COMMENT NIGGA DAMN

๐˜‘๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ 28๐˜ต๐˜ฉ

"I hate both of y'all I'd rather be in jail again." Brian said dryly, slapping their hands away as they tried running their fingers through his nappy hair.

"You'd rather be in jail tha- wow. That... that's hurtful."

"He serious too. Nigga was having a blast in prison." Zeik pulled his phone out and went to his gallery to show her all the pictures he'd taken while he was there.

"I wasn't having a blast but I was entertained." He looked over at the pictures and laughed all over again.

"Proud to be a hood rat? Mmm. Imagine that. Ghetto." Zania muttered, turning her eyes to the side and scratching her braids as he mugged her.

"Shut yo fat ass up."

"I'm not fat bitch. About to call yo P.O."

"Call that bitch. I got a warrant anyways." He said dryly, laying his head on her shoulder.

"For what?" She sat up and thumped his head. The last thing his dumbass needed to do was go to jail again, especially right now.

"I was bothering Rashad and I accidentally knocked the slushee shit over and it spilled everywhere. Then he told me to clean it up and I said no so his fat ass wife came out and called the police." Brian waved it off and she just stared at him wondering if he was serious.

"We know why you like jail." Jade said slyly, taking his face out of India's neck just to be a smart ass.

"Never got my booty took so be quiet."

"For real?" Zeik looked at him curiously and he shook his head no.

"I would never think either of y'all are as gay as y'all are like damn what the fuck. Both of y'all got this look.. like y'all beat bitches." Zania grabbed their faces in her hands.

"Never hit a girl a day in my life. Be slapping the shit outta him though."

"When I tried kissing him around other people he'd dodge it. Used to be hurting my feelings." He looked over at Brian who just shrugged.

"Why kiss me if you know I don't like that shit?"

"But y- okay Brian. I won't kiss you." Zeik responded dryly, not in the mood to argue. Even with Zania he acted like he didn't enjoy affection or anything that he felt made him less masculine.

"I didn't say I don't like it now."

"I don't care it was still a lie nigga now shut up." He mugged him and got the same mug back.

"Can they stop? So gross." Zania looked over at India and Jade as she whispered in his ear then pecked his cheek, watching a blush wash over his face while he kept the same still expression.

She'd just woken up. Before meeting her Jade had never met anyone who could randomly fall asleep at anytime regardless of how loud it was around her.

"Stone face is blushing." Brian muttered.

"What?" Jade looked over at him in confusion and it made him laugh even harder because he understood that it was a confused face despite his expression not really changing.

After getting to know him he understood what Zeik meant when he said he did make faces. He didn't, but he did, but not really. It was minor changes like his eyes opening just a tad bit more when the subject interested him. Or when India was talking to him his expression softened, like he was listening intently.

He mainly communicated through cutting his eyes at people, squinting in aggravation, raising an eyebrow, or dropping them low to show his disinterest. He smiled lightly when it was something funny happening but the only person that could make him bust out laughing was India, Zeik, or himself.

"Did you talk in school?"

"Not really. I talk when I have something to say, I never had much to say because I didn't like nobody in class." Jade shrugged.

"Aww does that mean you like me? You warming up?" Zania punched his shoulder playfully and laughed but he just looked down at her hand then back up at her.

"He's acting stank but he does. We was at target and he looked at baby stuff and asked how far along you were." Brian felt him turn to mug him and ignored it.

"That don't mean I like her."

"You don't ask about people you don't like."

"Whatever shut up." He frowned and put his head back down while India laughed.

"Where Tyler and Neicy go?" Zeik asked randomly, just now realizing they weren't around as much as they were before.

"Tyler feels weird about me being pregnant so I distanced myself and I guess Neicy just fell back too. Doesn't really matter because I have y'all. Tana secretly hates me but it's okay because he don't like nobody." She smiled, genuinely happy as she rubbed her belly.

Her and India had grown closer lately. It wasn't that there was something wrong with Neicy or Tyler, Zania just matched her energy a lot better. She was playful and easy going, no matter how hard she tried adapting the mean sassy shit just wasn't for her and it made her uncomfortable.

Neicy was the type that wanted to play fight all of her friends in middle school and went out of her way to really swing on them. She asserted herself as alpha in every friend group she'd ever been in and it was becoming very tired. She was a good friend from a distance though.

Tyler was cool too, she just didn't try reaching out toIndia to develop their own individual friendship.

"You tired?" India grabbed his face in her hands and he nodded slowly. Such a baby.

They all listened to music and engaged in small talk, not saying much to one another. Zania sang loudly but stopped abruptly when Zeik's phone kept vibrating against her butt. There was nothing more annoying than the apple ring tone to her.

"Turn it off." She grabbed it and his hands almost went to grab it from her before he dropped then and let his head fall against the couch.

"What are you doing?"

Zania put her hand up to his face and unlocked it with her other hand, going to his messages because that's where the notifications were coming from.

When he snatched it out of her hand she turned around to look at him stupid.

