I feel the anger sweep through me as soon as I turned to see her with Theo's arms wrapped around her. I could tell that she was uncomfortable but he still had his hands on her. And then again with his hand on her leg. I couldn't help but snap at him. She was clearly trying to move away but I knew she was too nice to tell him to fuck off.

I was going to talk to her, but when Chase sat down I knew it wasn't my time. I waited in the pool, watching from afar. This girl already has me so wrapped around her dainty little finger and she has no idea.

Climbing out, I walk over to my towel on the table, deciding that I'd had enough of waiting. I almost walk out of the room when I hear a commotion that catches my attention. A few guys stand around the edge of the pool laughing. My eyes scan the room quickly, resting on Chase's hoodie by my feet. The one that Aurora just had on, but Aurora herself is nowhere in sight.

The guys all look confused suddenly and I look down at the water in front of them, bubbles rising. "Call an ambulance. Anyone." I say quickly and without a second thought, I dive into the water, immediately spotting Aurora's shiny blonde hair reflecting the rays of the underwater lights. She's sinking to the bottom of the deep pool. She struggles as I swim down to her. Suddenly she stops. I grab her waist and kick off from the bottom, pulling her to the surface with me. She isn't breathing.

The guys are freaking out as I surface with Aurora's limp body, her head hanging back. No time to feel anger towards the idiots that did this, I lift her body out of the pool and lay her gently on the ground. Wasting no time, I lean down to listen for breathing. Nothing. I check for a pulse but my hand is shaking. One on top of the other, I place my shaking hands on her chest and start CPR. No response.

Tilting her head back, I pinch her nose closed and seal my mouth over hers. I breathe out, filling her lungs with my air. I try not to panic because that won't help her in this situation at all, only I can. I lay her down again and continue chest compressions.

Halfway through a set, her body tenses and she coughs up water, a lot of it. I lean her up into a sitting position and firmly pat her back. She gasps for breath with watery green eyes and recovers enough to throw her arms around me, sobbing. By this point, we have a crowd around us, and Chase is kneeling on the ground.

I wrap my arms around her and lift up from the ground. Looking at Chase and he nods, letting me take her out and away from the crowd. "I'll meet you at the hospital after I deal with them." He says, nodding his head over to the group of bystanders.

Faye and Kiki look worried but they don't make a move to follow me, knowing expressions on their faces. I grab her towel and room key from the table with one hand while the other is placed under her ass, holding her up. She doesn't loosen her grip the entire way to the lobby and I glare at anyone who looks in our direction. By the time we get there, she's breathing normally again but her body is shaking excessively.

I sit on one of the chairs in the front of the hotel lobby, not giving a fuck that I'm soaking through the cushion. Aurora is sitting on my lap in the chair, straddling my waist and I don't allow myself to react to our position. Readying myself to carry her out to the ambulance when it arrives.

As soon as I hear the siren and spot the flashing lights, I pick Aurora up in my arms and carry her out to the ambulance with the towel wrapped around her as best as I can. The paramedics unload the stretcher and I lay Aurora down on it gently with her watching my movements the whole time, pleading with big eyes for me to stay with her. "Is this guy alright?" The paramedic asks Aurora and I glare at him.

"Yeah, he's my brother." She says, holding back a smirk and I realize she is throwing my words back at me from the last time that she was in the hospital.

I think about it for a second. Holy fuck. This poor girl has had to go to the hospital twice in such a short span of time. This paramedic also doesn't look like he believes that answer but he doesn't question it and I thank god for that.

"Could you tell me what happened?" The paramedic asks her and she tells him about how she was thrown in the pool but can't swim. She blushes as she admits this and I squeeze her hand, giving her a sympathetic glance and she continues. The paramedic nods as she's talking and starts taking out a bunch of medical equipment, putting something on her finger, wrapping a band around her arm and inflating it, and attaching cords to her shoulders, ribs, and one in the center of her chest.

After a few minutes, we reach the hospital and a nurse meets us at the ambulance bay. She directs us into a large trauma room with tons of people seemingly waiting for us. The nurse makes me wait outside and I hesitantly agree, letting them do their work. I wait directly outside of the room with a positive update from one of the nurses who can tell how worried I am about what's happening to Aurora.

