"Talk to me."

"..."

She shifted her gaze to the side, many negative thoughts occurring in her brain, which Kakashi seemed to notice as he unwrapped all the straps around her body. As soon as her body was more free, he pulled her into a tight hug and swallowed the lump in his throat.

"I know you're tired." Each word he spoke, her arms twitched with the desire to hug him back. "You hate being dubbed the strongest. You hate acting so cheerful and smiling all the time, but you know that if you don't smile you'd cry." Minato and Shisui watched behind the glass as Kakashi spoke. If anyone could cheer her up, it was her very own fiance.

"You don't have to do any of this."

"Yes I do..." Her voice came out as scratchy and hoarse, and his own softened even more. "No you dont." Kakashis teeth locked together tightly and clenched when he pulled back from the hug. He wanted to be comforted that she wouldn't try this again, but right now she needed to be put first.

It scared him that he wasn't there to stop her. The fact that he could be holding her lifeless body instead of her living one almost made tears fall.

"You're not a burden. I don't know how you ever came to think that, but you've never been a burden." He smiled a little. "If anything, I've always felt like a burden to you. Always comforting me and helping me-"

"That's not-!"

"No." He quickly stopped her. "Let me talk. Focus on yourself."Β

She pursed her lips and shifted uncomfortably, wanting to be left alone but also with him. He allowed her to shuffle backwards so her back was against the cold wall and her legs were huddled close to her.Β  She buried her head in her knees and covered her head with her arms, just wanting to disappear away from anyone or anything. He could see her shaking, but she wasn't crying.Β

Nakano was never the type to cry easily. Usually, it took a large build up of emotions for her to let out a single tear, as he noticed in the years he'd known her that since she wasn't gifted with physical strength no matter how much exercising she did, it seemed instead she was extremely strong mentally.

But the world pushed her to her limit.

Her weak voice muttered out all she could. He could practically hear her pain bouncing off the walls. Her voice cracked, signalling that she was close to crying. He went to shuffle closer, but she only distanced herself from him even more, and he had to admit, that hurt him.

"I've had enough..."Β

"...Tell me, do you still think you're a burden?"

Her silence was all he needed to shift his seated position into a crouched position. He placed his knee on one side of her smaller body and kept the other to his side in a sort of lunged position. Bringing his hand up, Kakashi slowly caressed her hair and was relieved when her shaky breath turned a little steady.

If he was honest, this was the most vulnerable he'd seen his fiance, and that was saying something. She didn't have her infinity on, she wasn't controlling her chakra, and she wasn't on guard at all. The only thing she was barely controlling was her tears.

"Stop..." She brought her hand out and pushed against his chest, doing nothing but he complied and backed away. Had she seen his face, maybe she would have hugged him, maybe even kissed him. But she didn't.

She just wanted to be alone.

"I see..." He stood up and walked towards the door. "Just tell me when you're ready to talk. And remember, I love you."

"She's not good at all, huh...?"

"I think it's best you give her time alone." Minato placed a comforting hand on Kakashis shoulder, but his former student just sighed and nodded. Shisui glanced back at his sister figure one last time before exiting with the two.

"Don't tell Sasuke about this, or Naruto."

"And Itachi?" Kakashi sent his sensei a look. "I'm telling him. He's my brother and is mature enough."

"Itachi will be in hysterics if he finds out." Shisui argued. "He won't be able to complete missions or focus."

"Take him off missions. I'm telling Itachi. End of discussion." The two famous shinobi gave each other narrowed stares until Minato sent them away, giving Kakashi the permission to inform Itachi of what had happened, while Shisui organized which ANBU would guard Nakano.

Though none of them knew the ANBU would be completely useless.

"W-What?" Itachi scrambled to stand up. "Where i- Is Aneki alive?" Kakashi nodded.

"Where is she?" Itachis voice cracked a little. "She's okay r-right? Aneki's fine?!"

"Yes. Physically." It was surprising to see Uchiha Itachi panic, since he was a calm and collected man. It proved just how much he loved his elder sister. If Itachi was panicking, Kakashi could only imagine his other brother in law crying.Β

"Take me to her."

"I can't, Itachi." He spoke before the Uchiha could argue. "Me, Minato, and Shisui-San already tried talking with her, she refuses. She needs time to think, and I know that sounds bad but you know how your sister is. She'll be ready to talk eventually, and considering she tried to kill herself..." He clenched his fist.

"We might have to get a Yamanaka to enter her mind and...Try and help."

"Is it by choice?"

"No. She'll be forced to." Itachi took a few deep breaths to calm himself, though it did little to nothing. He locked his jaw and set his ANBU equipment away.

"Who saved her?"

"Shisui-San." And in an instant, it was as if Itachi had flickered away faster than Shisui ever could.

"Ah, Kakashi." Mikoto smiled kindly, unaware of anything that had happened. Kakashi sent her a small nervous look, and her smile instantly dropped. He shivered a little at the sudden change and cowered at her gaze that pinned him.

"Where, Is, my, daughter?"

"M-Mikoto-Okaa-San. I-I'm not supposed to-"

"Hatake Kakashi." He stilled. "It would be in your best interest to tell me where and what happened to my daughter, or so help me IΒ will make sure you can never have sex!"

"Y-Yes ma'am!"

And there goes his feared title of the copy-cat nin, as he feared his own mother and could never lie to her.

Kakashi was really happy Nakano wasn't intimidating like her mother. Itachi seemed to inherit that instead, and boy did he use it a lot.

Though all jokes aside, after telling her what happened to Nakano, he was surprised to see she was composed. Mikoto sighed and shocked him by pulling him into a hug, one he didn't know he needed yet he embraced it fully.

"Just please be patient with her Kakashi." She begged. "Nakano will not die unless it is in battle. This may have been a close call, but if we can help her now, she will never try this again no matter how bad it may be in the future."

"T-Thank you, Okaa-San."

"Hello Nakano."

"..."

"I believe you and I have some business."Β

"Who are you?" They chuckled.

"That's not the point here. Now let's talk about how you're supposed to be dead."

"..."