"No."

"No?"

"I'm not cheating and if you feel like I am break up with me but you not going through my phone." He straight faced her, putting his phone back in his pocket.

Zeik wasn't doing anything dumb and if he was he'd admit to it. He never denied cheating. He cheated in the past but when Brian asked he admitted it.

"Okay." She turned her head back forward and tried fighting the tears brimming in her eyes. She was stern with them but when they were stern with her it hurt her feelings more than she'd like to admit, even if they didn't scream at her.

"You crying? Stop." Zeik wiped her eyes as she sniffled and turned her face to him, kissing her chastely so she knew he wasn't mad. It sounded rude coming out but he just wasn't going to spend every second of every day being accused of sneaking around.

He had baby stuff in his phone, a lot of things planned that he'd rather surprise her with. And he knew she'd feel stupid if she opened the message and saw what he trying to get done after accusing him of cheating.

"Never seen a whale cry before." Brian looked at Zania and they both stayed quiet for a few moments before she threw the sandal at him while he finally cracked and laughed.

"I'm not that big."

"Okay hippo."

"Right. Big ass elephant." Zeik laughed with his mouth closed and Jade did too.

"What you laughing at bird chest?" She looked at him and he looked around to see who she was talking to, cause he didn't have a damn bird chest.

"You not talking to me. Your baby daddy's raise they hand when the DJ ask where the fellas at, you got bigger fish to fry fat ass." He mugged her and India's mouth fell open as she tried not let her laugh out.

She just turned to where she'd be able to see Zania because she could go for a cute minute before running out of smart shit to say.

"Ya bitch be drinking bottles in the club courtesy of the chasers. Ask her why she be in Meek section, fry that fish dickhead." Zania straight faced him and India's mouth fell open again. Why was she getting exposed now?

"Day thirteen of quarantine and you made chicken Alfredo eight times. What you gotta say for yourself?"

"Okay okay okay. Y'all about to get outta pocket I can feel it."

"Fat pregnant ass." He muttered one last time, shutting up when India grabbed his cheek and pinched hard.

"He don't be on Instagram but this nigga be showing his whole ass on Twitter." Zeik looked over at him and he shrugged.

"Serenity think I'm so funny, stop retweeting my shit. Was it funny when I cheated on you bitch?" He saw a twitter notification and just knew it was her.

"I thought you didn't cheat oh wise one."

"I didn't know I was somebody's nigga till they fought."

"I-"

"Can I have three sandwiches, no mayo, a large fry and a sprite?" Jade looked over at India for confirmation as he recited her order and she nodded.

"You gonna eat all that?" Veronica asked snidely, looking out of the window in boredom.

She decided not to respond. Eli was in the car and the last thing she wanted to do with argue with his grandmother in front of him. She didn't wanna argue with the lady at all actually.

"I don't know how you eat this everyday. Especially when say no to actual restaurant food for it." He grabbed his Lysol and sprayed the woman at the windows hand and his card before he said thank you and took it.

"I love Popeyes. What can I say." India's foot tapped against the car floor in excitement as they pulled up the the second window.

When she got her food and Eli sat up and looked at her so she just laughed. They'd all went out to eat but she didn't order anything because fancy food didn't do it for her. He was just an eating machine.

"Here." India handed him some fries and Serenity began speaking up.

"Uhm. You don't know if he's allergic to that. Don't feed my son without asking me."

"I do actually."

"How if he's not allergic to anything?"

"When you don't feed him I do. He's allergic to olives, cherries, and bee stings, you would know if you ever took him to the doctor but you don't." She said politely, handing him one of her sandwiches knowing he'd want a bite.

Serenity decided to not say anything else because she didn't feel like arguing. The girl didn't know what she did, it was true but she had no proof so it didn't matter.

"No mayo?" He looked at her and she shook her head no so he hit into it. Eli hated mayo just like Jade and India.

"That's enough." Serenity tapped his arm as he swung his legs back and forth chewing calmly.

"Leave him alone. He's minding his business you should try it." Jade looked at her in the rear view mirror and she rolled her eyes.

"Thank you Dee ma." He handed it back and smiled at her, making her smile back. The name was new.

They all heard it but decided to not comment because it'd make the car ride even more awkward. Jade and India didn't care but Serenity was obviously upset by it.

"I'm not riding in the back seat ever again but I'm letting it slide this time." Veronica sighed, seeing India's aggravated expression from the mirror.

She looked over at him to say something but he didn't, he just stayed quiet and acted like he didn't hear anything. She sighed and it made his mom want to push further.

"If you two getting more serious I would like to meet your mother."

"I'm grown." She straight faced her.

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"You don't need to meet my mom, me and you don't even have a relationship so you two definitely don't need one." India said seriously, feeling Jade look over at her as if you say stop, which just annoyed her further.

"We don't have a relationship?"

"You don't like me..."

"I never said I didn't like you, I said I didn't like you for my son. Big difference. If I saw you walking down the street I'd think you're a very pretty girl. Sounds like you don't like me."

