Β  Β "You ready for this?" Shota looked over his shoulder at me.

I gave him a small thumbs-up, "It's not like I really have a choice."

People wanted answers and we were the ones to give it to them.

"You look pretty dapper today." I nudged his side, trying to ease the tension in the air, "Maybe we should go to more press conferences."

"You won't be saying that once this is over."

"We've just got to answer some questions, how hard can that be?"

Turns out it was harder than I'd thought.

I was sat at a small grey desk with three other people, placed between Shota and the UA high's principal, Nezu, currently being stared down by the eyes of reporters and the cameras were stationed almost everywhere.

I'm not the most confident person when it comes to public speaking. You'd think that, because I own a cafe, I would be used to meeting new people and talking to them. But that wasn't hero work, this was.

When you were recognised as a hero, people hung to your every word, and that scared me.

"-Allowing the students to use their quirks would help avoid the worst possible outcome."

I turned my attention back to the room, wiping my palms against my thighs and picking up the end of Shota's sentence.

"What would that outcome be? Do you think 28 victims and 1 kidnapped child is a win for UA high?"

Shota sat forward in his seat, "I assure you that things could've gone much more poorly. I feared every student would be tortured and killed in the end."

"Most of the victims were harmed by the gas attack-"

My ears started to ring and I focused on a spot at the end of the conference hall, so as to not meet anyone's eyes, but to look as if I wasn't about to throw up.

Lost that pro of being an underground masked hero now too.

"Can you say the same for the abducted? Katsuki Bakugo?"

At his name, my grip tightened on my thigh and I saw Shota tense slightly from the corner of my eye. I was now looking straight at the reporter.

"He enrolled at your school with excellent marks and went on to win the sports festival, before that he survived the attack of a powerful sludge villain who eventually had to be taken down by All Might. The boy is obviously strong and heroic. On the other hand-"

My gaze turned into a glare at the beginning of the man's new sentence.

"-The violence he displayed in the finals and his attitude at the awards ceremony both show that he cannot control his temper."

It was taking me a lot to control my temper right now.

"What if this is the real reason the villains kidnapped him? What if they're brainwashing Bakugo right now, pulling him toward the path of evil? How can you sit there and tell us he still has a future?"

The seat beneath me jolted as I went to stand up and give that reporter a piece of my mind, but before anyone could notice what I was doing, Shota placed a hand on my shoulder and stood up, bowing his head and giving me a look.

"As Katsuki Bakugo's teacher, I take full responsibility for not taming his violent behaviour. However, his actions at the sports festival were born of his deep-seated convictions. He's trying harder than anyone in his pursuit to become the top hero. If the villains think they have a chance with him, then they are grossly mistaken. I can guarantee you that much."

I nodded at his response, if I had gotten up and shouted at the man, I definitely would've made the situation worse.

"I didn't ask you how you feel, I asked for concrete information."

"Concrete information is based on the idea that we know what is going on inside the kid's mind. We don't. So consequently, we have to go on what we know. What I know is that Bakugo is a good kid, there is no doubt in my mind that he could never be so easily coerced into becoming a villain. As Eraser Head said, he wants to become the number one hero and I have never seen someone follow through with their ambitions as pragmatically as Bakugo. Although he may come off as arrogant, I had the pleasure of training him at the summer camp and I can tell you that he showed complete determination when training in the hopes of becoming stronger and helping others. And that is why I have complete faith in Katsuki Bakugo." I don't know how I managed to stay calm throughout that. At that moment, the eyes boring into my skin didn't matter, what mattered was the truth, and that was that Bakugo was a great kid and would be an even greater hero.

"Aren't you a victim of the attack? I have grounds to believe that you were with a group of students at the time of the attack, more specifically, with the kidnapped student. Do you think you could've done more to help him?"

My body went stiff and I stared at the man, my face void of emotion from the sheer weight of the question. "I-" my voice cracked and I looked down at the table, in doing so I saw Shota's hand reach for my own and firmly link his fingers in between mine.

I looked back up at the man, "I don't see why that's an important question at this time. As much as I'd like to, I cannot go back in time and change what happened. Would you not rather ask about the measures we are going through to help find this student? I thought journalists were meant to be good at asking the right questions." I shook my head, and cocked it to my right, "Nezu?"

"We're are doing our best with what we currently have available. I have no doubt the police will break this case very soon. We won't rest until our missing student is returned to UA."
