ย  ย  PARIS ALTHEA FELL is afraid of change. Not the kind of change that relates to moving into another city, being the new girl in school, or having to move on from somebody you just lost. No, it's far from that. She's afraid of changing into someone or something that she doesn't know.

Her whole life she's been this delicate and fragile human that everybody needed to protect these past few weeks. Every day she thought of how she would survive living under the watch of creatures which strengths and powers are beyond herself.

As a human, everybody referred to her as Sherlock 2.0 considering the fact that mystery allured her, that she's tempted to unravel things she didn't understand which was greatly influenced by Chloe's death before she knew what truly happened.

She loved taking pictures and hanging them up in her bedroom wall that served as her studio. She carried her camera at all times, thinking that there would always be this perfect scene happening in front of her and she had to be prepared to take a picture of it.

She hated school but dreamed of getting into prestigious ones like Harvard or Yale, or maybe even consider art schools.

Her problems then were just so simple such as how was she going to pass AP Biology, or how was she going to sneak out of the house to meet with Dana and her friends?

The questions that lingered in her head were just as simple as does she want to be a detective or an artist? What if Spider-Man had to pee? Then he needs to take the whole suit off? Paris' brain is complicated and weird.

But now, she's not human anymore. She's transitioning into a vampire. And that change scares her.

As much as she wants to know what the world has in store for her when she's a vampire, she can't, because she isn't one yet. It's not like the world would just speak to her and say 'Hey, when you become a vampire, you're gonna be Dracula's sidekick.'

Now that her human life is over and that her vampire one is about to start, she can't help but wonder: What kind of vampire will she be? She's sure she'll do well since she is meant to be a vampire. She'll do good...right?

"Anytime now, Paris." Damon said with an impatient look on his face as he watches Paris pace back and forth in the dining room while constantly looking at the glass of blood on top of the table, which she has been doing for the past ten minutes.

"Stop pressuring me. I haven't done this before. It's not every day that I get to drink human blood." Paris nervously snapped, unable to stop fiddling with her hands as she thought of becoming a vampire.

"Well, you need to get used to it because once you're a vampire, it's gonna be literally in your everyday life, which let me remind you, is for eternity." Damon said.

The raven-haired vampire walks towards where his bottles of bourbon are placed and poured himself a drink in order to remain patient as he dreadfully watch Paris walk back and forth literally for the seventy-sixth time.

"I can do this. I can do this." Paris whispered to herself as she finally stopped pacing around and stood in front of the table while stretching her whole body like drinking human blood is some kind of an athletic sport.

"I can do this, right?" Paris said as she glanced worriedly at Damon.

"Yes, you can, baby." Damon encouraged her.

Paris smiles at him tenderly before shifting her gaze towards the glass of human blood sitting on top of the table, waiting to be drunk by an incredibly nervous vampire-to-be. A loud exhale escapes her as she tried to calm herself down to be able to do this.

Once she's ready, her slightly shaking hand reached for the glass and picked it up. The glass slowly made its way towards her lips, her eyes taking a glimpse of Damon for a second to see him encouragingly smiling at her, she looks at the thick red liquid as her lips touched the rim of the glass.

Her hand pushes up the glass further in order to let the blood fall into her mouth. The moment her tongue made contact with the warm liquid, she felt her whole body begin to shift into overdrive. Her throat is hydrated, her heart is pumping normally again, her veins are being filled with blood, her strength is tripled, her hearing is beyond maximized, her eyesight is clearer.

From the outside, Damon witnesses how her pale skin began to have color again, the bags under her eyes disappearing and being replaced by veins bulging in and out, her eyes darkening as the taste of blood pleasured her.

Eventually, Paris managed to rip the glass away from her. She closes her eyes as she sighs in relief. When she closed her eyes, her hearing took over. She could hear so damn clearly. The sound of the fire crackling from the furnace in the living room. The fizzing of a newly opened canned soda of Jeremy. The chants of Bonnie as she makes Paris a daylight ring, and the heartbeat of her favorite person standing a few feet away from her.

"Well?" Asked Damon as he neared the newly turned vampire.

She opens her eyes and she glances at Damon who is now standing beside her, scanning her features before a smile grew on her lips. "I feel fine." She whispered.

Damon smiles at her and takes her hand to intertwine it with his. Paris looks down on their intertwined hands and notices that the mark of the insanity hex was already gone.

She moves their hands closer to her face as her other hand caress the part where the mark was previously placed.

"The mark's gone." Paris said.

