ย  ย  LOOPHOLE. IT'S EVERY witches way of acquiring something that shouldn't be acquired. Witches are supposed to be the peacemakers. The ones who are in charge of nature's balance. However, witches are the ones who created vampires. Witches are the ones who created werewolves. Witches are responsible for most chaos that has happened over the centuries. But still, to maintain the balance, they don't allow a creature truly immortal to walk the Earth.

But then again, there would always be loopholes. Klaus unlocked his werewolf side, making him the first original hybrid. Now, Camila's about to be next on that list if she becomes the first vampire-witch hybrid with an upgraded vampire side.

"Basically, Bonnie said that siphoners are witches that have no power of their own. They have to absorb other witches' magic or at least someone or something that holds magic in order to have one." Paris said as she walks around her and Damon's room with her phone on her left ear, informing Lucien about what they found out just a couple of minutes earlier.

"Vampires were made by magic. She wants to become a vampire. That way she could have her own magic, plus, have vampire abilities." Lucien's voice was heard from the phone.

"Lucien, if Camila gets her hands on that serum and becomes a hybrid, she'll be unstoppable. Especially when her vampire side's upgraded. We don't even know what kills upgraded original vampires." Paris said worriedly.

Lucien smiles sadly in his living room as he looked down before responding. "Yet you're going to be able to kill me in the future." He said.

Paris tightened her grip on her phone as her breath hitched on her throat. Looking down to her feet, she replied back.

"I won't do that. You're my friend." She said.

Hearing Paris say that Lucien is her friend made his day a whole lot better. At least he knows that someone still cares about him.

"You have no idea how much that means to me." Lucien replied with a small, but wholehearted smile.

Paris also smiled before reminding herself of another thing she needed to inform him.

"Uhm. Anyway, you should come over. Bonnie thinks she can break through the cloaking spell with the magic she has now so we can find Alexis. You should bring something that belongs to her." Paris told him.

Lucien's body straightens as his face lights up with the hope of seeing his best friend again.

"Of course." Lucien replied before they ended the call.

Paris slips her phone back in her pocket before turning around to see Bonnie standing outside the open bedroom door.

"She's awake." Bonnie told her.

Paris nodded and Damon steps out of the bathroom before they all went to the cell to question Camila.

As soon as they entered the cell, they were greeted by a rather furious Camila.

"Got what you needed?" Camila said, her voice holding so much anger then her jaw clenched after.

"Didn't know you were a freak." Damon commented as he crosses his arms against his chest while Bonnie and Paris stood beside him.

"Exactly why I turned to dark magic. I was called a freak, an abomination by my own people. You can imagine how much it broke me." Camila said, remembering the painful memories she had of her earlier years.

"So you sacrificed and killed them?" Bonnie said in disbelief.

"To protect myself. You don't know what it's like to be a siphon. My own people were afraid of me, my own family. I was out of place. Growing up, the other kids wouldn't play with me because their parents told them I was a freak." Camila said, her voice cracking in the process considering that she was dehydrated.

"So you turned to dark magic?" Paris asked.

"Dark magic offered me something that I desperately needed. My own magic. All I needed to do was sacrifice five witches from different covens. Mutter a little spell with dark magic and voila, their magic will course through my veins for me to siphon. But of course, dark magic could only do so much." Camila explained.

Paris reaches for the only chair present in the room and sits on it while she listened to Camila.

"I needed to restore that magic every now and then since it was only temporary. But then I heard the story of the first generation of heretics." Camila added as she ended her statement with a sly grin.

"The heretics?" Bonnie asked.

"Creatures that are vampires and witches combined. A loophole. Only siphoners are capable to turn into one. When I was in Francine Fell's body, Aurora told me about it. She was willing to give me her blood, but there was no way I would become a heretic if I'm not a siphoner anymore. I needed to get back to my own body. After decades of searching for a way to bring me back, Aurora finally did. Conveniently enough, rumors spread like wildfire through the fields about Lucien and his serum." Camila elaborated.

"And of course, being your power-hungry self, you want the serum so you could turn into a super heretic." Damon said with a sarcastic and irritated tone.

"But for what? Revenge?" Paris asked.

Camila fixated her gaze towards a curious Paris before responding.

"Doesn't it always come down to revenge?" Camila said.

Paris and Camila maintained eye contact even after saying what Camila had said.

It does actually. Most villains are driven by vengeance. They want payback for what happened to them in the past. The tomb vampires wanted revenge on the founding families for trapping them in the tomb for a hundred and forty-five years. Of course, Camila would want revenge after being treated by her family like crap and for killing her.

The only question is, how far is she willing to go to achieve it?

Lucien had finally arrived with one of Alexis' belongings. He thanked Bonnie for doing this and it slightly surprised her since Lucien never really thanked her for anything, or at least be nice to her. Because of that, she realized how much Alexis means to him, therefore, she'll do everything she can to get her back.

"Alexis loves her earrings. I brought her favorite pair." Lucien said.

He hands the gorgeous pair of moon earrings to Bonnie and she accepted it.

