"Keep me through my nightmare."
- Flora Cash

1 October 2018

Isaac

"Hey Chris," I seductively whispered as I leaned forward, pecking her cheek.

"Finally dumped her?"

"Yes, she wasn't worth it," I lied. I needed to get ahold of that damn fucking phone of hers to which she always seemed to cling to.

"Let's go to the bed then," she cooed, her fingers slowly traveling to my jeans. I felt like I was failing Riley at this point of our relationship. She was trying hard but being the mess I was, I destroyed what we had. I even hung up on her during our last phone call.
Since then, she had been ignoring me.

"Go get yourself undressed baby," I whispered with a smirk on my face. I needed that fucking phone and I'd get it. While she was away, I grabbed it from the kitchen counter and headed straight outside of the house, jumping in my car and driving home.

"Haven't seen Riley in a while now," Jilian inquired, scaring the fuck out of my soul.

"Jill! I could have died of a heart attack!" I yelled, frustrated. I rushed to my room, not waiting for a response from Jill and I texted Dylan's boyfriend,Noah.

Isaac Fucking Miller
Hey Noah, I got the phone.

Noah(Dylan's man)
Great. Meet me up in an hour at Florida.

Isaac Fucking Miller
Cool.

I took a cold shower and slipped some fresh clothes on afterwards. I was dressed in a pair of skinny blue jeans and a black baggy t-shirt paired with my signature black Vans.

"I made pancakes," Jill uttered, frightening me once again.

"What the fuck is wrong with you," I grunted, making my way towards the kitchen counter.

"Where ya going?"

"Out," I mumbled before making my way out to the balcony. I was quite hesitant but I scrolled through my contact list to look for the only name with a red heart beside it.

Isaac Fucking Miller
Hey... I got C's phone.

I didn't really know what to say.

Riley Hills
And you've just got a 'break-up' announcement from your now ex-girlfriend.

Isaac Fucking Miller
What the fuck Riley? I love you and I don't want to break up.

Riley Hills
You're right. You don't want to but I do want to end 'us'.

I threw my hand against the wall in despair. I messed up.

You fucking messed up, Isaac Miller.

We hadn't even reached half and a year and you already messed up.I was a jerk. I had always been one.

"Judging by your face, there's defo something wrong," Jill stated.

"Riley just broke up with me."

"You're a jerk, bro," she scoffed before coming forward, slapping me and running away.

_________

"Wake up honey," I heard a familiar sweet voice whisper.

"Mom?" I ask, shocked. I hadn't seen my mother in a while now with all of her business tours and meetings.

"Get ready, we're going to Florida Cafe," she ordered, pecking my forehead. She got up and walkrd out of the room, leaving me alone in my depressive room.

I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and dressed up. I wore a pair of black sweatpants and an equally black hoodie. I wasn't in the mood to dress up like I normally do. I ruffled my hand throughout my hair, messing it up even more.

"Are you okay, hun?" Mom askdd as I was staring at the landscape while she's driving. "You seem off. I understand if you're mad that I didn't come earlier."

"No... no... It's not about you." I gritted.

"Then? Is that about... Riley Hills?" she asked with a small smile forming on her lips. I eyed her in confusion.

"How do you know Riley?" I asked.

"Oh, Jill can't keep her mouth shut and you know it," she laughed.

I was in pain.

I couldn't even laugh.

Realising that I made the girl I loved sad made me feel sick.

"What exactly happened?" my mom inquired, her hand patting my shoulder.

"I messed up..."

"Isaac... sometimes in life, you need to find solutions to your problems.I'm sure that you didn't even bother to call her."

"I cheated on her mom. Then, I messed it all up." I admitted, my eyes brimming with years.

Boys also cry.

"Hun, do you love her?"

"Of course mom, she's my life."

"Then, go for it.Don't lose time!" she said, almost yelling. She was right.

We drove to the store and I rushed inside to buy some chocolate, earning weird looks from the other people there. I honestly didn't give a damn fuck at that moment.

"While you were in, I went to the florist and bought some red roses," Mom said, taking the packets of chocolate away from me. She carefully placed them in a black paper bag.

I grabbed a blank page from my mother's spare notebook and jotted down my apologies.

Dear Ry,
I love you and I'm sorry. I know that words won't change our situation but I don't want to lose you. You're the air I breathe, you have the key to my heart... you're my everything. I'm sorry, once again.

From your future boyfriend and husband and father to your kids.

"Let's go!" Mom cheered as she increased the volume of the song being played on the radio.

_________

"You can do it." Mom said encouragingly ,flashing me a hopeful smile.I slightly knocked on the door and a woman instantly opened it.

"How may I help you?" she questioned, her eye brows knitted in curiosity.

"Can I please speak to Riley?" I politely asked despite the weird feeling deep down in my stomach.

"Yes, come in and take a seat." The bouquet in my hand, my body trembled. Every slight noise made me jump. I had never been so anxious in my life.

"I- Miller?" Riley asked, as she appeared at the top of the staircase, dressed in a loose pair of orange shorts and a white tank top, "what are you doing here?" She continued.

"I'm here to see you," I replied.

"Don't you think it's too late, Miller?"

"Yes and no." I slowly walked up the stairs, not tearing my gaze away from her's. I handed her the bouquet and the bag with.

"Forgive me."
