Leah

i sat down at the table and see Millie and Louis walk down the stairs, Louis eyes immediately meet mine and he glares at Millie who just walks over and sits across from me. Louis sits two seats across from me keeping distance. Mrs Partridge serves us food and everyone is silent,

"so, Leah, tell us, where's your hometown?" Mr Partridge asks me.

"Seattle Washington," i say.

"oh, we've never been." Mrs Partridge says.

"well if you do then bring rain coats, it rains all the time." i say.

"why would you want to leave and move back to somewhere where it rains?" Millie asks. Louis chokes on his water and Issie slaps his back a few times.

"moving back?" he says after he's done choking.

"yeah, Leahs moving home to finish senior year." Issie says. "i thought you knew,"

"i came here to tell," i say.

Louis looks hurt, "i've lost my appetite." he says standing up and leaving.

"Louis wait," i say getting up and going after him.

i follow him to his room where he begins pacing back and forth, "why didn't you tell me?" he begins.

"i wanted to," i say.

"why didn't you?" he says with tears beginning to roll down his face.

"i wanted to, i just, we've barely spoken, it would seem sudden." i say. "i'm sorry,"

"it's too late to apologize," he says.

"no, don't do this, i'm not the bad guy here, you think this is easy?" i say. "leaving this wonderful city? leaving here and having to go home and watch my dad grow a new family?" tears roll down my face. "i didn't tell you, because i'd miss you the most."

without saying anything he hugs me, i wrap my arms around him and we cry into each other.

"i'm going to miss you, so much." i whisper. "you showed me the city, you were the first person i met here. you know if it weren't for that skateboard, we wouldn't be here right now." i say pointing to the skateboard he rammed into me the first day we met.

"hey! watch out!" i hear someone shout.

but it's too late, i get tackled to the ground by someone on a skateboard. i groan in pain,

"i'm Louis,"

"i'm Leah,"

"Leah King will you marry me?" he asks jokingly. i nod my head.

"go out with me, on a real date."

"i love you,"

the highlight of our past were flooding through my head, tears were stinging my eyes.

we pulled apart from the hug and i sniffed and wiped my tears, "thanks for ramming in me on your skateboard." i say in a whisper.

"thanks for not moving when i shouted at you." he says in the same tone.

______________

after a lot of hugs and tears, i left their home to get some sleep before my flight.

Louis

mum closed the front door and walked upstairs, Millie and Issie followed soon after. i sat down on the couch and dad sat next to me,

"i loved her, and i let her go." i say trying to not cry.

"look, if she didn't feel the same way, she wouldn't have left. i think that girl is still in love with you," he says.

"no, i know she isn't." i say.

"she left, because she loves you, and you two can't realize that you're both still in love with each other." he says.

"thanks, but i don't think that's true." i say getting up. "goodnight, love you." i walk up the stairs and collapse in my bed.
