They ran through the tall swift grass with nothing but excitement. Their e/c eyes guided their way to the soft flowers that grew in the small meadow. Their hands ever so gently touch the tips. They gripped their school bag closer to them as it hung loose.

"Y/N! Wait up!"

Y/N turned around to see a ginger-haired girl with brown eyes and freckles that covered her face. Willow, Y/N's best friend. Her hair flowed through the wind as she made her way towards the h/c person, with her backpack tossed around her shoulder and a smirk planted on her face.

"I don't understand...you come to this place every day yet when you're here it's as if this meadow is completely new to you!" Willow laughed.

"Hey! You can't judge me... it's the only place without man-made nature!" Y/N huffed as they slowly bent down to pick off a beautiful daisy.

"Well...what about the park?" Willow asked.

"As I said, man-made nature." Y/N sighed, unamused.

The two friends walked away from the small meadow. The trees got smaller and smaller, slowly blending into the busy city. Loud cars and people talking filled the air. Huge buildings and skyscrapers surrounded the two friends, so tall it was as if the highest peak of the buildings touched the clouds. Y/N and Willow moved closer to each other as they made their way down the streets...

"Aunt Jess! I'm home!" Y/N said as they opened the door to their apartment, Willow just behind her. Y/N closed the door, waiting for an answer. Assuming she wasn't home, they walked down the hallway and into Y/N's room. When they entered their room, they both threw their bags on the floor. Willow flopped on Y/N's bed, while Y/N sat on the edge, looking out the window. They were several stories high. Cars and people all ran below. Sometimes with a group, or perhaps a dog by their side. They'd always admire the humans below, amused by how everyone's life was completely different from another's. Y/N then looked at the sky. The sun was setting, revealing the speckles of stars in the sky with the moon in the distance.

"I can't believe today was the last day of school...what should we do now?" Willow asked the e/c person.

Y/N sighed and glanced at their friend. "I have no clue..we were supposed to come up with ideas all year but...we didn't write a single thing down!" grumbled Y/N.

"Well uh..what about the zoo? Or the skate park?" Willow suggested.

"We've been there so many times..all honesty here, I think we've been everywhere in the city..." Y/N trailed off.

The two friends sat in silence, hoping they'll think of something fun to do to spend their summer break.

"Y/N! I'm home!"

"We're in my room!"

Aunt Jess opened the bedroom door and looked at the teo. She had long black hair and tan skin, with brown eyes. Jess was quite tall, and wore a loose top with a gray vest and a matching long gray skirt with black heels.

"Oh hey, Willow! Nice to see you. What are you two talking about?" She smiled.

"Nothing really....just trying to think of what to do this summer," Willow mumbled.

"Oh right, you two have practically been everywhere in the city at this point!" Aunt Jess laughed.

"YYYY/NNN!"

A little boy with brown hair and blue eyes ran towards Y/N with his arms open wide.

"Hey, Gregory." Y/N playfully rolled their eyes, gently pushing the boy away.

"Y/N! Willow! What do you guys have planned this summer?" Gregory chirped.

Willow chuckled. "Honestly kid, we have no clue...but hey, maybe we could have a water balloon fight at my house next week. How does that sound?"

Gregory jumped up with joy. "That sounds awesome! Could I Aunt Jess? Could I? Could I? Could I? Please!"

"Of course kiddo, now calm down!" Aunt Jess played with the boy's brown hair as he squirmed with excitement.

"Oh oh oh! And could we go to the pizzaplex.......mega.....Freddy..erm..." Gregory trailed off, struggling to say the words correctly.

Willow quickly looked at the boy and smiled.
"I think I know what you're talking about Gregory! I've wanted to go too! C'mon, follow me!"

Willow sat up and walked out of the room, Gregory following behind her. Aunt Jess looked at Y/N and raised her eyebrow. Y/N giggled and shrugged.

"Just follow her I suppose!"

Willow clicked the button on the remote, her finger pressing several buttons as the channel changed every few seconds.

"Y/N...what is Willow doing?" asked Gregory, tugging on his older sibling's shirt.

"I think she's trying to find the commercial of what you were"

"-Boom! Found it!" Willow interrupted Y/N. Everyone stared at the screen as a voice was finally heard.

Gregory cheered and ran around the room while Y/N and Willow laughed.

"Looks like there's gonna be different animatronics too! Like that wolf!" Willow smiled.

"And the gator too. Can't wait!"