"....what?"

"You can't hear? If you want me to like you then stop being defiant, I said I wanted to meet your mother and you could've just said yes."

"I don't talk to my mother, we don't speak at all. That's my business and like I said I am grown. My mother has nothing to do with you." She was really trying to maintain her composure but it was like the lady poked and prodded at every single thing.

"Is that why you act the way you do? Child if you want something to do with my family then I want something to do with yours. If you two are serious then I wanna meet her."

"Excuse me?" India stopped chewing and turned around to look at her, wondering if she was serious. The first sentence threw her off.

"Problem?"

"I- girl." She turned back around and decided against responding again.

The car ride was awkward, especially when Serenity and Veronica had friendly conversation, sneaking funny glances at India while she scrolled through her feed and ate.

When they got to his place and everyone began getting out of the car she held his arm to tell him to stay back for a moment. They looked at him as to say hurry up.

"I'm coming. Go head." He nodded towards the door and they began walking away.

"I'm trying to be nice. Tell her to stop."

"I can't make her do anything she don't wanna do. It's not like you gotta be around her everyday so just ignore it."

"How about you tell her to cut it out because I didn't do anything to her."

"This really don't have anything to do with me. Both of y'all are being catty and shady to one another so I'm not involving myself. Stop bucking everything she says and she might ease up."

"So I cant have an opinion or the answer the way I want for her to like me? Not happening. I'm gonna keep my peace but if she keeps bothering me I'm lashing out on her or you, and if it's you I'm smacking the fuck outta you because you shouldn't be keeping quiet while your mom harasses me. Now get out my face." She walked off, slapping his hand away when it went to her shoulder.

"You mad?"

"YoU mAd? The hell, leave me alone."

-

Jade looked over at his mom while she talked to Serenity, taking his attention away from Eli for a moment as the boy rambled endlessly about nothing.

"Da listen!" He grabbed his wrist and until he got his dads attention wanting him to listen even if he wasn't saying anything important.

"I can't believe she took your crayon. So sorry. Really." Jade nodded attentively as Eli waved the crayon box around.

"It was our boo. That boo." His eyes began watering as he relived the robbery.

"I'll get you another boo." He wiped his eyes and tried not to laugh at the genuinely upset reaction.

Eli was bad as hell but only when he was around someone he didn't like. He was good because he liked seeing his dad proud, being bad was never rewarded and he liked rewards. School was one of the places where he tried his best to conduct himself properly, key word tried.

It was hard because he didn't talk or interact so when his crayon went missing and he noticed another girl with it he just shut down further and stayed quiet about it until he got to his dad.

"Dee ma take boo boo?" He asked quietly, noticing she was in the bathroom longer than usual.

"No DeeDee is crying over her food being cold. She'll be back soon."

Jade saw his mom walk towards him with serenity and rolled his eyes to the side.

"You are so cute." Veronica cooed, touching his hair before he snatched away and looked at her funny.

"No." He said plainly, looking back down at his tablet so she wouldn't keep talking to him.

"Is he always like this?" She whispered to Jade and he nodded.

No, he just don't like you,

"How old are you?"

"..."

"He's not talkative. Leave him alone for now."

Serenity just laughed awkwardly at his dry and plain tone. She had no idea he'd even been this distant with his mom.

It wasn't always like that. Up until recently they were as close as ever but it was still something Jade didn't feel like addressing.

"When will I get more grand babies?" Veronica looked over at Serenity and the girl just blushed. He wasn't amused though.

"Huh." He would pretend to not understand if she wasn't going to be completely upfront about it.

"Not from the girl. You two could still work out, you have a kid tog-" She stopped talking when India walked out of the bathroom and sat back down next to Jade.

"Hi." India muttered, looking anywhere but at her as the lady stared her down.

"Like I was saying. You two still have a child, I feel like you're imposing yourself on them and ruining what could be a complete family." Veronica looked at all of them as she spoke, seeing her sons girlfriend slightly taken aback by her bluntness.

It was getting very tired. She would never understand why this lady disliked her so much.

"That's unfortunate for them." India said simply, eating a fry as the woman snapped her head in her direction with a raised brow. Jade was surprised that she responded too, biting on his bottom lip as he discomfort increased by the second.

"What's unfortunate is how selfish you are."

"I'll be selfish. If I ever were to get pregnant you would never see the second grand baby you keep praying for because you're disrespectful as fuck." She grew aggravated, tone becoming hostile as her and Veronica stared each other down.

"Girl who told you that you'd have his second baby?" Veronica laughed and threw her head back but India just chuckled.

"Keep that same energy."

"I will, silly ass girl."

"Bitch the only thing silly is the clown sitting next to you and the idea of him breathing in her di-"

"Chill." Jade tapped her subtly when he heard the bitch word fly. He didn't want them arguing and he knew his mom was apart the problem but hearing anyone call her a bitch bothered him, even if she was a bitch.

"No fuck her and the other bitch next to
