"You no longer be ignorant to me son," Renzo's mother eyed me as she placed some mashed potatoes on her plate.

"Your son don't know how to treat a lady — and thats clearly somebody at homes fault," I replied; sending his mother a fake smile.

Lorenzo grabbed ahold of my leg and squeezed it tight, making me hiss.

"You black girls have no respect," his mama commented making me choke on my water.

"Excuse me?" I looked at her like she was crazy.

Lorenzo's mama was a white hispanic - fair skin, light eyes .. she had no respect for others around ber but went out her way to let a Dominican man get her pregnant.

"You heard me — just black, loud and ghetto. A horrible type of woman. You're all the same." She replied, scrunching her flat ass face up at me.

I didn't even think I just stood up and tossed the bottle of water I had at her face making everyone at the table gasp and jump up.

"YOU BLACK BITCH, OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW!"

"Glady," I told her as I bent down and picked my son up.

"We out," I told Lorenzo and he tried grabbing me but I snatched away.

"Keep your hands to yourself — take my son and I to a hotel. I'll have my cousin come for us."

"Go back in the house," he spoke up walking towards me.

"Lorenzo — back the hell while my son is in my arms cause yeah .." I told him and he scoffed.

"Ungrateful ass bitch," he mumbled as he went inside and grabbed his keys and bought out my sons bag and my duffle.

Buckling Semajay up in his car seat — I decided to sit back there with him.

Just incase Renzo was on some slick shit.

"Come up here yo," he looked at me through the rear view mirror.

"I'm good — just take us to a hotel. My sons not coming back over here ever again; best believe that." I told him and he made a face but kept that mouth shut cause he knows his mama was inna wrong.

And he was wrong for not saying nun — especially cause I'm the mother of his very much black child.

I rolled my eyes and just waited until we made it to our destination.

Semajay had fallen asleep so when we arrived, Renzo carried the bags in and I carried him inside.

"I'll pay for the room — I'm sorry how everything went down tonight," he stared back at me.

"Can I kiss my son?"

I handed Semajay off and Renzo placed a kiss on his forehead and then took him to the spacious king sized bed — taking off his shoes in the process.

"I apologize for real — she was wrong and I was wrong for not saying nun so I understand why you don't wanna bring him back."

"Mhm, you can go now."

Sighing, he nodded his head and made his way to the door.

As soon as he made it outside, I locked the door and went straight over to the bed.

I slipped out of my shoulders and pulled my natural hair up into a messy bun.

I grabbed my phone reading over the time; 8:50 pm.

I went to Tae's contact and send him a voice clip, explaining everything that happened.

A few minutes go by and he's calling my phone.

"Me and King gon slide on you tonight; we boutta leave now. You want me to fuck Renzo up, cause I will."

"No it ain't even worth it — he knows whats happening. I told him Semajay can't come back down here; simple."

"If you change your mind lemme know — we'll run down onna nigga in a heartbeat for you. Alright; I'll
call you when we out there."

"Alright bye."

Once the call disconnected, I started sharing my location with my cousin and then plugged it in; making sure it was on loud so I could hear whenever he called.

"I love you baby boy," I mumbled in Semajay's wild hair.

He cuddled closed to me and I smiled as I pulled the cover over us.

Really my heart in human form.

"We here!" I heard Tae's loud ass as I finished getting dressed.

"Come on papa, put on your shoes. Your cousins here." I told him and his eyes lit up, making me him quickly put his shoes on.

I laughed and grabbed our bags as we made our way to the front desk.

After we checked out, Semajay went running when he seen Tae.

I rolled my eyes hard, seeing him posted up on his new Audi smoking weed and carrying over a pound of it.

So dumb, I shook my head and ole bull King came up and took the bags from me.

"Thank you," I mumbled.

He didn't say anything, he just sent me a head nod and put my bags in the back.

"Did you bring his car seat?" I questioned Tae and he made a face, "shiiit, I knew I forgot sum .. aye just put him in the seatbelt."

I rolled my eyes but did just that.

There was finna be a long drive, so I held onto Semajay as I closed my eyes; letting sleep take over my body.

"Wake up cous — we at Zaxby's, what you want?" He questioned me as he picked up Semajay and made his way inside the store.

I yawned, "ion know;" I mumbled.

Checking the time I seen that it was 4:30.

"How much longer we got?"

"2 hours I think it said — me and King be switching out; he gon finish it though." Tae spoke up.

I turned to King, he had a blank expression on his. face

This man was too fine for his own good.

"You want me to finish the drive?" I questioned him.

"Nah you good lul mama, I got it." He spoke up, which made me smile a little because he was a man of very few words.

"You sure," I questioned again.

"Yeah — get you and lul man sum to eat. Its on me."

"What about me?" Tae looked at him.

King smacked his lips, "You ain't my bitch."

"Well neither is my cousin," Tae shot back and ole bull just shrugged his shoulders.

He's so nice.

[ had to look sum shit up — never had this place. Don't got one in my city ]

Sitting down at our table, we all waited until our food was called; engaging in some conversation.

Very minimal but enough.

"Jahnani!" The lady at the front called and I stood up to grab my stuff.

As I was walking some light skin dude approached me; making me scrunch up my face.

"Wassam wit you lul baby?" He spoke; showing off his rusty ass looking grills.

"I'm not interested;" I told him and as I was walking off he snatched my arm; pulling me back.

In a brief moment — King came up and punched bull directly in his face; sending him flying.

Well shit, my eyes widened.

"She said she wasn't interested," he repeated for me.

Ole dude stood up and backed off, holding onto his bloody mouth.

"You good?" He questioned me as he walked over to the front and grabbed both of our food and drinks.

"Y-yeah.. you keep saving me; I feel like I owe more than a thank you."

He shrugged, "you ont owe me shit — just stop fucking wit ya lame ass baby daddy. I can tell nun good going on." He expressed as he sat down; making me think about that.

The fact was he was completely right, but I had to deal with him for Semajay's sake.

Sighing, I went straight to the table and started eating.

I got my son some buffalo chicken fingers with some fries and some ranch for his dipping sauce.

For myself, I settled on some buffalo wings and fries with ranch as well. I was a simple gal when it came to this type of shit.

"Thanks cuz,, thanks King!" I waved at them as I made my way inside of my apartment.

I sighed as I collasped on my couch, just happy to be home.

Semajay ran off to his room — probably to play but since it was almost 7 mama was gon take a nap then whenever I woke up; make this boy and I sum dinner.

"Semajay!" I called.

"Yes mommy!" He yelled back.

"Mama taking a nap — I love you!"

"I love you too."

I smiled, my lil baby.
