𝙎𝙐𝙈𝙄 𝙒𝘼𝙉𝙏𝙀𝘿 to cry. she missed her family. she wanted to go back home to jeju-do, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, sumi wasn't able to go home during the break bighit had given them. she tried not to let her feelings show but her members knew that she was struggling a lot. she knew that traveling to them would cause a higher chance of her and those around her getting contaminated, and plus, she didn't want to go behind everyone's back especially bighit's because who knows what the consequences would be.

instead, she settled towards video calling.

"sumi sweetheart! it's been a while! you better be eating and resting well young lady!" her parents scolded her. despite the long distance, her parents had a glow on their face as they spoke to their youngest daughter.

"i am, i am" sumi huffed, knowing that whenever her parents texted or called, the first thing they'd speak about is her health. "how's everyone back home doing? i wanted to come home but i know bighit would not allow it due to the virus" she continued, seeing her pet dog appear in the frame and barking at the sight of her.

sumi's eyes lit up, "potchi! hi baby, how are you!" as potchi lightly barked at sumi through the camera, before lightly whining.

"potchi's cried a few times to be honest with you. i think she's missing you too much. next time we see each other, we'll bring potchi with us" sumi's father spoke in a gentle tone whilst petting the white pomeranian's head.

"i miss her too" sumi pouted in response, wanting to cry at the fact her puppy cried that her owner wasn't with her. "where's the big guy?"

"me? i'm here" spoke her brother as his figure slowly appeared within the camera frame. he bent down slowly and waved, "i would say i'm missing you, but i'm not".

their mother snorted, "as if, the other day you were complaining about how much you missed playing video games with her"

sumi cackled. "changwook, shut up. i miss you too, i miss all of you" her mood suddenly plummeted, as more tears were beginning to appear. she tried to wipe any fallen tears before her family could see.

"sweetheart, don't cry! we'll see you again that's for certain! it'll just be a while longer okay? i'm sure bighit will allow a longer break and you can stay with us during the time period!"

"yeah, plus i need someone to beat on these video games"

"shut up changwook, i'm going to beat you 100%"

"we've got to leave now, okay sumi?" her father spoke with a hint of sadness in his voice, devastated that their video call has to end so suddenly. small exchanges and goodbyes were spoken before the video call ended, and a knocking sound appeared at her doorstep.

"hi sumi" seokjin spoke, as his head peeked through the door, "want to watch a movie with us? unless you're busy?"

"no, i'm free actually" sumi smiled at the eldest member, "i'll join you in a second, i'm just going to refresh myself for a second"

"i'll see you downstairs, yeah?"

sumi nodded in response, as seokjin slowly closed the door.

she faced back towards her desk and stared at the family photo in a delicate black frame, before lifting it towards her lips and giving the image a soft kiss.