"It's so beautiful." Bonnie said as she admired the earrings.

"It is." Lucien agreed, a smile planted on his lips.

Bonnie returns the smile before placing the earrings on her palm and covering it with her other one.

Paris and Damon stood beside Lucien as Bonnie closes her eyes and chanted under her breath.

The candles placed on the table were suddenly lit, indicating that the spell has started. Bonnie kept chanting the same Latin words while she keeps her hands clasped together.

At the first few minutes of chanting, Bonnie had a hard time, she wasn't able to pinpoint Alexis and Aurora's whereabouts. But after a couple more minutes, she finally starts to see flashes of images of where they are, which made Bonnie crease her forehead.

Paris, Damon, and Lucien anticipated for Bonnie to complete the spell until she finally did.

Bonnie opens her eyes still with her eyebrows scrunched together. Lucien called out for her the moment she opens her eyes.

"Bonnie? Do you know where she is?" Asked Lucien.

Bonnie turns her gaze towards Lucien before she answered her question.

"She's here." She simply replied.

Not even a second later, someone came banging on the door.

All their attention turned to the door with their confused and alarmed expressions. Damon took it upon himself to answer the door considering he's the owner of the house.

He opens the door and it revealed a pale and weak Alexis leaning against the doorframe, barely managing to keep her balance.

"Alexis!" Lucien exclaimed and immediately speeds towards Alexis, helping her.

"Lucien." The blonde faintly said before Lucien hugged her.

The blonde broke down in Lucien's grasps and cries against his shoulders, not being able to hold it in anymore after everything that Aurora had done to her.

Her arms weakly wrap around her best friend as Bonnie and Damon share a glance and Paris has a hand over her mouth, her heart breaking at the sight of Alexis in such a state.

Lucien reached down for her legs to pick her up and bring her in one of the many guest rooms in the house which Damon willingly offered.

A couple of minutes have passed and Paris decided to check up on the two.

The young vampire knocks on the door to inform them of her presence. Lucien turns to see her and he gives her a smile which Paris immediately noticed is a sad one.

"She wouldn't stop crying." Lucien told her as Paris approached him and Alexis who is lying on her side on top of the blankets, her back facing them.

Paris could hear her sniffs and sobs still with her back facing them.

"Did she tell you what happened yet?" Paris asked him and he simply shook his head to say no.

"Aurora was mad." Alexis said, her voice cracking.

Paris and Lucien turned their gazes towards the blonde as she slowly faces them. Paris could see the traces of where her tears streamed down. Her eyes were red as well as her nose.

Alexis tried to sit upright but couldn't do it on her own so Lucien had to help her.

"Aurora was mad when she learned that you got Camila. She took out all her anger at me." Alexis said, looking over the wounds and scratches she has on her arm and legs. Paris also notices the bite mark she has on her neck.

"How did you escape?" Paris asked.

Alexis glances at Paris before tears started to stream down her face again.

"I didn't." Her voice cracking once again.

Paris and Lucien furrow their eyebrows before Alexis could explain how she got here.

"Aurora let me go. She said I need to deliver a message to all of you." Alexis told them.

"What message?" Lucien asked his best friend.

"As long as Camila's in captivity, Aurora will kill every single person that you guys care about-" Alexis looks over at Lucien before a sob leaves her lips and a tear escaped her eye. "-starting with me."

As soon as those words left Alexis' mouth, blood started pouring out of it next. Paris and Lucien widen their eyes as Alexis coughed up a lot of blood.

"No! No, Alexis!" Lucien said as he tried to help Alexis but he didn't know how.

"Oh my, God." Paris whispered to herself before shouting "Bonnie! Damon!".

Alexis continues to vomit black blood into the previously clean, white sheets. Bonnie and Damon came running towards the room, their eyes immediately widening and their lips parting.

"What the hell happened?" Damon asked as he and Bonnie quickly approached the three.

"Aurora did something to her." Lucien said.

Bonnie took a closer look and realized what was happening to her based on how black the blood she was vomiting.

"She's poisoned." Bonnie said.

A few seconds later, Alexis stopped vomiting and became frighteningly still as Lucien has his arms around her.

"Alexis? Alexis!" Lucien started to shake the blonde seer but her eyes and her body remained still.

"No, no. Alexis. Alexis! No!" Lucien exclaimed as he continues to attempt to wake her up, but the absence of the sound of her heartbeat made Lucien's heart beat fast in panic.

"No. This-This can't be happening. Alexis, wake up." Lucien still tried to wake her up.

Bonnie looks at them in disbelief, Damon's jaw clenched while Paris once again has a hand over her mouth as a tear streamed down her face at the sight.

"No!" Lucien screamed loud as tears starts trickling down his face. Paris flinched at the loudness of his voice and she closes her eyes before turning towards Damon who is behind her and goes towards him.

Damon hugs Paris to comfort her while she cried on his shoulder, unable to witness any more of the scene unraveling behind her.

She could still hear Lucien's faint protests and sobs as he mourned the first person to ever truly care about him. The person who showed him how worthy he is. The person whom he treated like a sister.
