Nakano poked the babies cheek, smiling as the toddler reached out for her finger.Β

Izumi took her son back, informing the woman that he needed to now be fed to which Nakano shrugged.

"So," Izumi smiled. "When are you going to have one of your own?"

The older Uchiha didn't even flinch, already used to the questions just about everyone asks her. She didn't reply and instead shrugged her shoulders.

"So...?" Nakano raised her eyebrow at Izumi. "Is it true?"

"Is what true?" Izumi responded similarly, getting a bad feeling about her sisters next words.

"Is Itachi a bottom?"

And by the blush on Izumis face, Nakano knew it was true.

Obito furrowed his brows and massaged his temples, processing what his friend had just said.

"So...You're not completely retired?"

"Nope." Nakano huffed. "I'll start again in two years then properly retire when I'm forty-five!"

"You're gonna be all wrinkly by then." He snickered and looked away from her glare, though she only rose her nose snobbily and crossed her arms.

"Shut up, mr "My back hurts from doing paperwork and I sound like a sixty year old man"."

They glared at each other for a few seconds, a thick silence that was broken by Obitos groan as he slammed his head against the desk after losing the staring contest.

"You haven't even told Kakashi, have you?"

"Nope!" Came her cheerful reply, only making him groan louder.Β

"He probably wont like it."

"So?" Nakano ruffled her hair a little and took a step back, preparing to leave when she bumped into a familiar chest. A hand wrapped around her waist and tugged her closer, turning her around to look at the Hatake.

"You're what?" He narrowed his eyes and she could see the way his lips curled down just the slightest in displeasure despite the mask covering it.Β

Obito awkwardly slid down in his chair, mentally sobbing and just wanting to be with his wife while pissing off the council but alas, the job of a hokage wasn't only being cool much to his confusion.

"I thought you retired fully."

"But I'm 30-" Kakashi kept a firm grip on her waist and stepped back, practically dragging her as his hand twisted the doorknob and he stumbled out of the room only to quickly jump into the next and lock it.Β

Nakano blinked, processing everything that had just happened before looking up at him with a blush, back pressed against the door he pinned her to. Her hand rose and fingers traced his jawline, calming him with her simple touch that he leaned into.

"It feels strange not going on missions. I don't want to be away for too long."

"But I can make money for both of us-" She smiled.Β

"I know you can. But being a kunoichi has always been a part of my life, and I'm bound to return to it eventually." She could see the way his eyes seemed to darken before softening. He leaned forwards and buried his head in the crook of her neck, having his arms wrapped tightly around her waist and pressing her body flush against his own.

"It's just...All it seems to do is cause you pain, and I-" He took in a deep breath. "I'm sorry. I just want to protect you. I probably seem like a terrible husband."

"Uh-Uh." She shook her head and cupped his cheek, lifting his head to meet her kind gaze, seeming to be the only expression she held as of late.Β  "You aren't doing anything wrong, Kashi-Chan. I just want you to support me in my decisions."

"And I will," He nodded. "But...When do you plan to, y'know, get back to work...?"

"Ah!" She grinned. "Two years!"

"What?!"

"Ah...Shino." The tall Aburam respectfully bowed his head, a soft smile on his lips. Nakano returned the smile, her eyes closed and lips curled just slightly at the sides.

"Here to visit Uncle Shun?"

"Yes." She crouched down and placed the blue flowers down, knowing it was her former teammates favorite colour which seemed to pass onto his nephew.

"I apologize," He spoke next to her, staring at the stone and noticing her questioning gaze.

"Why? Because I must have caused you much pain when I act much like my uncle." He removed his glasses, placing them down on the grave since it was originally his uncles when he was off duty and he had long ago worn them to honor the man.

"If I'm honest, I hated you when I was younger. Why? Because I wondered why the so called 'Strongest' could not be strong enough to save my uncle."

It was honestly a little surprising for him that she didn't flinch or even react with a small smile or such. However, he noticed the way she sighed, as if she was used to what he was saying.

"Yeah..." She didn't laugh or smile, but there was a hint of playfulness in her tone. "That's a common sentence people seem to like saying to me."

He grimaced, the guilt he felt increasing the slightest though it was nowhere near as heavy as her own. "Though, my family for the first time grew angered at me when I expressed my feelings, however they were also thankfully patient enough to explain the truth of the situation."

"T-The Aburames did?"Β  She didn't know that. Shino nodded in response.

"In our clan, though we tend not to speak too much- Why? Because it is bothersome. In our clan, you are a hero."

"S-Seriously...?" She gasped, standing from her crouched position and blinking with slightly wide eyes because at this point, finding out her best friend was alive and fighting with her dead team- it seemed as though nothing could shock her anymore.

"Yes," He smiled at her, dark brown eyes glinting with kindness.

"And we'd very much like you to join us for dinner some time, Uchiha Nakano."

The heavy burden on her shoulder lifted just the slightest, her ears checking for any lies and finding none as an image of Shun flashed in the growing boys place.

"Yes," Nakanos eyes curled. "I'd like that, Shino. Thank you."
