I started feeling pains in my lower belly making me choke on my salad.

"Are you ok?" Rasheeda asked and I looked up at her giving her a faint smile .

I felt nauseous as hell , like I was about to faint . My stomach was causing pain to my body , my head started hurting . My mouth watered as if I was about to vomit . It was so much happening at once .

Genesis was out of town , in New York for a business meeting . Since all of the supply comes through New York , at least that's what he told me .

Slowly walking back into the livingroom she looked at me for a while before she busted out laughing "I know you not serious?"

"What food you was talking about?"

"You see a plate in there? It should have some me-" As she was talking I was moving around food trying to find it . Shit was packed as hell.

"Found it." I told her pulling it out and she sighed .

"Now I call thy midwife."

"Who is that?"

"She's my doctor basically , but i'm having a home b-"

"A home birth , thats what the pools for" She pointed to this large ass tank that I didn't see before . "Ok I have all the basic shit she needs." She mumbled looking over at the couch .

It had all types of weird shit on there , the only thing I recognized was the gauze sponge .

She hung up and reached her hand up making me walk over there and pull her up. Who knew two humans would weigh so much .

"I really need to catch you up on the tea , hold on I have to change . Listen out for the door she should be on her way."

After a while I just turned the tv on and started munching on the fruit rollup I put in my pocket earlier but forgot about I'm glad she called me first out of everybody else .

I always wanted to be there when she had her first kid hoping it was gonna be a girl though . Niggas are hard to raise . I mean look at Nadir? That dude try to kill himself all day long , and all he do is fight.

Suddenly there was knock at the door . It was soft , I don't know nobody who knocks like that.

I opened the door for shorty and she smiled walking past me with her head low. You could tell she was the type to just get the job done with no complications.

I don't know shit about a home water birth , I would've never thought about giving birth in a livingroom .

Right before I could close the door Promise big ass came stomping through pushing me aside.

Feeling like a rag doll out this bitch .

"Shut up" She huffed going into the ktichen after she sat her bag down , I shrugged shutting the door but not before checking if there was anyone else.

I heard the microwave door open and I sucked my teeth putting my hands on my hips "Promise , I just know you aint come all the way over here to eat up homegirl's food."

"Lord" The lady mumbled shaking her head laughing .

She looked at me weird and slowly nodded directing her attention back onto whatever she was doing .

Nari taking a long ass time getting changed , damn what the hell she finna put on.

She walked out the back with a life jacket on and I busted out laughing "What's funny?"

"Ju-Nari take that shit off." Promise told her coming out the kitchen and I continued laughing .

"Oh" She mumbledd taking it off revealing her Nike sports bra .

"Um... sir do you mind filling up the tub?"

"A hose smartass" Nari butted in slowly sitting on the ball

"A garden hose?" I frowned my face up "My nephew aint finna be born in dirt water."

"No bitch a drinking hose." Promise straight faced me

"Don't be talking to him like bitch." Nari told Promise and the mid-wife looked at me confused

'They Playing' I mouthed to her and she nodded looking back down .

I then went into the garage looking around , then I found what looked like a drinking hose , pulling the plastic off it . I then went and plugged it up and went into the livingroom putting the end in the tub and turned the water on .

I waited until it was halfway full just listening to their conversations and went and turned the water off . I then shook the hose getting out all the access water and dipped my finger inside to feel it .

"Ouuwee" I shook my head

Shit was a lil cold .

I went in the kitchen and filled up a pot of warm water to the top and took it to the pool .

What yall know abt this? Nothing .

Coulda just mixed the cold and hot water when you were filling the pool up in the first place

"Alright I'm done." I sighed tired

"Thank you fave" Nari smiled still rolling around on the ball

I scrunched my face up "What's the reason for that?" I asked pointing to the ball

"It's my birth ball shorty."

The lady tried to help her up but I pulled her up with one hand and kicked the ball some where to the side .

"My water broke asshole"