"Yeah. It's odd. It was supposed to stay until I kill everyone I know including myself. But, according to Bon-bon, it seems like the Demon-spawn altered the time-span of the spell, making the spell last until her mission is complete. The mission turned out to be murdering you." Damon explained.

Paris could still see the guilt in his eyes, or rather, his whole facial expression, the way his eyebrows scrunch together, the way his eyes look sad, the way his jaw clenches.

"I really can't persuade you that it isn't your fault, can I?" Paris said.

Damon pushes his lips together as he squints his eyes, thinking of a rather specific persuasion. "We could always try that kissy thing again." Damon teased.

Paris laughs softly as she playfully hit and pushes Damon.

"We should go tell them I'm a... you know... a vampire." Paris told him.

Damon only nodded before they walked out of the dining room and into the living room where everybody awaits.

As soon as the two stepped in, all the tasks that the others were doing immediately stopped as their eyes landed on the much healthier-looking Paris.

"You look much better." Said Jeremy.

"I feel much better, too." Paris replied.

Her eyes caught the figure of her sister and she sees her eyeing Paris with an unreadable expression plastered across her face.

Meredith slowly approaches her now vampire sister as she scanned her features. She stopped at least two feet apart from Paris before she hugs her.

Paris smiles and hugs her sister back as she rests her chin on her shoulder.

"I'll always be here for you." Meredith whispered.

This made Paris close her eyes and hug her even tighter. The brunette vampire buries her head on Meredith's neck only to stop abruptly as she could literally see the vein in her neck pulsating.

She could feel her face changing, causing her to suddenly rip away from the embrace and turn around as she attempts to conceal her vampire face.

"Paris?" Meredith asked as she was about to approach her again.

"She's fine. She just needs to get used to...people." Damon just said.

Meredith worriedly glance at Paris as ber back still faced them before making her way back towards Ric.

"Elena, Caroline, and I were going to buy a ring that will serve as your daylight ring. Caroline insisted that you must have a fashionable ring. But then Damon came up with this fantastic idea." Bonnie said.

She approaches the young vampire and hands her the ring that has a purple crystal sitting at the center. Paris eyes the ring and she thought of how familiar the ring looked like.

"Is this what I think it is?" Paris asked, looking between Damon and Bonnie.

"He asked me to turn your necklace into a ring." Bonnie said.

Paris stares at the ring as she admired every little detail that Bonnie had added to make it look more beautiful than ever.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Damon said.

Paris just looked at him with a smile on her face before slipping the ring on her finger. She looks at it in awe before thanking Bonnie.

The gang started to leave the house since it was already eight in the morning. Some have work and some have school. Damon insisted that Paris should stay in today since she's a newly turned vampire and crowded placed like school might overwhelm her.

Considering the way she felt when she hugged her sister, Paris didn't argue with Damon on this. It's merely for the safety of herself and the people.

Paris went to the library with the hopes of finding something to entertain herself. But instead, she found the person she's hellbent on avoiding.

"Paris." Lucien said.

"I didn't know you're still here. I'll go." Paris said before turning around and walking away.

"Wait, Paris!" He called out. He vampire speed towards Paris and stops in front of her in order to block her path.

"I know you hate me-"

"Good. Then you understand why I don't want to see you."

Paris attempted to walk around Lucien but the older vampire insist on talking to her.

"But you must know that I don't care about the prophecy anymore. It's not worth it."

"Staying alive is not worth it?"

"Not when I'm hurting you."

Paris searches for any lies that can be seen through his facial expression but all she could see is sincerity. But Paris couldn't deal with all this right now. She once again tried to walk past Lucien but he blocked her path again, only to be pinned to the wall by Paris with her arm against his neck.

"Just get out of my way." Paris snarled at him.

"I'm a thousand-year-old upgraded original vampire, love. You're gonna need to do a lot better than-"

Lucien's words were cut off as soon as Paris' knee made contact with his most sensitive area harshly. The older vampire groans in pain as Paris backs away.

"Yeah. That's-That's it." Lucien grunts as he bent over, trying to recover from the pain that Paris unexpectedly threw at him.

"Lie to me again, and I'll make sure I don't have to kick anything down there anymore." Paris said before leaving Lucien in the library curling up in pain as he waited for it to disappear.

Paris just went up against a thousand-year-old vampire. She couldn't believe it. The speed and the strength she had to do exactly just that. She really is a vampire, and now her journey as one commences.

Not a very eventful one, but I needed to show how Paris is feeling about being a vampire, so here it is.
