You sit in the passenger seat of the car while Toji drives to Jin's house. Misaki is in the backseat, singing her heart out to the song that's on, one that Toji added to his phone just for her, while baby Megumi sleeps. Megumi doesn't wake up from Misaki's singing, but oddly enough he can manage to wake up when someone speaks ever so softly.

If it wasn't for your daughter singing, things would be beyond awkward in the car. Because you told Toji the truth but he refused to listen. So what else could you possibly do? He doesn't know what to do either. But he has figured out that you don't want to talk, so maybe he isn't as dumb as you think. At least he can figure out the obvious.

When Misaki's song is over and there's a bit of silence before the next, she says, "Are we almost there?"

"Should be there in about five minutes." Toji answers. Then the next song comes on and she's singing her heart out again because she knows the song word for word. And it's nice to hear Misaki sing again. She refrained herself for a bit even when her favorite song would come on, and you never truly understood why. It all happened after her father left, and then again, so much changed for the both of you.

And just what Toji said, in five minutes you're outside the apartment complex where Jin lives. Toji parks and you get out of the car quickly to get Megumi from his car seat. Misaki and Toji also exit the car, and Toji picks her up to carry her so she won't have to walk to the second floor.

"Can you get Megumi's diaper bag? It's on your side." You tell Toji as you take the sleeping baby into your arms. Toji doesn't respond, but he does what he's told and grabs the diaper bag.

You begin to walk to the building's stairs, and Toji follows behind. He really can't go anywhere without you since he doesn't know which apartment it is. Toji is just thinking of an excuse to leave as he walks up the stairs.

"Did you buy a gift?" Toji asks, hoping he can convince you to turn around and leave. Something that he should've done in the car, but if he did you would've just made a quick stop.

"I did. It's in the diaper bag." You respond, speaking softly to not wake up the sleeping baby in your arms. Megumi is wound to wake up soon, but you just want the baby to get as much sleep as he can since he's usually groggy if he doesn't get an exact amount of napping time.

"Did you pack everything needed for Megumi?" Toji continues, thinking of something that'll make you turn around.

"Yeah. Jin also has stuff we can use. He has a baby too, which is the only reason why we're here." You tell him as you finally get to the floor. You don't dare to mention the real reason why you're here. Yuuji is just an excuse, but in reality you want to see Jin. And you don't feel an ounce of guilt for wanting to see him, but it's best not to comment on it in front of Toji.

You continue walking as you look for his apartment number and Toji just thinks about the next possible excuse. What could possibly make you want to turn back? Maybe something regarding the kids' health, but he isn't willing to make up that type of lie to get out of this.

It's too late when you knock on the door. Within a minute, Jin opens the door with a smile on his face. It somehow gets brighter when his eyes land on you, which makes Toji roll his eyes.

"So nice to see you." Jin tells you quietly, noticing that Megumi is dozing off. Jin moves to the side, allowing you to enter the apartment. Jin still smiles when Toji walks in, but not as brightly. "Hi Misaki."

"Hi Mr. Jin." Misaki responds with a little wave. Once Toji is inside, he puts Misaki down. Toji looks around, seeing that it's fairly empty. He just sees an old man, and the baby, but no one else.

"Where is everyone else?" Toji asks without hesitation.

"There's not many people that want to come to a one-year-old's birthday party, believe it or not." Jin chuckles awkwardly as he closes the door. "Yuuji's mom is hosting her own little party since she can't stand being in the same room as me."

"Aw, sorry, Jin. You don't have to explain yourself, Toji can just be a jackass." You tell the man who just smiles at you.

"It's fine. Anyway..." Jin just looks around, trying to figure out what to do first. His eyes land on Misaki. "Misaki, I heard your mommy was bringing you here so I bought some grape juice, would you like some?"

"Yes please." Misaki answers and Jin walks to the kitchen to get her a carton of juice. Meanwhile you sit down on the couch with baby Megumi, and Toji sits down beside you.

"Hi." You greet the old man, who you assume is Jin's father. He holds baby Yuuji, and is so focused on his grandson until you greet him. You introduce yourself and he does the same.

"I'm Wasuke, it's really nice to meet you." He responds. The older man expects Toji to introduce himself as well, but Toji remains quiet, his arms crossed as he just stares off into space. Wasuke can't even bring himself to label Toji as a man with no manners because in the end, Wasuke understands Toji's behavior. He too wouldn't be comfortable when it's so clear that Jin is into you.

"Here you go, Misaki." Jin gives the juice box to Misaki and she goes to sit beside Wasuke on the couch. She looks at baby Yuuji, who was much smaller the last time she saw him. She waves at him, and the baby just stares at the juice box, doing grabby hands because he wants some. "If you want you can put Megumi down on my bed, I assume it's not too comfortable to hold him for so long."

"It's fine. He's going to wake up soon." You tell him. You know Megumi and he'll wake up in around five minutes because he always wakes up around this time. "We did bring a gift."

"Really? Oh, you shouldn't have. Yuuji already has so much." Jin comments.

"No, it's fine." You assure him. You signal Toji to get it from the diaper bag. Toji opens the bag and looks for the gift, and when he finally finds the wrapped gift he gives it to Jin. Jin doesn't open it right away, instead he puts it away.

"Thank you." Jin smiles, specifically at you. You smile back at him, making Toji glare. Wasuke just feels the awkwardness, and he clears his throat so all the attention is directed at him.

"We made some food, let's eat." Wasuke speaks as he stands up, holding his grandson. He walks to the dining table, and Toji and Misaki stand up. You sit still on the couch, attempting to wake up Megumi. You hold him in front of you, and your finger brushes the bridge of his nose a couple of times, and a yawn escapes his lips as his eyes open slowly. That always manages to wake him up.

