's a civil place. We have laws, communities, schools, training grounds, libraries and food markets.

I also learn that humans can live here but only if they're committed to one of us. The Towers also home hybrids, my parents tell me that we have lots of hybrids. A hybrid is when two creatures come together and the child carries both of their gifts.

During this, I learn that Witches, Vampires, Werewolves, Mermaids and Fairies exist. I also learn that there's only one person here that is mixed with an Incubus and an Angel. The most rarest.

I almost lost my mind but if we are real, there has to be others that are real as well. I wasn't as confused as I was excited to know that I was apart of something so amazing.

Afterwards, my mother tells me that the following day, the Queen will be having a party in my honor. Mom collects books about our history, gifts and information about The Towers from the library and brings them to my room as I shower before bed.

The shower is massive and beautiful, the shower head is so large it feels like I'm standing in the rain. The warm water helps wash the tension away from this exciting day.

I close my eyes and feel a weird sensation wash over my body, I open my eyes and almost scream when I see a boy standing outside the shower.

I see him perfectly through the glass, the first thing I notice is his piercing blue eyes and his beauty.

"What the fuck?" I glare at him. How did he get in here? My heart is pounding against my chest and I began to call for my mom when he holds his index finger. Wait.

"Go," I glare at him. He's just studying me through the glass, he opens the glass door. I grow weak and step back into the corner of the shower.

If I truly felt in danger, I know I could easily wreck him. Something keeps me from doing so, it's as if he knows exactly who I am. He enters the shower calmly and closes the glass door behind him. I nervously glance at the bracelet but there's no light rimming the letter, I trust the bracelet to warn me.

"Come here," He tells me, he studies me carefully and I realize that the mist from the shower no longer looks like mist but fog.

Before I can reject the command, my legs began to move towards him. He grabs my hand and pulls me to him, my wet nude body collides with his and I'm pinned to the wall directly in front of him.

His big blue eyes studies me intensely, "What'e your name?" He asks, it sounds like he demands to know my name. His deep voice sends chills through me.

"Scarlet Van Doren." I immediately answer.

I feel kinda funny, which makes me even more uncomfortable.

"Where did you come from?" He asks, I shake my head.

"Fuck off," I shove him away from me. "I want out." I whimper, slightly afraid. I move towards the door but he stops me.

"I'm not going to hurt you." He studies me like he's fascinated. "How did you do that?" He shakes his head, "No one has ever been able to resist me during-"

"During what? Your fucking rape trance." I spit, that's when I realize that a male Incubus is playing games with me. This must be a dream or some type of spell.

"Do you think it's okay to do this to people?" I hug my bare chest, ignoring his nude body.

He seems taken back a bit. "What do you mean? I just wanted to talk to you and feed with you." He genuinely seems confused as to why I'm so upset.

I take a moment to process what's going on. "What? You want to feed?" Is that what he wants? His body is beautiful, it looks carefully crafted by gods and in any other sense I would've probably had liked it.

He nods, "Okay, I thought we could only feed with humans?" What do you know, I'm learning something everyday.

"We get more power from feeding from each other." He explains, he lifts his hand up to brush the wet hair out out of my face.

I didn't know that. "Okay, well. No." I reject him, "You came in here with the wrong vibe." I tell him, trying to sound as fearless and stern as I can.

He takes a step back as if he's shocked. "What do you mean? We do this all the time." He scoffs, seeming quite sure of himself.

I shrug, "Look. I just wanted to meet you, okay? I wanted to know your name because I think you're the most beautiful demon in this place." I'm taken back by his words, he gives me a soft smile.

I focus in on him and listen to his heartbeat. Instead, I grow nauseous and my vision blurs. I stumble, "Woah now." He wraps his arms around me. "You can't do that with me." He chuckles, showing his perfect teeth.

Suddenly, I feel more weaker in his hold and I don't understand. Incs are a lot different than human boys. "Why not?" I look up at him, he runs his eyes over my face.

"I'm a hybrid." His voice is soft.

"With what?" I try to regain my stance, I do but for some reason my legs still feel weak.

"I'm half Incubus and half Angel." He smiles down at me, I can't help but to notice the twinkle of the unknown in his eye.