After almost an hour, with constant glances at my watch, Aurora is taken out of the room on the stretcher wearing a mint green hospital gown that is much too large for her body but brings out the color in her eyes, and she looks fine, thankfully. I walk alongside the nurse who is pushing the stretcher. We arrive at a curtained area for less emergent patients in the emergency room with all the necessary equipment. Another nurse meets us and takes Aurora from the other nurse, listening to the report about the situation.

The nurse does some kind of assessment and attaches her to a monitor, listens to her chest, and asks a series of questions. "What do you remember about what happened? How are you feeling? Are you short of breath? Do you have a headache or chest pain?" and then she takes Aurora's papers over to a desk and starts writing. I sit down and take her hand.

Half an hour later, Aurora is discharged by the doctor who allows me to take her home to the hotel. I call a cab to come to pick us up and we don't have to wait long. Aurora doesn't say much and I can tell she's embarrassed. I pay the cab driver and get out of the car, wrapping my arms around Aurora and picking her up as soon as she attempts to climb out.

"Maddox! I can walk! I'm fine!" She squeals and I ignore her, holding her to my chest covered in a scrub top that one of the nurses kindly gave me. I smirk to myself at the fact that we look like a couple of bedraggled doctors on our honeymoon with the way I'm carrying her into the fancy hotel.

Eventually, Aurora stops squirming, knowing that I won't put her down and she allows me to carry her to her room. I open the door to Aurora's room but don't see either of her roommates. They must be in a meeting. "Do you want to have a shower?" I ask softly, stroking her damp hair against her back and she nods into my shoulder.

I carry her body into the bathroom and set her down on the fluffy white bath mat, turning on the water for her. I turn around and leave her, shutting the door behind me. While she's occupied, I run across the hall to my own room to change. No sign of Chase or Reece.

Using her keycard, I enter the room just as I hear the water shut off, sitting on the edge of a bed and waiting. Aurora opens the door and exits the bathroom wearing one of those tiny hotel towels and I bite my lip, not able to keep my eyes off of her. She doesn't notice, staring at the ground as she walks over to her bag on the floor. She kneels down to pick a few pieces out and I swiftly look away, knowing that the towel is much too small not to reveal anything.

Aurora disappears back into the bathroom. This time when she comes out, she's wearing her light grey joggers from earlier and a pink tank top that shows off her toned arms. She walks over slowly and sits on the bed beside me, leaving a bit of room between us. I stay quiet, waiting for her to speak first and when she does, I hear a small "thank you" come out of her mouth.

"You don't need to thank me, Princess" I sigh, trying not to get angry again at the thought of something bad happening to her just because of some dumb ass and a pool. "I'm still pissed," I say after a few moments of silence.

"He didn't know." She defends him quietly and I bristle.

"Doesn't matter. None of those guys pulled you out of the water and I was across the goddamn room about to leave when I heard them." She nods, probably upset about it all too. Her cheeks blush suddenly.

"Were they laughing? When I woke up, everyone was standing around us." She says, obviously embarrassed about everyone witnessing that experience. I shake my head.

"Nobody was laughing, everyone was worried," I say honestly. I didn't hear a word out of anyone's mouth as I was giving her CPR.

"And you?" She asks, confusing me.

"Was I worried? Hell yeah. That's the second time I've seen you unconscious like that and it scares the shit out of me, Princess. Stop trying to die on me." I finish off jokingly, looking at her with a small smile and she laughs.

"Why would I stop when you're always there to save me?" She says, her green eyes looking into mine. I feel the air leave my lungs. My eyes dart around her face, memorizing her features. She licks her lips and looks at mine. "It wasn't quite how I imagined our next kiss to be like," She whispers breathily, leaning in toward me.

When our lips finally meet, she closes her eyes and I do the same. Our lips press gently against each other and I lean in closer to deepen the kiss. In one quick move, I grab her leg that is the furthest from me on the bed and lift it over both of mine, turning her body to face mine and pulling her to straddle me. Aurora's arms loop around my neck and I place my hands on her waist. She pulls us closer and parts her mouth, allowing me to take control with my tongue. As soon as I move my hands from her waist to her ass and squeeze, she moans into my mouth and I push her body harder against me.

A knock against the door pulls us apart and she stares at me wide-eyed, waiting for me to do something, still perched on my lap. I set her down on the floor, move to the door, and throw it open. Chase brushes past me to see Aurora and the girls smirk at me knowingly from the doorway.