"You coming?" Jin asks and you hum in response.

"Just waking up Megumi." You answer as Megumi slowly opens his eyes. He keeps blinking, fighting the sleepiness. You finally stand up with an awake baby and sit down at the table, next to your husband and across from Jin. Misaki sits next to Toji and just patiently waits to be served so she can eat. Wasuke sits next to his son, holding his grandbaby.

You begin to eat, making light conversation. Everything seems to go smoothly so far.

-

After Yuuji blows out his candle, all of you go back to sit down on the couch. This time Toji holds Megumi while you hold baby Yuuji. Yuuji notices the necklace you have on and holds on to it, while you maintain a conversation with Jin and Wasuke. Misaki eats some candy that Jin gave her, and Toji just glares at Jin. Megumi copies his father, glaring at baby Yuuji.

"Yuuji is just so adorable." You comment, your hand brushing against the back of the baby's head, feeling the soft hair. "He's growing up so fast. Same way with Megumi."

"Yep, that's how they are." Wasuke responds. "Next thing you know they're getting married to someone you don't approve of, and starting a family."

You feel your cheeks get warm because in a sense that applies to you. But it also applies to Jin and Toji, so you're not really left alone. You clear your throat and say, "Guess that's the way of life. Parents can sometimes be wrong though."

Although your father was right for once, Shiu Kong turned out to be a shit boyfriend. At least in the very end. Misaki isn't really paying attention, but from time to time she does get a tidbit of the conversation. She speaks up, "That's not true. You're always right, mommy."

It causes everyone to laugh. Even Toji chuckles for the first time. Ever since you walked into the apartment, he's been cold. Barely speaking. Toji's attention shifts when he feels Megumi move a bit too much. He just stares at the baby, who is clearly trying to get your attention, but you're engulfed in yet another meaningless conversation with the Itadoris.

"Mama!" Megumi calls out which catches your attention. You look at the baby's big eyes, and watch as he opens and closes his little fists, wanting you to take him from his father's arms. Unlike the first time, Toji is happy that Megumi called you mama, for the sole purpose to remind Jin that you're a married woman.

"Honey." You pout, standing up to give Yuuji back to Jin. When Yuuji is in Jin's arms, you pick up Megumi, kissing his cheek before sitting back down. "Megumi is such a jealous baby."

"Is he like this with Misaki?" Jin questions and you shake your head.

"Only with other babies. He adores Misaki." You respond, catching Misaki's attention at the mention of her name. She tilts her head. "Is your little brother jealous of you?"

"No." She answers.

You look at the time that the wall clock displays and you just look at Jin and give him a weak smile. "I think we should get going."

"Yeah... It's getting late." Jin responds. Toji quickly gets up from the couch, and Misaki stands up as well. They say their farewells fast and wait at the door for you to come as well. You smile and wave at them, pinching little Yuuji's cheek. You walk to the front door and Toji opens it. Jin follows behind, wanting to walk you to the car. Toji and Misaki begin to walk and before you can follow, Jin stops you. "Can we talk real quick?"

"Uh... Yeah." You respond. "Toji! Take Megumi to the car, please."

Toji is forced to turn around and grab his son from your arms. He doesn't dare to question anything, instead he takes the baby and catches up to Misaki.

"I just want to thank you for coming. I really appreciate it. You see how lonely we would've been without you and your family." Jin says and you smile at him. There's so much sincerity in that smile and that look you give him.

"It was really no problem. I'm glad I came. Yuuji is really such a cute baby." You respond, holding back any questions that might offend him. You really want to ask why he's on such bad terms with Yuuji's mom, but it's best not to ask that. "Maybe Megumi and him can be friends someday. Megumi's jealousy will eventually go away."

"For sure." Jin chuckles. "I'm really glad that you have such a great relationship with the baby. It must be hard considering he doesn't have his real mom."

"Well I am-" You begin but it's best not to finish. You consider yourself as Megumi's real mom, but that's not what Jin meant so you bite your tongue. "Yeah. Glad he was quick to warm up."

"You have been with Toji for almost a year, right?" Jin asks and you nod in response, quickly remembering that you had to lie about the amount of time you've been with Toji. "It's crazy how fast you two got married."

"Yeah... Well sometimes you know who the right one is and you can't let that go." You chuckle, trying to mask your awkwardness.

"But you don't seem really happy." Jin brings up out of nowhere, and your eyes slightly widen. You take a deep breath and smile at him, tilting your head.

"What do you mean? I'm happy." You tell him. "I'm happier than ever."

"You and Toji have no chemistry whatsoever. You two barely even looked at each other while you were here. The only time you ever really said anything was when it was about the kids."ย  He replies.

"He just didn't want to come here." You tell him, sparing any details. Jin's hand goes up and he grabs your chin. You don't push his hand away.

"Is it because he knows that we have more chemistry together? Is he jealous?" Jin questions and you bite your tongue, holding back your response. What can you really say to that? You just stare at him, straight in the eyes, unsure of what your next words should be.

Toji can see what's happening from the car as he puts Megumi in his car seat. His eyes can't tear away from the sight. He's just watching how Jin's hand tilts your head up. He just scoffs, holding back the urge of going there and literally cutting his hand off.

It won't go past that, he thinks. You wouldn't allow it, right? You're a married woman, you wouldn't let Jin do anything else.

Or perhaps you haven't received the memo. Because you let him get so close. Jin's face is so close to yours and he doesn't stop. And you don't stop him. Instead you tilt your head and allow him to get closer. Noโ€“ His eyes have to be deceiving him. You're also moving closer to Jin.

Jin's kissing you and you're kissing him back. And Toji can't tear his eyes away. And Toji can't do or say anything other than putting his son in the car seat.

Toji can only watch as another man kisses his wife.
